I want everyone to know that the owner KELLY contacted Dartmouth authorities on me - a paying customer - after I let her know that I would be posting about my negative experience at this salon publicly. The authorities of course let me know I have the right to post an honest review if I choose to.
To summarize what was done to me prior to this, I went to this salon twice and got my hair done by MAGGIE, and both times my hair was botched. The second and most recent time was worst of all, where I was supposed to get plain & simple all over color and instead was given thick fluorescent skunk stripes all over my head. I was baffled. It was nothing like the result that was agreed upon between me and the stylist. I consulted another hair dresser at a different salon afterwards and she was completely confused looking at what Maggie did to my hair, and let me know that Maggie also bleached it, in her opinion, for no reason. Although their website states they offer refunds at the discretion of management, I was rudely told refunds were not given under any circumstance and I wasn't allowed to speak directly with management or the owner when I called. I left many messages/voicemails and when the owner KELLY finally reached back out to me several days later, it was to yell at me, call me a liar over and over again, and tell me I won't be getting a refund because I posted a negative review of the business. How extremely unprofessional (and honestly unhinged) of her. After this phone call is when she contacted authorities and let them know she was worried I was going to ruin her business. To that I say if my honest review helps other people from having their hair completely ruined and their money taken from them and not given back, I've done the right thing. Kelly even thought it nice to threaten me with a lawyer. I'm not sure if she forgot that freedom of speech exists, but I hope this review serves as a good healthy reminder. I also find it interesting that there is a recent positive review posted from someone regarding the stylist who messed up my hair, only.. in my opinion it appears to be a literal template. When referring to Maggie, it says "[name]" instead of her actual name in the second paragraph. Strange. In my opinion if any company or person who finds it necessary to post or have posted a templated review on their behalf, that's rather misleading to the public and speaks to the character and the skills of the company and its staff. By the way, proof reading is a valuable skill. All in all I feel as though I was scammed by this company but refund aside, I was treated horribly by the staff/owners and would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I will make sure to always let people know what was done to me here, and I won't be silenced by the owner or anyone else. To anyone reading I would recommend you save yourself any risk of trouble and go to a reputable salon with GOOD PEOPLE who work inside. And also ones that know how to apply an all over color change correctly. If I wanted to look like a skunk, I would have been one for Halloween. Happy Holidays! read more
