Salem Professional Anesthesia will pad the insurance claim with outrageous amounts that has nothing to do with the surgery, to the point where my insurance refused to pay anything because of the fraudulent changes added to the claim. The insurance company reach out Salem Anesthesia , to no avail. They then sent the entire fraudulent bill to collection. If at all possible, try to avoid using this company. You might have to change place of surgery to do this, but it is worth it. Take a closer look at all the other over-charge related reviews online on this outfit, and you will see a trend. read more

These out-of-network anesthesiologists heavily padded my bill by changing my anesthesia option from just a LOCAL for a minor foot surgery (at the Greensboro Specialty Surgical Center part of SCA on N. Elm St. in Greensboro, NC), asconfirmed with my surgeon beforehand, to FULL anesthesia and then unnecessarily performed the LOCAL afterwards which created even more issues and pain post-op. They double-billed and kept billing my insurance for months afterwards. Now, years later, I just discovered that they have reported a previously unknown debt of $3K against my credit report! While being prepped for surgery, the anesthesiologist and nurse anesthetist visited me repeatedly. Immediately before surgery, they came back once again and said my doctor wanted FULL anesthesia. When I asked to speak with my doctor, they said he would be right in, but that never happened as a nurse then started my IV and wheeled me into surgery. When I asked my surgeon about this later, he said that the anesthesiologist had been delayed with another case before me (even though my case was supposedly the first of the day) and had requested the change. Based on the timeline and frequency of their visits, I know this to be inherently false. Once I was awake from the surgery, they still performed the unnecessary local to a gaggle of nurses as if it was a training seminar. I will NEVER use the Greensboro Specialty Surgical Center or the Triad Foot Center ever again as I am convinced by the differing and false stories regarding the procedures and billing that they all are in collusion to squeeze out the most money from patients. read more

I had back surgery at Greensboro Specialty Surgical Center part of SCA on N. Elm St. in Greensboro, NC over a year ago. Never got a bill from the anesthesia company so I thought insurance paid it. Now over a year later I received a letter from a collection company for a bill they never sent me. I can see maybe I missed one bill in the mail but no way I missed the bills to the extent that it would be turned over to collections. Beware this is not my first problem with this company a few years ago they overbilled my insurance for another procedure and it took me months to straighten out. read more

If you can get your Anesthesia from somewhere else then you should. Like many other reviews, the billing is what is killing them. Our autistic son had expensive oral surgery and we trying to set up a payment plan to pay off our balance. In the midst of negotiations we received notice that they turned us over to a collections agency. Funny thing is that we were making the payments to them already. Bizarre to say the least. read more

Professionally I have no complaints with the services provided during my recent surgery..but, be aware that while the Doctor, Hosp.(or surgical center) may be in network with your insurance..these people may not be and that may cost you hundreds or even thousands of dollars..It did in my case..and they just kept repeating that they would ruin my credit unless I paid the bill in full. They wouldn't even accept the negotiated rate the insurance company would have paid if they had been in network..they wanted the full uninsured rate..very rude too..ask your doctor or hospital who the anesthetist will be if it's these folks I'd seek another doctor. read more

I recently had neck surgery and Salem Anesthesia put me to sleep. They were great. I had anesthesia before at another hospital and the experience was horrible. I had no side effects from the anesthesia Salem Anesthesia gave me. The girls in the business office were very nice when I called about my insurance claim and what I had to pay. They gave me options on how to pay for my part and were very helpful. I hope I don't have to have surgery again but if I do, I would choose them to put me to sleep. read more

Oh my goodness, PLEASE ask who is doing your anesthesia before surgery and if it is Salem Professional Anesthesia REQUEST SOMEONE DIFFERENT!!! I had no problems regarding surgery, but the billing department/office staff is astonishingly rude! I have never been treated so badly bad professional people. They have been worse that I would think a bill collector would be; threatening, demanding, even hanging up the phone on me and my husband. My husband had to deal in the end because I would get so upset talking with them. No compassion, no flexibility. They had already received THOUSANDS of dollars from my insurance company but treated us terribly for the remaining $300. read more

They Called the day after my surgery and attempted to bully and scare me into paying an outrageous bill. Verbatim, they said "you need to pay this full balance today of $2398." I then stated I was self pay. They said that did not matter, that I had paid the surgeon and the Hospitol in full, so I needed to pay them in full also. I then asked, since I am self pay do I get a discount? She told me to hold, she came back and said since I was self pay she could take my bill to $1748, a 30% discount. I then asked her to send me an itemized bill. She told me to hold. Then a very mean and rude lady came on the phone claiming to be the VP of something. She told me I would only get the discount if I paid right now. I told her she was effing crazy if she thought she could bully me into paying. Then she said don't cuss at me, and if I did not pay it today she would send it to collections. I then hung up. It felt like I was dealing with a crooked collection agency rather than a medical professional. Consumer Beware!!! read more
