Also known as "The other side of Tramore Beach". Saleen's is a length of sandy beach stretching out along Tramore Bay's eastern headland. It is separate from "the Baldy-Man" (Tramore's largest sand-dune) only by a slender stream. This stream feeds and empties the backstrand to Tramore Beach, so the currents are infamous. For this reason it's not recommended as a swimming beach, and unless you fancy doing laps it lends itself only to short walks. It's accessed from the region known as Cloghernagh, down a long narrow road just past the woods (there may or may not be a signpost). As it's an out of the way spot with amazing views, it's a great location for a romantic summer's picnic. Or if you're alone, enjoy a restful day with a good book and a bottle of wine. read more
