Wow, this place was legit. Not going to lie, as a first-timer it's a little overwhelming, especially if there is a line behind you. I suggest doing what I did and more or less copy the guy in front of you :0) There are basically 3 or 4 'stations' with a large number of ingredients you can put in your salad or wrap. The 1st station is the lettuce & whether or not you want a wrap, followed by stations 2,3,4 where you get to choose from an extremely large number of ingredients to put into your salad. The prices are determined depending on what you get Salad (Large/Small) or Wrap. After that, you can put as much or as little ingredients you want in the salad for no additional charge. Typically sort of kind of not typical salad bar. Here's my take on that. Think of a long bar filled with 20+ items (leafs, veggies, meats, dressings, fruits, breakfast and a vast array of other toppings). They give you silver salad bowl, much like Eatzis, and walk you down the isle for unlimited toppings. Here's the not so typical. Like Freebirds, they've got multiple options for wraps. The one I chose was cool cucumber. Super different... it truly excited me! They had different meat options available like marinated shrimp, beef and chicken but I opted for smoked turkey! Spinach, banana peppers, bacon bits, spicy chipotle ranch, a touch of balsamic vinaigrette, sun dried tomatoes, black olives and cucumbers. Of course you don't have to get a wrap and could definitely do salad, but check out the wrap. They also mix all of the ingredients together in the bowl before they put it in the wrap so all your ingredients are spread evenly. Came out to right under $11. Pretty big wrap + premium ingredients, I feel it's worth it. read more

I enjoyed the fact that they did not limit how many different veggie toppings you could have and my salad also came with some croutons and bread. I have eaten salads here numerous times and I love it! One of my favorite places to stop before a trip as I am flight attendant. I particularly find the manager to be so welcoming and attentive. Salata just opened around the first of the year and the concept is this: build your own salad or wrap by picking the fixings and letting the guy mix the ingredients, pay 7 bucks, eat it there or take it with you. The atmosphere is fine, pretty bare bones, which fits with the concept. The ingredients seemed fresh by look and taste, and you can add chicken to any salad or wrap for an extra $1. The variety of ingredients is decent, more than Subway and less than you'd get at an upscale (Central Market) salad bar. Downtown clearly is in need of a good salad place, so perhaps this will fit the bill, although it would be nice if they had some 'custom' salads that you could pick from to make things a little more interesting. Beverage options consist of a soda machine and iced tea dispenser, so no bottled drinks, or specialty stuff here. So between my salad (without chix) and a fountain drink I think I spent $8.50, wolfed it down at a table in the restaurant and bused my trash, all in the span of 15 minutes. They made me a very nice fresh salad. Pick your greens, then your veggies, add beans, a protein, choose your dressing and you have a great salad for lunch. They have 3 vegan protein choices too. Eat in or get it to go. If the line is long, don't worry it moves really fast. The staff is friendly so don't be shy about asking for an extra helping of your favorite ingredient. I've missed having the opportunity to eat here and was excited to see a location in Downtown FW. Busy at noon of course but line goes by fast. Not much space inside to sit inside and eat during the noon hour. Pick the size salad you want, pick your lettuce, then choose all the veggies, fruits, nuts, add ins you desire. Proteins are extra but they have anything from chicken to salmon. Choose your dressing. I always get the spicy ranch or whatever it's called. They mix it all up for you at the end. I asked for mine in a to go container to take back to the office. There are a few tables outside as another dining option. The staff was really non-conversational. They weren't rude. They just seemed like they we're doing their job and didn't really address me as a customer except "what else?", what else?", "bread?"... even at the register it was a transaction. Even though the line was long, it didn't take long to get through. You also have the option to call it it for pick up. Don't forget to have them validate your parking garage ticket if you parked in the garage and walked. There's a parking garage behind Cheesecake Factory making a short walk to Salata. I came for lunch with coworkers when we were in town for a business trip. You have a choice of small salad, large salad or a salad wrap. You go down the line, cafeteria style, picking your type of lettuce and your toppings. Careful with the toppings-- some of them are quite a bit extra and my initial $8 wrap ended up costing $18. The servings are generous so you won't feel hungry afterward. This is a popular place and the seating area is very small, so consider going off peak or take out. I tried this place for the first time today and I must say that it's quite the efficient operation. I had the regular salad with no meat for a little over 10 bucks out the door. You pick out your salad ingredients from a wide and fresh selection and within less than five minutes you're either eating or out the door with your to go order. Wow! It's like Subway, only it's actually appetizing. Walk in and you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member who will explain the process. Their first question will be "Salad or wrap?" Then you go down the line and choose what you want. The first stop is the greens (iceberg, romaine, mixed greens, and spinach). Then you go to the vegetables where they have about 20 different options (tomatoes, onions, celery, chickpeas, tofu, etc.). Then go to the nuts and seeds section, and the fruit and cheese section. Then the meats (I opted for tofu). After that select one of their home made dressings and your staff member will mix it all together and out comes your salad or wrap (they also have 5 or so different kinds of tortillas). I had a wheat wrap with spinach, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, tofu, strawberries, apples, and almonds, mixed with their herb vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious. When I walked into Salata I noticed the first women in the line fill up the romaine lettuce, even though there was plenty of Romain lettuce in the bin. I was surprised that she did not immediately stop what she was doing, and take my order! It was the first time I had ventured out to try this place, and I actually had the money to spend! I observed poor customer service, topped with the fact that only one or two of the employees were wearing a mask. I walked out because I did not want the restaurant worker to breath on my salad. I reasoned that I should go to Jason's deli, where they have an open salad bar, and I can build my own. There is still a chance of contamination, but at a lesser degree. One of the workers noticed that I complained about the next person in the assembly line's neglect to wear a mask, and she offered to finish making my salad. But when I saw that one scoop of chicken was four additional dollars, I decided I did want want to spend $15 on a small salad. So I walked out. read more

We had a great experience at this Salata location. We were looking for a quick place to pick up dinner in Fort Worth, close to the Amtrak station, since we only had an hour before our train was set to leave. Salata's set up is different from other salad shops I've visited--instead of a menu of salads to choose from for an employee to make, or a salad bar where you make your own, it's a combination. You start at one end of the counter by selecting your lettuce (and letting them know whether you want a salad or a wrap). Then you pick vegetables, toppings, proteins, and dressings as you go down the line, with the employee adding ingredients to the bowl as you pick them. They have such great options! Almost too many. And it's a set price for a wrap or a salad (plus small price increases for proteins and certain additions) so it's not like you're raising the price with every topping you add (they don't weigh the salad or anything like that). I added salmon to my salad and my boyfriend added shrimp, and both proteins were fresh and delicious. We both turned our salads into wraps, and they were served with pita chips (salads in bowls are served with bread). One huge wrap with salmon and pita chips is a very reasonable $10. And they were absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a quick, healthy meal. read more

Look when I first started coming to this salata, it was so good. You get to create your own salad, decide what size you want your salad. They even have soups and wraps. I loved it I use to go there during my breaks when I could. However I went one day and while I was eating my salad I look down, and I saw a bug in my salad of course I looked to my coworker and freaked out. It was just horrific it didn't look like a spider or anything it looked like a roach it was pretty small but ughh just thinking about it.. ew. So I went to the manager and complained he said "we wash our produce and lettuce, etc everyday, however there's only so much we can do about bugs that get inside." OK. I know what you're thinking: How special can a salad pace be?? Well, I don't know, but this I've was nothing short of Salad heaven. It is a cafeteria style establishment and everything looks and tastes so fresh. They have everything from corn, walnuts and cranberries to bean sprouts, beets, and crisp fresh green peas. I got a salad wrap and lost mind. I got Chipotle chicken and Chipotle ranch in mine as well. I had no idea what I'd wanted but the proper behind the counter were moderately patient. The customer service wasn't anything particularly amazing or out of the ordinary, but it wasn't terrible. I live the minimalist atmosphere, and the feel of the place. It's not your ordinary Salad spot I assure you. I will be back. The menu is simple. I kids meal is $6, a salad starts at $6 and a wrap at $7. I LOVE THIS PLACE....except that today, my 2nd time there, the manager took the time to publicly humiliate me, by pointing out that i had gone against the "rule" by asking for a little extra of several ingredients, like beets (NOT the items that cost extra). He informed me that it wasn't a "buffet," and then, when my salad wouldn't all fit in the To Go container (which i SPECIFICALLY asked the girl to leave part in the bowl to eat now), he said i ended up with "2 salads"... Upon sitting down to eat what I'd asked her to keep in the bowl, i noticed that the people around me had JUST as big of bowls full as i had had...they just didn't ask for part of it to go first!
