I've been looking for a solid hibachi place in the Baltimore area and this is the first one I've tried that I would recommend. Food: I don't eat beef so can't comment on that. I got the chicken and shrimp combo. The salad was great. The soup is made with chicken and beef broth, so I couldn't have that. I would recommend getting the mushrooms over the shrimp side, mainly because it's just two more pieces of shrimp. I felt like they gave a good amount of food (I was struggling to finish) - sufficient mixed vegetables and fried rice. The shrimp and chicken were cooked very well. The food isn't particularly spicy, but I like the sauces. I'm sure you can ask for hot sauce if you'd like. The menu is pretty focused on the hibachi, so no sushi options. I just wish they also had option for yakisoba (noodles). Service: We had a large group for late lunch on Sunday and were seated immediately. Our server and chef were both great. Our chef had a solid balance of theatrics (we had some kids in our group) without delaying food service, which I feel like is important for hibachi. My sister wanted teppanyaki for her birthday. We haven't been to a hibachi restaurant in years and forgot how fun it could be. We were seated right away. There are plenty of tables. The whole party needs to be present to be seated. The staff were pleasant and not overly performing. The food was just the way I remembered, nothing stood out but it was all very good and plentiful. The restaurant is located in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. Oh I failed to look around at the decor, so I'm going to assume that it's typical too. This is an ok hibachi place. We usually have to wait when we go because they want to have enough people to complete a table before serving you. The food is good, they cook in front of you but there isn't much of a show like they have in other places. Overall is good and we will come back as it's the only hibachi grill close to home. Putu was our server and this was my worst restaurant experience hands down. Our chef was great with food prep and the hibachi experience. But Putu tried to place to go boxes in front of us like 5 minutes after being presented food and threw our bill in front of us trying to rush us to leave. Then later in our meal he stopped coming by the table so we had to ask another table's chef for water, who referred it to Putu. Then Putu brought water but instead of giving it to us, he went to the next table and asked them if they wanted water (which none of them did) and then came to us only after they all said no. Then the bill he gave us wasnt even split like we had requested and he was very apprehensive when we explained how we wanted it split. We were the only table of black people seated at the time and it definitely gave weird vibes. I'm never going to this location again and would recommend no one else come here either. The dining in experience was great as we did the table top Hibachi meal where they cook in front of you. It's always fun eating with other people if you have a small party and are combined to one table. The food was delicious as it's freshly cooked in front of you. We ordered the steak and shrimp with fried rice. The fried rice is yummy, the steak cooked medium rare and the veggies they service with the meal is delicious. Wish I could give a minus 10! I tried very hard not to write this complaint. However I'm getting zero correspondence or even acknowledgement of my complaint and it's been over a week. I visited this location with my family and was humiliated in front of several onlookers in which a few began recording. My husband saw hair in his soup. I mentioned it to the chef and the chefs response was" our people don't have hair like that yours do" . Did not offer a new soup- in fact he laughed. I asked him is he implying that because we are black and our hair is curly that this is my husband hair? My husband is BALD! Unacceptable that we didn't receive the same service as any other paying customer because our hair is curly. To add insult to injury my daughter then saw hair in her food and when I mentioned to the chef he smiles. There's so much more to tell about this experience I just am so humiliated, embarrassed, and on top of everything else I had to beg the manager for my bill. The chef made racial statements to my family- made us feel less than human and embarrassed and humiliated my family in front of a whole Restaraunt of people. We were not treated fairly at all we were stereotyped and mistreated because of the texture of our hair. We were made to feel BLACK and unworthy of a new soup! Manager tried to do damage control but it was too late. I've sent several messages to corporate and have gotten ZERO response. I will never give Sakura another penny and I will be pursuing legal representation since I can't even get a response from Sakura. Delivery Review: Sakura's takeout is the place you order from when you're craving that hibachi steak but don't have that hibachi time. A great place to visit with a date or with your family (when the world is open), Sakura's does not disappoint as a delivery option. My co-workers and I have frequented Sakura about 5 times over the last year, and now I think we need to look for another place for sushi lunch. First, props to Sakura for the interior of the restaurant is clean and very nicely decorated. The wait staff is courteous. The restaurant is set up for teppan grill and that may be its strong suit given all the good dinner reviews from other people. But if you want sushi for lunch, then this is probably the wrong place to go. The nigiri sushi pieces are ridiculously small size, the fish being cut thin and served slightly cold (ouch! it's supposed to be body temperature). The rice is likewise a mere tiny dollop. Traditionally, each piece of nigiri is meant to be a mouthful, but you can easily fit 2 pieces of Sakura nigiri sushi in your mouth :-( Given the small size of each nigiri and still chilled servings seen over all our visits, steering clear of sushi is probably the right thing here. The accompanying California roll is okay and without much fanfare. Once again, they could be a bit more robust, with a little more rice and fillings. In sum, our lunch outings at Sakura have been a little disappointing. read more

Don't know if I'll be back. Family came for a small celebratory dinner and got a late start. We called ahead to confirm we could be seated and there were no objections. The hostess had no objections and didn't state a last seating time or even "kitchen will be closing soon". We arrived almost an hour before closing, which we presumed would be plenty of time to eat and leave (we're fast eaters, we don't linger over drinks or anything like that). We were seated with no objections, and there were even other diners in the room but every step of the way from the server to the cook they made it very clear that they didn't want us there with little comments. They "ran out" of sushi (meaning, they packed it up early despite having diners in the restaurant. The bar closed while we were eating. I get that you want to close at a certain time, and that's why we called. They had 2 opportunities to say "sorry we close soon" yet they still opted to take our money. Meanwhile the food itself was displeasing, but I suppose that's the nature of this type of restaraurant - while being very expensive and apparently ingredients being of top choice, it was all rather bland and a very simple preparation. Been here many times over the past 8 or 9 years. Used to really like this place but in recent years we've stopped coming except by "Birthday Request" from the kids. The price is just too high for the just adequate quality that seems to continue its downward trend. Depending on your chef, you may be more or less entertained. The kids like it but it gets old after the first time or two the adults. As for the menu, it's typical teppanyaki with fried rice, veggies and a choice of one or more meats including steak, chicken or shrimp. They also have a typical sushi menu. I had forgotten that this existed in the Enchanted Forest shopping center. I guess it's been here for awhile but this was our first visit. We arrived early, around 5 pm and were seated at a small grill with about 10 other seats. There were four other people at the grill, and they were very nice. It can always be a little awkward with communal seating, if you don't feel like chatting etc. I believe you can sit at regular non hibachi tables if that's more up your alley. We brought our baby and knew she'd enjoy the fire, activity, and artistry of the hibachi grill masters. Hendra was our server, he really brought our drinks and checked back. A bus girl cleared our plates since the space is limited the way a sushi bar is. We got two large 22 oz Sapporo beers, the scallop entree, and the chicken and steak combo. My husband is allergic to shellfish and accidentally ingested a shrimp that Frank the hibachi person tossed into the air. It was like a Pavlovian response, a dolphin at the aquarium or something. He's fine, though we did mention he was allergic to our server but it was probably lost in translation. The scallops were plump and decent in size, which is good since they cost $ 27.95 I am always impressed by the multitasking of the grill master, knowing what to remove when, lighting the onion tower on fire, fixing the rice etc. It's a lot of food, and I had leftovers. We also ordered edamame, and salad, mushrooms, and soup came with our entrees. We'll be back, mainly for the convenience and entertainment factor for our sweet little baby.
