Recuperating outside of Warsaw at my uncles limited my delivery options but luckily I found Mandarin! Now, wonton soup was always my go to elixir in NYC (I'm looking at you Sammy's Noodle Shop) so I couldn't wait to see how Poles interpreted it. Not that I was expecting the same Americanized version of Chinese cuisine but when you are sick you crave comfort and comfort did arrive in the soup and Kung Pao chicken. It won't replace Sammy's in my heart but it was excellent!

I love a good sit-down, family style Chinese restaurant, and they offer most of the "traditional" Chinese dishes. Ok, when I say traditional, I mean what you typically expect to find on a Chinese menu in similar restaurants in the United States. My friend and I each ordered a soup, and together we shared the 2 person meal. The menu is large and easy to read in Polish and English. I had hot and sour soup (very good), and my friend went with the Chinese mushroom soup. Both of us were happy with it. The meal was good too - offering you a large portion of food for the price. It also allows you to sample a variety of dishes (duck, sweet and sour chicken, and pork with vegetables) and comes with egg rolls. The egg rolls weren't my favorite, but they weren't bad. I really like the atmosphere here, its calm and relaxed. On a Wednesday night we were the only patrons there. They have a small cloak room with some children's toys as well to keep children occupied. And the bathrooms are fabulous in that they make you feel like your'e in some ancient Chinese castle! Our server was pleasant, personable, and my friend says she is always this way. My friend's been here on a number of occasions and the server is always the same. Consistency is good! And the service was FAST. We didn't wait long for anything - ordering, soup, meal, the check. It was great.

I came for lunch and it was empty. Nobody was preparing anything. I took 8 dumplings that were just heated up and I couldn't even eat one. Old dough, too salty, bad sauce. Awful, awful, awful! A waste of time and money. Oh, and the smell! You need to wash all your clothes after visiting this place.
