There are few things I love more than a quaint and cozy wine bar, so when I had a chance to finally try Saison, I was totally excited. Arrived on time for our 7:30pm reservation and surprisingly it wasn't jam packed. The few times I had try to get a seat here, its been super busy. Pro tip: definitely grab a reservation to be safe! During those busy times, they even require a reservation to sit at the bar. Got started with a great glass of wine to start an I was totally blown away, I knew I was in the perfect place! The rest of the evening and other glasses of wine I tasted were incredible too. The wine list is vast and expansive, so they definitely have something for everyone. Food was incredible too! We had a great hodge podge of things to try! Started off with the delicious steak tartare and garden salad. Both so delicious, but man oh man that steak tartare was out if this world. It was paired with some light and and airy rice chips. So lovely and really allowed you to enjoy all the flavors in the tartare. I also allowed our server, shane to choose some cheeses for us. He made some incredible choices for us to enjoy. These were accompanied with some bread, dip and spreads. Absolutely fantastic. To finish things off, I had a terrific glass of port because, I can't leave a wine bar without having one. Totally great experience at Saison wine! Vibes were so wonderful, Shane, our server was fantastic, and I am looking forward to spending more time here in the future!

Girlfriend and i went out for dinner and a show. Saison had a good selection of wine. HH had a short list of snacks and wine, oysters were very reasonable. The steak tartare was delicious and frisée salad was amazing - prob cuz the bacon was fried perfectly. Service was friendly and atmosphere was nice. Parking was ok, had plenty a block or two away. Total came to about $140/persom incl tax and tip. Lots of folks there for date night. Very cute! Will return.

Great spot for wine, charcuterie board and and small side dessert. We came here without a reservation and got lucky, we were seated right away at the bar area. I suggest reservations though. I will definitely come back and try some other stuff on their menu. Customer service was top notch.

I came here on a Tuesday night and it's popping! Even though it's a wine bar, their tapas were amazing! I really enjoyed the charcuterie board however the bread was a little tough. The truffle fries were delicious but the highlight for me was definitely the caviar parfait. The layers were so well sized and the flavors were perfect! However, I wish the food came out more timely and some of the staff were a little standoff so my experience was not as great as I hoped but will definitely come back for the wine and food!

This is probably one of the best places for HH. Everything was very high quality and wasn't too expensive. The space is very intimate but didn't feel crowded. You can tell the servers there care about the place. I tried all 3 wines on their HH and none of them disappointed. The ham croque was surprising I thought it was be too cheesy but it was very well balanced. I also thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie, the bread was crispy yet soft and all their cheeses were A+. And then there were oysters. We had 60 of them....they're only $1.50 each we had to! And they were the freshest HH oysters I've ever had!

We are huge fans of Saison so the wine bar has been on our list to check out but we never seemed to be able to get reservations until recently. It's a pretty small space, which explains the difficulties securing a reservation. I had assumed they would have bar seating that was first come first served, but I overhead the hostess taking guests with a reservation to the bar, so I'm not sure if walk-ins would be very successful here - probably best to call in advance! We started with the truffle fries. These are thin and crispy with real black truffle shavings, whereas most places are using truffle-scented oil that contains no actual truffles, so a very pleasant surprise! The aioli was also really tasty. Next we had the Lyonnaise salad, which was perfectly dressed. There were plenty of lardons and the croutons were nice and crunchy. It was great alternating between the salads, which had an acidic dressing, and the fries, which were super rich. We also ordered the steak tartare, but mysteriously it took well over an hour to get to us. I had to check with the server once to make sure it was still on its way. Despite the lengthy wait, it was really delicious and well worth the wait. With the closure of Monsieur Benjamin, this is now easily my favorite steak tartare in the city. Highly recommended! We also ordered a half bottle of the 2022 Huet Le Mont Sec ($63). I didn't realize until later when I was looking at pictures that they actually brought us the wrong wine. I recognized the producer's label and confirmed the vintage but did not confirm the bottling. In addition, the wine actually came out to us already open, which is very strange. I realize mistakes like this can happen but did not expect it from a Saison Hospitality establishment, since the wine programs are typically highly regarded. Other than the timing with the tartare and the wine mixup, which I honestly should have caught, everything else was great. The reason for the 4 star review is the pricing on BTG and the bottle list, which is exorbitant - I know the hospitality group has Michelin-starred restaurants, but this wine bar is not one of them, yet the wine list is priced like one (current release bottlings were easily 3x wholesale if not more). Want something below $100 for a 750ml? Good luck - options are few and far between. So would I come back? Yes - for the steak tartare and other menu items we didn't get a chance to try. But sadly, this isn't going to be a place where I come to pop bottles. It's just too expensive and I'm happy to give up some ambiance for a more affordable option like the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant or Arlequin in the Hayes where you can drink for a tiny corkage fee above very reasonable retail pricing.

I admit we came here to utilize the Chase Sapphire Reserve open table benefit and I'm glad we tried this place out! Indy was a friendly waiter and really knowledgeable about the different wines. For 2, we had the following on a Friday reservation at 6:30pm: - Nino Negri - red wine. Seemed like a light version of a Pinot noir. It was delicious 5/5 - 6 miyagi oysters. So fresh and flavorful. 5/5 - truffle fries - probably the best truffle fries I've ever had. Fresh shaved truffles on the fries 6/5? - steak Tar tar with rice crisps - 3/5. I personally don't like tar tar, but the presentation was nice - Sandwiches are loaded with cheese on top and in the bread. If you don't like cheese, you won't like the sandwiches. Nice portions and garden salad and pickled vegetables are a nice touch. Ham croque sandwich 4/5. mushroom croque sandwich 5/5 Low key wine bar with bar seating and a few tables. Most couples had to sit at the bar with larger parties at the tables. Definitely make reservations since it was packed when we left around 7:30. Also, there's multiple Saisons on the street (resto, private club, and wine bar). Make sure you google the right location!

THE BIG: Located near the ballpark area of San Francisco. Very rustic and homey inside the wine bar. Only indoor seating and must get a reservation. Walk-ins available if reservations lapses past 15 minutes. Street parking available but hard to find. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here to see an old friend from DC. He recommended this spot and it was a great time. Very rustic inside and apparently it's the wine bar to the two michelin starred restaurant next door. For food and drink, we got the HH truffle fries , glass of blanches fleurs 2019, HH oysters, HH sparkling prosecco. The HH prices are great here. Truffle fries were nice and thin with a good helping of parmesan truffle shredded cheese on top. Oysters was the big deal of the day with each oyster costing $1.50 on HH. Service was nice and attentive. Very kind to accomodate my wife who was 7 months pregnant. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall we spent around $88 for everything, which was great for a nice happy hour spot with great wines.

Yassssss x10000000000etc!! I've only been here for HH (with reservations) - but ultimately have had a fabulous experience each & every time. Just great vibes & service, all around! The place is beautifully intimate & swanky with a cool bar & some booth style tables along the back. The HH wine special is great! Legit half the price with about 4 selections (I literally have a glass of each :))) bc "wine not!?!" Food wise there are a few selections for HH BUT a must would be the $1.50 oysters from 4-5pm...ALSO, I would still highly recommend a few yummy dishes from their regular menu as well! Let's dig in: (1) HH oysters - fresh, small, & delish little suckers with a light tasty vinaigrette! A must for $1.50!?! (2) Caviar - ofc the caviar was delish, but I really enjoyed the soft little blinis + creme fraiche & simple accompaniments that really made each bite better. (3) Truffle fries with real truffle shavings & parm - perfectly thin & crispy with the right amount of cheese + fresh truffle is just so much better, more earthy & mushroom like in taste than the oil which is def. overrated. (4) Pate (Chicken Liver) - came with baguette & a refreshing side salad. This was also tasty although very rich - def. bit more gamey but with the bread & salad it was well balanced. (5) Beef tartare - soooooo good, def. one of my faves. Great meat quality with the right amount of flavor & texture + the most delish, unique, & crispy saffron rice crackers as the perf. vessel. (6) Charcuterie - this was a great size for HH. Obsessed with the olives + Cheese rotates but has always been unique & tasty, also comes with baguette and some cured meats. Vino - I usually start with the bubbly rose, then white wine then the last two reds on the HH menu. They're all light and tasty as per most European wines. Would also recommend the flight if you prefer sticking with all reds - overall a great selection of Europeans wines!

Awesome happy hour! Oysters were meaty and fresh. Some of the best truffle fries I've had. Service was great, staff was friendly. Ambiance was classy and bougie. Would go back for happy hour.

Cute, intimate date night spot. Would recommend reservations if you want a table otherwise you'll end up sitting at the bar. Wine selection is superb. The oysters and truffle fries were delicious. Great, friendly service.

My fiancee and I were able to get a table at 5 PM on a Friday and upon arrival, we were surprised that it wasn't super packed. The tables are perfectly spaced apart so conversations felt more intimate. Food came out fairly quick and service was alright with a mix or friendly wait staff and not as friendly wait staff. Oysters (3/5)- some were fresh and some weren't. For the price, these are decent for what you pay for. Caviar parfait (2/5)- Picturesque but the flavors fell short. The bread on the bottom was very dry and the caviars brininess wasn't balanced well with the overly salty smoked salmon. I really wish there was a creamier part on this dish to cut the salt. Truffle fries (5/5)- one of the bites that I actually did end up liking. I loved the freshly shaved truffles and the sauce was to die for. Quesadilla (4/5)- perfectly cheesy and the poblano peppers balanced out the richness. Croque Monsieur (3/5)- I was really looking forward to this dish but the bread was so dry and just didn't work well the cheese and ham. This dish has potential but definitely needs a change in the bread type used. Deviled eggs (3/5)- your basic deviled eggs. Nothing to criticize or rave about. Queso (2/5)- nothing noteworthy to say about this dish Definitely had a lot higher expectations for this spot since they are sister restaurants with saison. Probably wouldn't recommend this spot unless you are going during their happy hour menu.

Even though the place was pretty packed and can be kind of noisy, I still felt very calm amongst all the healthy plants and loved the sophisticated 70s inspired glassware. Another great feature of this place is that you can buy most of the plants because they have some for sale so after a couple of cocktails, I was ready to redecorate my whole house with all the plants.
