(2018 REVIEW) Simply…read morewanted to offer DBS a positive shot out for opening their store exactly at 9am. Why is this a factor? It shows professionalism, unlike Hairzone Beauty Supply located on the corner of 85th & Crenshaw. I needed to make a quick pick up for some supplies and I even asked what their hours were the day before. Welp, I showed at 8:55am, waited and then waited again and no show lol. I mean the sign said 9am, but hey maybe someone was running late. Anything is possible and I can understand. Either way, it was a turn off in regards to running a business and especially when deadlines need to be met. So nothing personal, just business. Yes, DBS is limited with a few things they offer, but at least I know I can depend on them and THAT'S good business. So again, many thanks DBS for showing up on time and offering items I was looking for. I only offer 4 stars because the younger generation seems not to comprehend that it is unprofessional when you're on your cell phone at the counter and second, there was a limitation on some supplies. Yes I would return if/as/when needed.

When I say these ladies are the nicest people ever... I visit this store regularly to pick up my supplies for in-home use and to take to the salon for my lazy ass stylist to use. When I walk in, I usually have my hair pinned up and a scarf (that I bought from them) tied around my head. They aren't used to seeing me without a scarf with my hair down, so when I was in the area yesterday and waved to one of the ladies, she didn't recognize me. I said, "I usually come in with my scarf on, so you don't recognize me." She screamed, and walked over to hug me and we just laughed. Lol. It was too cute. They have a lot of variety considering their shop is on the smaller side. My big clips that I use to pin my hair up, their scarves (I own several and bought them for my mom and even my Gran), different hair brushes, hair color for me and mom, relaxer, conditioner, Dudu Osun soap - you name it, they have it and the prices are right. They are always kind and professional. The younger lady who embraced me knows I love their scarves, so she lets me know when they get new inventory and allows me to choose from what hasn't even been put on display. When I say they know their customers, they know their customers. This level of care and service is what's missing from so many businesses. The service, tbh, is why these ladies are 5-star. You can sell anything, but the way you treat your customers is everything to me. They have ALWAYS treated me well, and vice versa.

While I understand policies, it was frustrating because I've shown my license before and have had this same interaction multiple times. The next time it was worst. Again, I come here because of their selection. Today was my last time going. I felt harassed while trying on wigs. Apparently they felt that I was taking too long. However, due to their strict no return or exchange policy which I've had a bad experience with in the past, I felt it was necessary to make sure that I was satisfied what I was purchasing. I spent max 10 minutes trying on wigs and they came to me twice and when I decided to walk out was when the lady told me to stop running my fingers through the hair while I was admiring the texture! I handed her the wig and said "I knew better than to come back here!" They don't deserve my business! I took a picture of the tag and trust me, I will get what I want elsewhere!
