Elder care is a tough industry... it is constantly squeezed by cuts in healthcare-spending, the…read moreinflated-by-design operational cost structure of the industry, a perpetually underappreciated demographic, and challenging health issues endemic to the elderly. The team at St. Martha's is by no means immune to these macro factors; there will be rough spots among the team and within the services. However, this facility does a better job than most of navigating these conditions to fulfill what is clearly a mission-driven desire to help. Yes, there will be long waits on overworked, understaffed teams. Yes, there will be facility issues that go unaddressed for a day or three. However, the place is largely safe, clean (immaculate, really), and staffed with people who genuinely care about your loved ones recovering here. The food is terrific and the dietary needs are professionally managed in a holistic way. They made visiting easy, while still maintaining the necessary controls of such a location. The PT team did am exemplary job of getting my 72-year-old mom back on her feet and moving again. She went from being bed-ridden following a severe bout with sepsis to being back in her own home with 3 stories of stairs (yes, despite her being able to do it, doesn't make it an ideal situation and we are working on that with the help of St. Martha's Independent Living team) in 3 months. If you are reading this review, you are likely in an unfortunate situation already. My advice is to manage your expectations of any of these facilities given the state of the industry overall. After a ton of research done by my sister and me, landing on St. Martha's was an educated decision. That decision had its tests during our mom's stay, but at the end of all of it, I would highly recommend this caring team that ultimately proved their practices with results.

Hello! Personal gratitude and a five-star rating are not enough to truly express my experience at…read moreThe Peacemaker Center. I have been a client of The Peacemaker Center since July 2008 and continue to attend therapy sessions with Judy Reid. I give this practice a 5-star rating for its commitment to peace, health, and safety and its service to the community regardless of an individual's finances or situation. Throughout these past 15 years, I have had to make gut-wrenching decisions. I have worked tirelessly for life-sustaining relationships. I couldn't have made the hard but healthy choices I needed to make without the support of a highly-trained therapist. Judy provided financial aid and flexible appointments both in person and via telehealth. When I was at my absolute worst - lonely and afraid, Judy showed me she trusted me. I began to learn how to trust myself. If you are in an impossible, crazy situation and desire to work for peace and freedom, The Peacemaker Center is a positive first step on your path toward healing.

Over this time I have had the opportunity to not only meet with the individuals working there, but speak with others who have also had rewarding experiences as well. The individuals that contribute to the Peacemaker Center exemplify all of the qualities that one would be looking for while searching for any counseling services. These individuals have authentic care and exceed expectations. I have the unique advantage of being raised in a household of two psychologist parents, and I can speak with confidence when I say that the Peacemaker Center truly makes a difference in the lives of local residents. I have and will continue to recommend this center to friends and family in the future! Thank you for making a difference in our community!

I have been treated like garbage and discriminated against. My parents abused me when I was a child physically and mentally. Children youth services got involved and I was sent here. All the signs were there of abuse in my home and they kept shuffling me from one placement to another where I was assaulted sexually and physically by staff and peers . This place made me worse and created permanent mental health damage. I suffer from Borderline personality disorder and Post traumatic stress disorder. Don't take your children here for any services. You will be putting them at risk of potentially getting worse and assaulted by staff or peers. They have outpatient and inpatient programs where this abuse occurs. Both children youth services and human services have gotten away with damages done to me for now while I was in thier care. Once the laws change in Pa this place we be held accountable for thier neglect and abuse towards me and probably a lot of other people. After reading this and you decide to take your children here, you really need to have your head examined. Don't get involved here. You will be glad and thankful you didn't put your trust in them.
