A small cozy airport. I flew in from Halifax on a small commuter plane at night and walked across the chilly tarmac to the main terminal, which was clean and small. A large window is in front of the people waiting for flights. You can get some great views of planes arriving and departing from there. This is a great airport to arrive to as a start of your adventure to not only great spots like Belleisle Bay, but also the city of Saint John and Bay of Fundy. The Bay of Fundy has the highest tidal change in the world. There is a 16.8-metre (55-foot) tidal range in some areas. The photos that show boats tide to a dock before and after the tides are amazing. A bit of history is on display here that you will see as you walk to the exit. There you will see a large variable pitch propeller developed by W.R. Turnbull, who was born and buried in Saint John, NB. I like these little historical vignettes in the towns I've visited in my lifetime. read more

One of those small airports with a chip on its shoulder thinking it's a major international airport. The terminal is tiny, with surly unwelcoming staff at the gift/coffee shop. Security manages to create long line ups, even when there's only a dozen passengers for the next plane because they are so slow and inefficient. If you're on a connecting flight through Saint John, be cautious if you have any liquids bought after security at your departure airport. Here they make you deplane, walk past the terminal waiting area, and exit land-side. Only to immediately turn left and have to clear security again. There's no waiting directly in the secure zone between flights. So that bottle of water you bought, or bottle of wine, or souvenir maple syrup, yup, they're all taken off you to the gleeful pleasure of the security agents. This being said, the staff working for Air Canada are very friendly and helpful. It's too bad the rest of the terminal's staff lets them down. read more

This small airport offers quick check in, coffee shop, and gift shop, in case you forgot to pick up souvenirs. You never know if your flight might be delayed as it can happen due to weather or delays of the small planes coming from Toronto or Montreal, so it's nice to have a seat and relax, and watch the tv. The washroom has many stalls for a small airport. I don't recommend going through security until necessary. There's nothing on the other side except for vending machines, one washroom, and chairs. read more

The most adorably tiny airport in the world. Don't expect amenities. No, not actually, but this airport is small, clean, efficient, and friendly. There are power plugs to be found if you stay land-side instead of crossing security into the holding paddock. Honestly, you basically have the run of the place. You shouldn't get here early. There is nothing to do. There's a snack bar and gift shop, but one gets the sense that they exist mostly to provide local employment. The people are lovely, but you're not gonna tell your friends about the amazing thing you got. Mostly you're just going to have a pleasant and minimally invasive experience. For an airport, that is actually pretty solid. Pro-tip: the gift shop consists almost entirely of tshirts making lobster jokes about "pot". The double entendre is hilarious, and not at all overplayed. read more

Very small and easy to get in and out of airport is actually really nice for a change! You enter and from curbside can check in and then walk a short distance and go through security. No one at security on this day! After security a very nice waiting area with big windows to wait for your plane! All is on the same level which is a very nice change from those large city airports that you have to walk miles and traverse escalators and walk forever (Vancouver, Toronto & Montreal I'm talking about you!) Only complaint is there is very little food offerings. No restaurant just vending machines! Also like Halifax and Moncton why not put in a seafood shop? What gives? Other than that friendly cheerful and very nice to fly in and out of! read more

It's okay. YSJ is a cute little airport but it has very few options for shopping and food. It's not like someone's going to have a three-hour layover there or something, but overall I find it okay. read more

Somewhat dated memory but sure not much changed. Small airport that, when it used to serve "international" flights from Boston it changed into an international airport by the rolling out of a podium with a "Customs/Duane" placard hanging from it. You get the idea. read more
