I rented a jet ski from this company, but the experience ended in a situation that raises serious…read moreconcerns about how they operate. There was no clear or visible parking guidance where I parked in front of their location at 100 Circuit Rd. The only sign on the building directs customers to a side gate and says nothing about parking restrictions or towing. I also received no verbal instructions about parking when I made the reservation over the phone. At no point was I warned that parking in that area could result in my vehicle being towed. After my vehicle was towed, the company claimed there was signage elsewhere on the property, but it was not visible from where I parked and would not reasonably be seen by a customer arriving at their storefront. Instead of taking responsibility, they immediately shifted blame to the marina and towing company. At no point did they acknowledge that their lack of clear, visible parking instructions--both over the phone and on-site--directly contributed to the situation. Separately, the overall process felt rushed. I fortunately have prior experience riding wave runners, but if I hadn't, the lack of meaningful instruction and the speed at which paperwork was handled would have been concerning from a safety standpoint. To make matters worse, I was initially denied access to retrieve personal belongings from my vehicle and had to deal with the situation in extreme heat (around a 107°F heat index) with my two young children present. This was entirely avoidable. The lack of clear direction, combined with how this situation was handled afterward, is a serious red flag.

For example; the lazy river used to be fast and fun with buckets of water dropping on your head and water spraying and pouring above you with fun stuff to do with people everywhere, but now the river is fully empty and not one bucket or water pipes that leak water onto you are there. When I say zero I mean ZERO! Instead you've got this barren wasteland and husk of what it used to be. (Not to mention but the river is a bit TOO lazy. You barely move forward!) don't even get me started on the rebranding! There used to be this cool turtle guy who was the mascot and things were actually THEMED after him with like lily pads and turtle themed attractions; but now it's this stupid alligator guy who does not look welcoming or full of fun at all. Oh my god and the fountain sprinklers they used to have just don't even work. Like they're there but they just don't turn on at all and it used to be a big attraction there but now it's just dead. I can genuinely name 100 more things that were so much better then whatever lackluster amalgamation they have going on there. This park used to be fun and exciting, but everything that defined the park is gone. If you went there before it all went down the drain you'd know. It's really hard to explain how great this park used to be to someone who's only gone within the past year but it was truly magical. We need to get this park back to its former glory. But until this park gets its s*** together, don't go.

Prior to departure the tour guide assured me and my 18-year-old daughter that we would be back before dark as it was illegal to ride wave runners after dark. We selected the Sunset Tour option with this understanding as it was the first time I had ever rode a wave runner and neither myself or my daughter have ever rode one in the gulf which is quite different from a lake experience where we live. The tour guide was very nice and explained how to operate the wave runner to me and did a great job accommodating my daughter and myself during the tour. However, on the way back we were in complete darkness and could not even see the signs to tell us the information needed for no wake zones etc... The tour guide had to pull out his phone to see what the signs would say and I felt we were in a very dangerous situation. We did not get back to the dock until 9:20 pm - this was over an hour later than scheduled. It was a very scary experience and I had asked the tour guide how many sunset tours he had done and he said that this was his first one. I believe he was around 19-20 years old which was not an issue except for I would question what type of training he has had on time management as this experience could have resulted in an incident due to the risks of driving these wave runners in complete darkness.

This sunset sail boat ride was tuley an amazing experience. There were endless drinks, food, and laughs and we were free to move around the boat as we pleased and were also able to drive the boat! We all felt very safe, as most of us had never sailed before. Grandparents were helped about the boat and too even said they felt very safe. We watched the beautiful sunset, and even saw some dolphins. We originally booked the ride and the day of we had a call come in from the captain saying that her husband had a detached retina, and was in the emergency room getting ready for surgery, but was going to try to still make it that night. He was unable to make it. The wife was very polite and felt so bad but we rescheduled for a couple days later. She truley put her best effort in making sure we were still able to do the sail. Sadly, her husband was unable to come along but she brought her two girls for extra help! They too were very polite and kind. I would reccomend them to anyone and will be going back for sure! read more

We are experienced sailors (50 Years) from Connecticut . We have recently sold our Beneteau 411 sailboat in CT after 23 seasons sailing the New England coast from CT to Maine. We have relocated to the Venice area and are in the process of "checking out" the boating opportunities. A Sunset Sail was a great opportunity. We were quite impressed with the way Capt. Dove and Chief Mate Tim handled boat in some challenging wind conditions of 25 to 30 knots with gusts to 35. The crew served snacks and drinks. Dove and Tim are amazing sailors and hosts. The boat was beautifully configured for a comfortable ride both up front at the bow and astern. They were both friendly, courteous and professional. My son and I really enjoyed an amazing sunset cruise with priceless views of both the gulf and the keys spanning North. Dove continued to offer us refreshments and snacks to include very fresh cookies. :) And the opportunity to take the helm if we so desired. This was the best. Tim was great from the first contact on the phone. He was very helpful for booking a sailing for my wife's birthday surprise. From the first meeting with Tim and Dove they where very accommodating. They are very nice and professional offering great sailing with complimentary drinks and lite snacks. The cruise was just as advertised relaxing quiet sailing out the jetty and around the gulf. I have lived here my whole life and this is great for locals or visitors. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a romantic time with the one they love or just to have some fun getting on the water. It was well worth the money. read more

My sister, cousins and I were down visiting family in Venice and we decided to try the sunset cruise. We had unseasonably chilly weather and still had THE BEST time! (Given the weather, they offered to let us cancel at the last minute, which was unbelievably nice and unexpected.) Captain Dove and Tim kept us warm with lots of blankets and served up drinks, food and freshly baked cookies!! They could not have been greater people and helped us make the absolute most out of the less than perfect weather. We even got to see dolphins!! Can not wait to come back and go again!! read more

The amount of fun I had while on the sailboat "inspiration" is indescribable. My family had signed up for a sunset tour along with the crew of sail venice. What proceeded was a non stop pleasure of smooth sailing. The experienced captain and first mate did everything and more to insure a positive experience. My wife became sea sick and without skipping a beat the captain presented dozens of remedies including ginger ale. My kids would not stop smiling though the entire journey. Cancelled my single Mothers Day sunset cruise reservation mere hours before the cruise in favor of booking 2 people who booked a whole day after me. I had absolutely no options to book anything else last minute...wasted to whole waiting for the cruise just for me to be cancelled off it and ruined my Mothers Day. Owner's whole attitude was too bad...book another cruise another day! No apology..no offer of compensation or reduced rate...just too bad. He had to do it. Sailed with Captain Dove and her son today; they were knowledgeable, and so friendly! The hot July sun was cooled by the lovely breezes sailing in the Gulf. They have two different cruises at night. Both go through some canals in Punta Gorda to view the waterfront homes that are really decorated. One cruise also takes you out into the bay to watch the sunset. The Xmas lights only cruise is about an hour long and the sunset cruise adds another hour. Right after the boat leaves the dock, the on-board bar opens with wine, soda, cocktails, beer, water, coffee and snacks. The captain, we had Sam, tells passengers about some local history, what we're looking at, etc. The mates, Kathy and Sue, are very willing to take photos for you and are fast to serve drinks and snacks. As is usually the case, we did see some dolphins race along with us for a bit as we travel out in the bay. The captain 'parks' and slowly spins the boat around as the sun sets so everyone has a good view and can snap great pics. Then he starts back to the canals and times it just right so it's dark enough to appreciate the lights. We think the price is fair for a cruise and will do it again in years to come.

The tour guide was very nice and explained how to operate the wave runner to me and did a great job accommodating my daughter and myself during the tour. However, on the way back we were in complete darkness and could not even see the signs to tell us the information needed for no wake zones etc... The tour guide had to pull out his phone to see what the signs would say and I felt we were in a very dangerous situation. We did not get back to the dock until 9:20 pm - this was over an hour later than scheduled. It was a very scary experience and I had asked the tour guide how many sunset tours he had done and he said that this was his first one. I believe he was around 19-20 years old which was not an issue except for I would question what type of training he has had on time management as this experience could have resulted in an incident due to the risks of driving these wave runners in complete darkness.
