But there is one thing that has not changed, and today I am finally speaking up. That is the head priest there, Narayana Bhattar. He is arrogant, rude and uncaring. When you walk to the dieties receive blessings or to pray, he will be sitting right there. He refuses to look up from his book or his phone. When you try to exhchange pleasantries as a hint, he ignores you. We endure this humiliation time after time, donation after donation. Today I had to speak up to let people know. Only Bhattar is this way. Not the others. Narayana Bhattar's behavior is not only offensive, but hurtful. Others vistors go through the same, but seldom does anyone speak up. So I am doing so now. So be it known and visitors beware... This is the home of an unkind arrogant priest.

For me, the Chinmaya Mission is more of spiritual organisation, and they use the Vedas (books like the Upanishads) and Hindu scriptures (like the Bhagavad Gita) to teach people how to live a moral life in today's modern world. Other folks might disagree with my interpretation and that's fine - I reckon there's more than one way towards spiritual salvation and to each their own :-) BTW, I really love the motto of Chinmaya Mission, which is: "to give maximum happiness to maximum people for maximum time." I enjoy coming to this mission for the lovely Vedic teachings. There's a Chinmaya Balavihar program which is the equivalent of Sunday School for kids, and there's also other classes such as tabla and Indian classical dance. They also teach Vedic math (techniques for mental calculation), something that I find quite fascinating. The cost of classes are very reasonable too. There's also tons of visiting guest lectures and classes about all aspects of Hindu spirituality. The best kept secret (maybe not so after this review?) is the free yoga class on Wednesday evenings, which I think of as more faithful to the spiritual tradition and combining breath work, unlike most Yoga classes found at local gyms/ yoga studios, which I find for the most part, have been more "westernized". Its a holy, divine atmosphere and everyone's welcome. Absolutely come and check it out, and if you come on Sunday, stay back for the free, communal dining experience after the service! Yelp 127/2018

Food was spoiled on purpose. Will never recommend because the lack of knowlodge they have in wedding planning and preparations. Absolutely disgusting. Good luck dealing with Dave, He's a real piece a work. Money is everything to them and will overcharge and ask for more though your time with them. NEVER WORKING WITH THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. The Priests/Pandits are very nice and you can tell they are knowledgeable on Hinduism. I have never received such an in depth service as I did at the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in Florida.
