I believe that homeowners don't understand the true chain of command when things go awry and what the expectations of having a property manager is all about. The final complaint goes to the trustees who then share their decisions with the property manager. Sage 1 is very accessible when needed and always has a pleasant demeanor for everyone. He is very good at what needs to be done, listening and usually has the good wisdom of a sage! (No pun intended or whatever) He is a good choice for small communities . Sage 1 is one of the lowest rated management Companies and it is well deserved . They are not focused on the overall good Of the community in my opinion . A onsite manager with next to no property Onsite management experience is running Our community poorly at best . He has no credible certifications in onsite Management , and never even went to the Local Muncipal Bldg Dept to get copies of Local code and regulations for 5 months In managing community , 2 board member Went to check on local regulations on a repair Project he had board member view to approve Cost, when she asked if permits would be needed Response was I don't think so , and if they Were his words were "We can always say it Was a emergency" It's disgusting to have a company without Common expected experience place a less Then professional or adequate onsite person In our office. Bill Mosey never says "no" when it comes to scheduling time for needed projects. His recommendations are sound and unbiased. Bill is a very good listener and sensitive to the different needs of the community, and ALWAYS WORKING FOR THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE COMMUNITY. ....plus, he has the experience to point us in the right direction regarding financial, environmental, and engineering services. I was pleasantly surprised after working on the board to understand the stability, accountability, and strength the SAGE1 team brings to move us forward. My interactions with Sage 1 have been greatly disappointing. As there is no one on premises, garbage around the property remains for weeks without being picked up. Snow removal happens at the 11th hour long after most have to leave for work. A railing project begun six weeks ago never completed and the remaining railing were thrown on the front lawn to be later picked up and leaned on bushes damaging them. Four calls to the management office were dismissive and defended the contractor rather than addressing the problem and the railings remain on the ground at this point. The property care is sub standard and the attitude of the office staff is dehumanizing. read more

My initial review of Sage 1 and its board may have been viewed as "criticism" by the management company, but it was born from frustration. The residents were asked at the meetings to report policy violations when we see them. Most of the violations I reported are still there, sometimes over a year later. As for the renovation project stated, since the beginning two years ago, the board has held the community in a grey area. By this I mean they have talked about updating policies, but nothing has happened. At this point, I would be satisfied if either the policies were updated or they give up and allow people to go back to how rules were loosely enforced for the previous 30 years. Holding everyone somewhere in the middle of these causes frustration. If this is your goal, I will stop reporting the policy violations you asked us to. Yes, I was invited to join a committee or the board and I did decline. However, I have shown a vested interest in this community by offering at numerous meetings to help by posting meeting minutes on bulletin boards in the courts, emailed suggested updates to the bylaws as per the management company and the board's request, and took it upon myself to post a section of the summer newsletter to help remind homeowners of an upcoming due date for changing their storm doors. I also am one of the first at a meeting to compliment when I see something positive happen in our community. At the last meeting I attended I was very frustrated when my concerns were met with the response of "well join the board." If this is the unprofessional approach the board or management company takes when I voice a concern or complaint then it will make me and other residents feel unwelcome at meetings. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! Please help! I live in a condo building that was affected by Sandy. I had 4ft of water in my downstairs. Since the the storm, my condo association's management company have been here once. The walls were cut out and replaced with ply wood in some areas, but everyone in the building can see their neighbor's in parts that are not covered. Mice are running through the units leaving mice droppings all over. I have contacted my condo association's management company and reached out to a board member numerous times via email. I have been ignored. When I call the management company Im told my contact, Ann Marie, is on vacation. That would mean Ann Marie has been on vacation for months. My son has severe allergies to mold and needs to take prednisone & benedryl almost daily just to breathe here. This complex is an affordable housing/moderate income building. I believe this is the reasons why we are being ignored. The condo association's management company knows that we do don't have the financial means to sue to have our units fixed. The condo association has confirmed receiving a flood insurance payout as well as federal grants to fix the building, so what are they doing with this money almost 10 months later? My unit can not be sold or rented without a mold fix, electrical repairs or walls. I don't even have hot water. The state wont help because allegedly the affordable housing should be handled through the township (Long Branch, NJ) and the township wont help because we are homeowners. The board of health cant help because we are homeowners. I am a homeowner at the mercy of a management company and board who are could care less that I have no walls, mice, and mold. For this management company and board to take advantage of Sandy Victims has truly sickend me to the point of hospitalization. I need help with making this issue public and exposing this management company and board. Help me shame them all into doing what's right instead of leaving 10 families with pets and childing displaced and/ or living in squalor, PLEASE!! Would you trust a company who would do this?
