Join the legions of people who come here for the Leberkaes Semmel and be glad you did. There are a…read morevariety of meats available here at Albert Klobeck Metzgerai at the northwestern corner of Viktualienmarkt after you leave Marienplatz behind. Upon the high recommendation of my friend who grew up in Munich eating the Leberkaes Semmel when they were as low as 1.5 Euro, they are a steal at the current rate of 3.5 Euro. Leberkaes is a type of meatloaf of pork cuts and spices baked until it has an outer crust. Don't let the idea of meatloaf in the US cause you to hesitate or think this would be boring to taste. It's classic butcher shop fare served hot on a roll that has its own crust. The classic topping is the sweet Bavarian style mustard, but I mixed mine with the spicy mustard. If it were not served so hot, I would have devoured it quicker. It's a great alternative to bratwurst and has a somewhat similar taste, but with less oil and grease. It's simple and great. I could see hitting this on repeat on the regular. 4.0 stars! PS My friend and I were so involved in devouring the Keberkaessemmel, that a woman walked up to us and asked what we were eating and where she could get it. Let me know what you think...

To boot, they had Mezzo Mix, which I have not had since I was a teenager. I walked down to Thomapark and ate that sandwich in short order. It was even better with the MezzoMix. The coleslaw put it over. The meat quality was most evident with the cheese, but the sandwich would have been a little dry without the coleslaw. I had no time to take a picture of the sandwich, given I consumed it so quickly. I give this Metzgerai high a rec. They have other items in a short hot food service and one can sit inside, but the Thomapark by the Starnberger See beckons... 4 quality stars!
