Had the worst restaurant experience ever here.. really sarcastic rude staff, waited 2 hours for burnt food, no apology or explanation. For the record, I didn't shout or get angry at anyone, but was still treated with absolute contempt and sarcasm, like they were almost expecting it?! The food that wasn't burnt was for the most part distinctly average, nothing unusually good about it in any way, just pretty standard tikka/vindaloo/masala/etc. The flavours were quite nice, and it's better than a take away but still.nothing too exciting. Not worth the bad experience. I wasn't even hungry by the time my food came out..it was 10pm and I'd got there at 7.45pm (after having booked).
Much better and more interesting food at the Pepper Hut a few doors down, and the staff are excellent there. I don't think anyone should be shouted at whilst doing their job, and I was a waitress for years so always treat restaurant staff with respect and the same amount of courtesy I expect back. However, the staff and owner here seem to think that they can offer really terrible service coupled with the same kind of food you'd find at any other slightly-better-than-average curry house, and then not listen to the complaints of their customers when they're not getting it right. I saw a few people get pretty annoyed when I was here, which I've never really seen happen anywhere else to this extent, and a lot of that is to do with the lack of respect they have for their customers, and a total lack of manners. read more
