I took the class on Easter Saturday and Sunday 24' with coaches Nathan and James.
Despite them not seeming old enough to be fathers themselves and competing with their endless supply of terrible dad jokes, the course was amazing!
They took time with those who needed it more, but didnt waste time. They were quick to correct mistakes and point at what could be done better for each individual. I personally was stopped and corrected, multiple times, on at least 2 exercised with useful info. In the end every piece of advice they give is meant to help you pass the course AND survive past it.
Nathan corrected many riders and personally stressed the importance of "ALL the gear ALL the time" on multiple occasions + insurance reccommendations for after the class which I really liked.
James did a majority of the examples for us in this course, and gave excellent instruction to myself. Be warned he won't let you even hover over the bike without reminding you "Visor down" or "gloves on" etc.
Nathan and James both had superb timing and exergeration of what was to be expected (ie: if we were to let of the clutch they would fully open and raise their hand above the handle to express it, as if in theatre). They also both stressed the importance of practicing basic skills before "hitting the road" and that we did not got "at full road speed" during this course.
At MAX you will hit 30-35mph during this course, they both did a good job of stressing that we are NOT at full road speed on many roads, and that we should not outride our skills when we do hop on bikes for the first time. Many people in my course were new riders, but all 11 of us passed thanks to their expertise. With only 2 bikes fallen in 2 days, and nothing above 3mph, thats success!
I was happy to tell my Mom that she'd feel perfectly comfortable taking it, as she's been stressed for several months about the thought of herself (and me) riding.
PS. Just watching James' tall ass with his "Pete Fonda easier rider style" helmet cruising around on a grom for examples is worth 265 imo.
Yall kept it fun, but serious. Thank you both! read more
