When this was Safeguard I bought a house Security System from them. Started having problems so contacted them, thereby finding they were no longer the same company but had been taken over by Crimewatch. Asked if they could help and they said no problem and that the call out fee was £85 (plus VAT which they didn't mention). Person who visited seemed OK and suggested some modifications to overcome my problem (alarm going off for no apparent reason). He also suggested replacing the External Sounder and replacement of the Battery, and I was sent a quotation for £127 inc. VAT this time.
Had spurious alarm problem again and arranged person to visit. Whoever it was decided I wasn't in despite both my wife and I being in. His evidence was that a car had recently driven out of our driveway (yes it had so that he could safely get in!). Rang Crimewatch Safeguard and received the most hopeless response.
Went to someone else who turned out to be more methodical and sorted out all my problems for about half the cost this bunch of jokers would have charged me. Feeling about CS was that they are not interested in the small jobs and only in large contracts. They should say so instead of charging a ridiculous call-out fee and doing nothing useful. read more
