Great place. Went to palo duro canyon and stopped here for breakfast and coffee. Love itttt. Highly recommended.

What a fun place! We stopped in here after a day of hiking the canyon. We expected a quick sandwich and drink but got so much more. I enjoyed a wine flight. They had a good number of wines to choose from. Their beer selection was a nice variety to include a great cider. The pizza was nothing fancy but tasty. We got to bring in the new year (early but so fun) with live music, party favors and a champagne toast!

What a cool place !!!!! Such a cool inside AND outside. We stopped on our way in AND out of Palo duro. Nice little selection of rotating craft beers on draft . And a TON of craft breweries cans from ALL OVER available to go. The had quite a few from prairie artisan ales which is always a pleasant sight. We did not try and food , we picked up ice from here twice , a few packs of beer and some delicious monkey lattes !!!! AWESOME place !' And a mini playground area In the back for the kiddos ! Lots of camping supplies and cool gifts and shirts. This is a MUST STOP when visiting Palo duro

Great place to refuel yourself after a hike in Palo Duro canyon. I had the McMonkey breakfast sandwich. It's similar to a McMuffin but 10 times better. They also have some really good coffee. Smooth enough to drink black. I saw they have a great selection of beer on tap too. They also have some really cool Sad Monkey merchandise as well. I ended up buying a couple hats and stickers. They have camping food and supplies if you're camping in the canyon. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

We absolutely loved Sad Money Mercantile! My dog and I first stopped by for a coffee and a pup cup before heading out to hike Palo Duro Canyon. The staff was so friendly, and the vibes were amazing. When our Jeep wheeling plans got rained out the next day, we decided to go back -- this time for live music and lunch -- and somehow it was even better than the first visit! We got the chance to chat with the owners, hear some of their stories, and once again soak in the great atmosphere. They're super dog-friendly, the food was amazing, and the iced lattes are fantastic. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

    Amazing

What an awesome unexpected experience! From the beautiful and majestic Longhorns to the great beer and food. This was the best discovery and the ultimate end to our Amarillo adventure.

Nice store near the entrance to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, just about the time you remember what you forgot. We stopped in twice and got sandwiches for lunch in the park (very tasty), waste bags for our Chihuahua's "droppings", ice cream, a pocketknife and sodas. That's an idea of the eclectic selection. There is a lot of stuff in a fairly small place. Next trip, I will try the coffee and the craft beer. Recommended.

This was the best stop in the area. Make sure to visit. They have high quality, artistic and curated gifts, souvenirs, books, art work, camp goods and food. This is not your run of the mill mass produced tourist crap. The people in the store were friendly and helpful. They had things we needed and we found lots of cool things we wanted. Great views! Good working WiFi! We were told local cabins were stocked, they weren't. We were able to get plates utensils etc reasonable priced especially considering where we were. Some of our best and most favorite gift came from this stop. We will be back next time!

Located on the west side of Amarillo, Pondaseta's black brick building is sharp and modern for an older city like the Yellow City. Inside, there are two large spaces. One is where they brew all of their beers and it also functions as a space for music and guests. The main space is their taproom, where the back wall features a row of taps with all of their in house beers. There was a duo playing music in the other room, and there was a few other groups there. We played a very competitive game of Go Fish and really enjoyed the space there. For my first beer, I ordered the Mind The Gap, which was a bitter in an English pub style. I love a malty beer and it reminded me of some of my favorites. My girlfriend got a Pecan Porter that she really liked. It was dark and roasty. My next beer was their Tea Pilsner, which I never knew was a style of beer. This one was infused with hibiscus tea and I thought it was good. My girlfriend got their cherry lime seltzer. Not for me, but she enjoyed it. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Amarillo based on how great the drinks were. Thank you, Pondaseta. When you walk in, If they have a table available, they will direct you to it, otherwise they will take your last name and tell you to go back outside and wait until they call your name. The menu is fairly straightforward so orders turned around pretty quick and it was a maximum of 20 to 25 minute wait to turn a table. My husband ordered the Hell burger which had the hot sauce on it and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Both were absolutely fantastic as well as the shoestring fries were very good! Hubs really liked that his burger had a ton of peppers on it as well as the hot sauce so he felt like he was getting his daily vegetable allotment, lol! The service was actually pretty quick again, I believe this is because the menu was super simple and they had a ton of regulars coming in. You can also order to go if you don't want to wait as several people did, and my understanding is the packaging is fantastic so just as good as if you were sitting in the restaurant. The place is super small and there are tons of stuff on the wall so it's an interesting place. Service was friendly and efficient and now we can check this one off our checklist that we have been here when driving through Amarillo!
