We moved from an amazing, large public school in another state to Sabot. We enrolled our children in elementary school and middle school. It has been an absolutely fantastic experience. My first ah-ha moment was in our first month or so when my older child was in 6th grade and came home to tell me they had learned how to solve for circumference alongside identifying tree species and age one afternoon while playing in the forest. As a bright child, they could coast and do okay, but Sabot challenged them to develop ownership over their education and to challenge themselves to strive for growth. When there were struggles, the school was there to support. What's more, Sabot provided a safe environment to explore self during middle school - which is such a hard time. Rather than striving to confirm my child and their peers became more sure of self. They left middle school going into their top choice high school program, confident in testing, abilities and self-guided learning. I could not be happier. My younger child is a very different learner, much more tactile and energetic. They have been equally as successful at Sabot and bolstered by unique relationships with teachers and staff that constantly challenge them to pursue passion and interests. They actually need time outside to be able to focus and regroup in the classroom, and the outdoor time both in the forest but also outdoor learning spaces is essential to their learning. The integration of nature and exploration into learning core subject areas has led to a phenomenal understanding and ownership of subjects. For both of my children I had to let go and learn to trust the process as it is different - and I am so glad that we have as my kids are incredible learners and ready for whatever comes their way! read more

Both of my children attended and graduated from Sabot. We had an amazing experience throughout our K-8 years. The faculty was amazing at allowing the children to learn through their own interests. The skills they developed in collaboration and presentation have carried with them into the professional world. I loved how accepting the kids were in middle school as classmates tested different versions of their teenage selves. The rigor of the curriculum prepared my daughter well for Maggie Walker and my son for Trinity. Sabot and these high schools made the college experience an easy transition. My wife and I often felt like we became better parents after learning techniques from the faculty and admin at Sabot. We highly recommend the school for all parents who want their children to learn the skills necessary to thrive in a global/connected world. Our daughter attended Sabot for Middle School (Grades 6-8). Before coming to Sabot our daughter attended a more traditional K-5 school. Her experience at Sabot reinvigorated her love of learning, and prepared her beyond words for success in high school and college. Sabot gave our daughter a level of confidence that persists long past her time there, and helped her discover her learning style. Between taking control of her learning style, and the confidence Sabot instilled in her she has found great success in all aspects of her collegiate career. She is succeeding in the classroom, building lasting relationships, and has found the ability to balance all aspects of wellness. While it is unfair to our daughter not to credit her with her success, it is also unfair not to credit Sabot with giving her the tools for success in life. read more

We decided to move our child to a smaller educational environment in hopes of him finding success personally, socially, and academically. I cannot say enough about the loving support he received from day one at Sabot! His confidence grew each day, those good days turned into months and now we look back at the time he spent at Sabot as pivotal in his development in becoming a confident human again.
