This store also sells a handful of local Puerto Vallarta souvenirs with great prices. The owner was very nice and excellent service. Dulcería Leal also sells select locally made tequila and wines and liquors from Mexico. It is located in Zona Romántica, not far from the boardwalk, overlooking the ocean. I highly recommend. Cheers

Sorry to have to be the 1-star party pooper here, but…read more.. This place was a must stop according to our tour guide since this is where we would find Puerto Vallarta's version of Willy Wonka. And she was right! The variety of treats and goodies are undeniable! And watching the gentleman up front make new batches was really cool! The staff was generous in handing out so many of their concoctions, and it wasn't limited to sweets: there were different types of sweet and savory candies alike. I'm not really into these things, but I liked a couple of 'em that I decided to grab a few bags for home as well as to give away as homecoming gifts. And it's not just limited to candy: they got plenty of souvenirs to boast about: shirts, shot glasses, magnets, etc... Mom got a couple of souvenirs as well. As she prepared to pay, she asked how much a bottle opener is and was told a higher price than what was labeled. Her mistake: it was mislabeled, so she was apologetic about that. She wanted the bottle opener anyway. At payment, there was some confusion about her change. I guess Mom paid with a big bill and they didn't have change, so she decided to just pay in US$. The cashier who dealt with her got confused because in the middle of that transaction, she was interrupted by her colleagues (asking some random questions, I couldn't decipher it at the time.) When she got back to my Mom, she couldn't then figure out what happened last. Mom tried to explain to her what happened (before the multiple interruptions) and it seemed like this cashier didn't believe her. Then her facial and vocal attitude came through. Like... wait, what?! It took a minute when she finally got back on track and figured it out and told my Mom that she is still owed a few bucks for whatever she was getting (insert her nasty attitude here.) Mom explained that she already paid and that she (the cashier) was the one who didn't have change and suggested to pay in US$ instead and that it was the cashier who owed her (or she can give back the big bill in exchange for payment in US$ instead) not the other way around. Then the eye-rolling came through as she returned the money to Mom, then the mumbling, then followed by talking some kinda smack to another colleague standing next to her, and that just annoyed the ***bleep*** outta me. Mom's disappointed look spoke volumes, so I advised her not to buy anything anymore, but she ended up getting stuff anyway. She sorta did a "don't let one rotten apple destroy the rest of the barrel" thing because after all, everyone else was really nice. Well. She's a way better person than me because I, on the other hand, dropped everything I intended to buy. (Cashier was having an off day, maybe?!) Meh. Irrelevant. I could care less that they do not need our business since they are incredibly popular. I get it: this won't ding them one bit. (For the record, tons of people who didn't belong to our tour group did make stops for purchase.) But there is no way I would allow anyone to treat my Mom the way that cashier did AND still make a sale off of me. It really was unfortunate. I really liked a lot of their stuff, but I didn't feel bad, even at the least (I still don't as I write this up.) Most likely will be a long minute before coming through this beautiful city again so that's one reason for not coming back here, but should I be fortunate enough to make a return trip, this place will be a hard pass. Sadly, that one person ruined it for me and managed to get this place on my list of one-and-done's.

The workshop advertises itself as a place to "make chocolate"; I guess I interpreted this a little too literally. The workshop consisted of literally pouring melted chocolate into molds and then adding some toppings like nuts or sprinkles to it. While this was very fun for my daughter who is a toddler, I felt ripped off for this experience. Furthermore, that you aren't even provided enough chocolate to complete your molds is a little disappointing in my opinion. Others in my group seemed to agree. The chocolate itself is very pricy, especially for the quality. It was more expensive than the pricier bars I've seen at Whole Foods. However, if you go to the botanical gardens, this chocolate is sold there but for about 25% more than what is in the shop. It also would have been nice to have had dark chocolate as an option for the experience. I think just having one type (milk chocolate) is an easy way for choco museum to improve. While our host was friendly and informative, it felt like a stretch to call this place a museum. I did learn stuff, but it seems you could only access the "museum" if you paid for a workshop.

This is a great place to get candied nuts for only about 25-50 pesos a bag ($1.50-$3.00 usd). They have a wide assortment of tamarind candies and if you like the circular De la Rosa peanut candies, they have something similar that is a different brand but taste less sweet. The good thing is that they accept visa. If you have a credit card that does not charge foreign transaction fee then paying by credit card would be best since you'll get the best exchange rate. The correct address is shown on the business card in the photo section (284 Augustin rodriguez) If you are looking to buy souvenirs then there is an indoor flea market just a few doors down called the Mercado municipal city market on starting at the corner of highway 200 and Augustin Rodriguez. There will be a lot of vendors selling the same things so price is more competitive there.

Not many people talk about their brunch, but they should. It is easily one of the best hidden gems in Puerto Vallarta. Every dish is beautiful, creative, and full of flavor. From the fresh bread and pastries to the main plates, everything feels intentional and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell the same care and creativity that goes into their dinner menu shows up at brunch too. The presentation is stunning, and the flavors are just as impressive. What really sets brunch here apart is the value. For the quality, the experience, and the level of cooking, it is an amazing deal. It feels like a high end experience without feeling stuffy or overpriced. It is the kind of place you want to linger, enjoy the view, and take your time. If you already love Tintoque for dinner, you owe it to yourself to try brunch. And if you have never been, brunch is the perfect introduction. It is truly one of the best brunch experiences in Puerto Vallarta and we keep coming back for more.
