For the most part the times were really reliable as well. One of our locations the bus was about 20 minutes late, but it was beautiful out so we didn't mind. By foot use the stairs next to Hilti Tools on Heilbronner Strasse. Because of the major construction site called Stuttgart 21 it is not easy to get there with your luggage due to the multiple sets of stairs. Take a very short taxi ride if traveling with heavy baggage to help orient yourself. Front desk helpful as they had my Booking.com reservation and no problem checking in and out- and everyone spoke English. Room 56 a single was as promised, clean, had a mini-fridge, wi-fi internet which was down a few times and a decent bed. Building was older with small elevator, opening window and small shower. Housekeeping kept things spotless and was unobtrusive. There are two buildings but I can only comment on mine the secondary Breakfast buffet had soft-boiled eggs, scrambled with bacon or sausage. Yogurts, veggies, fruits, cereals, 6 sorts of lunch meats and multiple chooses of breads and cheeses kept breakfast varied. Free newspapers, and free parking (a rarity in Stuttgart) was nice. On the downside was the street noise and infrequent ambulances since it lies between two hospitals. During the day it is noisy at the Stuttgart 21 site. Also, they asked to keep room key at the desk. Hotel bar was tiny and underwhelming. Location is close to Milaneo a new mall, an Aldi and of course Main Train Station and the Koenigstrasse at 1.2km a great pedestrian zone with shops, pubs, cinema and anything else you could need. I would recommend Hotel Pflieger for location, staff and overall value.

After our great ride on the cog railway Zacke we only had to take a "normal" tram for a ten-minute…read moreride through the southern part of Stuttgart (passing the attractive Erwin-Schöttle-Platz on the way) to reach the other main attraction for train/tram/rail fans: Stuttgart's Standseilbahn Cable Car. We didn't need a special ticket since the ride is part of regular transportation in the city and has been in use now for 85 years. The two old cars with a warm wooden smell took us quickly 90 meters uphill to what's known as Stuttgart's most beautiful cemetery, the Waldfriedhof. None of the passengers were going to a funeral as no doubt is sometimes the case, and not only the children were excited by the short but very steep ride in the Standseilbahn, which has been declared a historic monument. We took a relaxing hour-long stroll through the Waldfriedhof, glimpsing highrises through the trees and reminding us that although it seemed we were far away from the city we actually were just a short tram ride from downtown Stuttgart. And with the handy connections from Südheimer Platz at the bottom, this funicular railway is very easy to reach. We'll be including another ride on the wonderful Standseilbahn on our next trip to the Swabian capital.

He stays there monthly and they really do treat him like family. The lobby has been sharply remodeled in a modern yet eclectic style. Rooms are spacious by European standards. The Breakfast is fabulous in the Mornings. They offered me countless foods recommendations and even gave me their card to call in case I got lost sightseeing they'd come and fetch me. Made me feel safe considering I don't speak German. If you're ever in Böblingen, I'd highly suggest this hotel. You can't ask for more!

The hotel is far from everything I wanted to do during my stay in Stuttgart. It's over an hour rail…read moreto the airport/ Messe convention center. All the tourist attractions are around 25 minutes to 1 hour away. So we used taxi or Uber a few times which was about €20-50each way. There's a little restaurant next door that has burgers and is decent. The group I was with had a variety of rooms. Of course they are small, most European rooms are. So beware of bringing large suitcases. The fridges are much smaller too. The showers very small and the water would cycle between too hot and too cold without moving it. At first I was worried that there would not be an elevator one to get up to the 4th or 5th floor with luggage. There is one small elevator. It took us two separate trips to get our luggage up and sometimes there would be too many people using the elevator it took too long to wait. I was worried about how close it is to the rail but it wasn't too loud from the room we were in. I thought the staff was wonderful and helpful! The breakfast was good and had a little variety.
