Chiesa di Sant' Antonio Abate is a lovely Roman Catholic Church facing Piazza Dante in Lugano, Switzerland.
It honors Anthony the Great who was a Christian monk from Egypt who lived from 251 to 356. He is known as the Father of All Monks and was a Desert Father. He helped to spread the concept of Christian monasticism. He died at the age of 105.
He is invoked to help against infections especially skin infections like shingles and erysipelas.
Construction of the building stated in 1633. It continued over the next few hundred years. Love the beautiful interior.
