I purchased a new Jeep and put on wide tires. That left me wanting to extend the fenders. I found…read moresome fender extenders and emailed Hawkeye asking if they could install them. Promptly, I got a return email letting me know they could install them expecting three-four hours of install time. I dropped my Jeep off at 1 pm on a Saturday and got a call a few hours later from Andy who wanted me to look at the first fender because he wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the look. I shot over and gave him green light to proceed. Another six hours later, after 9 pm on a Saturday, Andy called to say it was ready for pick up. When I got there, Andy pointed out where he was not satisfied with how the extender conformed to the factory fender. How rare is that a business points out the negative? Frankly, I think the install looks fine. He also took the time to paint the screws to blend in with the Jeep's color. Despite it taking significantly longer than he expected, he honored the install price quote and then followed up with an email to say that if I feel they need any future adjustment, he would do so at no charge. I moved here a year ago from a big city in Texas. Andy represents what I love about Iowa. Hawkeye Auto is a reputable, fair, and honest repair shop. Thanks Andy, I am glad I put my new car in your hands.

A few weeks ago I stopped in here immediately after leaving Auto Toyz needing some advice on my…read moresubs. Multiple guys from Auto Toyz told me one thing I should try, without even looking at my subs/amp. Matt from Hawkeye took the time to look at/listen to my subs, tune my amp, and even tell me what I needed to buy! Later I called with a follow up question and got a call back from Andy who was just as kind and helpful. It's clear they know what they're doing and are happy to help. I will gladly come back and give these guys my business!

I've been promising my husband the gift of tinted windows for some time…read more I let him do the research and find out exactly what he wanted and where. He had heard good things about this location. He sent an email out for a quote. He had good communication on the email and got a time set up. He got a confirmation of a time and scheduled to do the drop off. One small hiccup was that he got a second email not long after. The email came from a different individual trying to confirm the same information, and he thought it was a scam. He didn't answer the 2nd email because he had already confirmed everything through the initial emails and thought it was spam. He went to drop off the vehicle, and they had canceled his original appointment because he didn't answer that second email. Luckily, the gentleman behind the counter was great. He was able to get him in right around the same time frame, and we had no major problems. The husband discussed all the options, picked out what he wanted, and got it ordered. He was able to share options with my husband there in the store. He picked out the 15% in the back and 70% on the front. They let us know that they were only a couple of days out. That still worked fine for us. We got the call a couple of days later, and it was like taking a kid to the candy store. Hubby was so excited to see the tint on his car. He had been wanting this since he got the car. We got to meet Jen and the shop pup Jayla, who startled me when I walked in this time, but was happy for the pup love while we finished up paying. It ended up being about $540.00, which is what we budgeted for. Hubby had a coupon, but it was expired, but that's okay. They walked him through what he should and should not do for a certain amount of time. He still loves it. Thank you for everything.

I had my 2024 Golf R tinted today at Tint World in Urbandale, they did a fantastic job…read more For those who have a VW Golf, you probably know how hard it is to tint the windows on these cars - many places turned me away, or wouldn't do the back window at all, because the windows are smaller in size and hard to get tint properly placed on them. Although they were unable to do the windshield, due to the difficulty and specialty tools involved, they were able to do all side windows and back window and it looks fantastic, I would highly recommend. They were prompt and professional, 10/10 service and communication.

In 2010, I needed an alarm for my new car so I went to AMS. I walked in and saw that Paul was still there. He remembered me and described the stereo he put in my car nineteen years earlier. My new car needed a stereo too. Before discussing any upgrades to my stereo, he had one of his installers find out what my factory stereo had for outputs. He then helped me pick out an alarm system and came up with a stereo that would use my factory head unit and CD player. We picked out a four channel JL Audio amp to power 6.5 inch JL Audio separates in the doors and two channels would get bridged to power a JL Audio subwoofer in the trunk. That system got me through thirteen years without a problem, but it was time to upgrade. An annoying noise on the passenger side was bothering me for two years, so I took the door panels off, but I couldn't find it. When I came in for the speakers and alarm installation, Paul's installer, Jeff put my doors back together when he installed the new speakers. I didn't tell Paul about the noise till I picked up my car. Paul offered to go for a ride with me to find out what it was. He noticed a loose piece of trim on the passenger side of the sunroof. In the parking lot, he took apart the sunroof trim and put it back together. The noise is gone and I am way happier to listen to my stereo without that distraction. Paul is now the president and owner of AMS. If you want to upgrade your stereo or start from scratch with a completely new alarm and stereo, go to AMS and they will help you. A few years down the road, they will remember you like Paul remembered me.
