Kolby and his crew showed up on time, rearranged my 26 foot Uhaul that had been loaded badly already (moving to Alaska from MN). Got everything nice and snug, and then loaded what I needed from my apt and garage with a little room to spare. Kolby and his young crew were very respectful and moved things quickly, asking me along the way what should be loaded or not. My stuff was complicated. Got it done in a minimal amount of time too. The following day, I went to uhaul to pick up a car hauler, only to find out that they could only hook the trailer to the truck and help to load my vehicle, but they couldn't strap my vehicle to the trailer. Also the trailer didn't have straps, it was a toy hauler. I am a senior women, I don't know how to do this. After calling a friend for suggestions, and a tow company that couldn't do it, I called Doug. They were just finishing a moving job, he said they'd be there in about 30 minutes. And they were. Doug went with me into the uhaul store and picked out the straps I needed, and he and Kolby got my Jeep all strapped down. Even checked that the trailer was on the truck hitch correctly. They saved me twice, I am so thankful, I was finally able to get on the road. If you need movers, call Doug. Doug and Kolby are wonderful, and they will calmly, quickly and respectfully get your move done.

Ben and Vern were my two movers, and they were super strong, kind, quick, efficient, professional and had everything packed up in an hour! Once we got to the new place, they unloaded in the same amount of time, and helped me lay out the rug in the bedroom too! They took super good care of my stuff, no damages at all, and were encouraging each other throughout the process and it was great to see their teamwork! I am super appreciative of Doug, Ben and Vern for their help with my move! I would use them again in a heartbeat! Thank you, guys!

At 68, it was more than I could handle, in that short of a window. After closing on our new home, we headed over. The movers were a little early, which was nice. The challenge was, there were only 2 of them. Needless to say, at the end of 2 hours, the mini still had stuff in it. That was with me being fully involved. My wife called and they said they would discount the price. They only took off $120 and we had to pay $460. I would've rather paid the agreed upon amount of $580 and had the job done. I expected better from Unique Movers Sauk Rapids Mn.

I needed them to load a 10X20 storage unit into a 26 foot long Uhaul truck, on Aug 26, 2025. The plan was to load the storage unit and then go to my apt and load minimal things from the apt and garage. They arrived about an hour late meeting me at the storage property. They moved very quickly, but with no regard as to what they were loading. My daughter and I had to watch everything they handled and constantly recall my ammo boxes and long gun cases. I had clearly indicated they needed to be kept in the rear of the truck because I had to declare them at the US and Canadian borders. One crate of ammo was for a handgun that was already in Alaska, and that got loaded and packed in the 'attic' of the truck, buried in boxes of other things. If my truck had been searched by the Canadian Agents I could have been denied entry into Canada or even arrested. Luckily it was found by the movers I had to hire to fix the mess in truck. Other than the guns and ammo, I was ridiculed and demeaned by Joe, the lead mover, for not having Uhaul blankets or ratchet straps to secure the load, and was compared to other people being prepared for out of state moves better than me. ( I have moved cross country several times in my 73 years). And through all that, they could NOT fit a 10X20 storage unit into a 26 foot Uhaul. They got it in there, but it was haphazard, with no room to spare for my things from the apt and garage(which again were minimal). I paid them(which took a long time) and let them go, there was no way I was going to have them move anything more and try to put it in that mess in the truck. I do believe I was over charged at $200/hr when I was quoted $160/hr, but I did not receive a receipt in my email or per text. I paid $748.80, I only want half in a refund, all of it would be better, but they did empty the storage unit. After getting settled in Alaska I sent them a message on Sept 11, on their website requesting to be refunded half of what I paid them, Conner did call on Sept 14, said he'd talk to Joe, but never called me back.. I sent a text message to Conner's # on Sept 22 after he had told me they would be mailing the refund. I sent a second request on Sept 26, as a request for service on their website and Conner called me. He said he would talk to Joe and get back to me. Once again he did not get back to me. At some point I did speak to him on the phone and he said he would mail a check. I waited and I sent another text on Oct 16 to let him know I had not received my refund yet, and being the owner of the company he should honor his word. Then I got a text from Crystal in the office saying she could help me. I explained why I wanted a half refund and we text messaged on and off until Nov17. At that time I asked for Conner to call me and resolve the issue, that I felt I was being strung along, and I was prepared to leave a review on every review site I could fine. He has not called me. I started with the BBB, but unique movers is not a member. So here I am. Don't hire them, their review rating is not good and I did not not pay attention to that. Please see my review of the great movers that saved me if you can find it. I'm not sure I should mention their name here. Thank you for reading all of this, I hope it helps someone.

Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again!

We had to go for the full spa treatment - they packed us, moved our stuff into storage, then move it out of storage and into our new home. The staff were all great from start to finish. The best part is that all the actual movers enjoyed each other and got along well. Imagine being a mover and having to carry a china hutch with your office enemy. Not at all an issue with Kato Moving! Were there a few issues with the move? Sure, but what move goes off without a hitch? One issue with Kato Moving is that they were not great at labeling boxes. Most boxes from the basement were just labeled "basement" despite there being five different rooms in the basement (two storage rooms, one mechanical room, one office, and one bedroom). If they had been better at labeling boxes we would have had an easier time knowing where a box went in the new home. The second issue has been a bit more costly. One of the movers took apart my Ikea bed for moving. Please know that Kato Moving insurance does not cover any particle board furniture. The problem came up when it was put together again at our new home. One of the side rails was jammed together too roughly. That has resulted in the side railing splitting and falling apart. Unfortunately that means I have to buy a whole new bed since Ikea doesn't sell parts. When moving our family motto has always been "Beds are the last thing on so they are the first things off!". If you have two trucks for moving have the furniture on one truck and boxes on the second. Request to have the furniture placed first. Then the boxes can easily go into the correct rooms.

PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING ALEX MOVERS Yesterday, I sent a…read moredetailed written request directly to the owner of Alex Movers regarding the cleanout at 201 Alaska Ave and the condition in which my personal property was returned to me. This situation began after I was wrongfully evicted by a landlord who is both an attorney and an elected official and his wife. (Court Order shows I was wrongfully evicted) They took unlawful possession of my property and withheld it from me for 15 months -- including three months in direct contempt of a court order requiring its return. They did not have ANY legal basis or authority to even touch my property. I asked the owner of Alex Movers for one simple thing: a confirmation that he received my message by 3:00 p.m. today. He did not respond. I also spoke to him back in September, 2025. He sounded like he was going to cooperate, then he blocked my number. My property was returned to me packed in broken down, damaged boxes, with no packing paper or protective materials, boxes that weren't even taped shut, and food and garbage mixed in with my personal belongings -- creating a severe mouse infestation that contaminated everything that was returned to me. Everything was thrown into an unsecured storage unit with no protection for stacked wooden furniture, and my clothes were simply scattered throughout the unit with no attempt to pack or safeguard them. Every item I received back was damaged, contaminated, and no longer usable, and a substantial amount of my property was never returned to me and remains missing. I also have a police report stating that Alex Movers packed and transferred my property during the cleanout. Given the condition of my belongings and the unanswered questions about who handled them, how they were transported, and what occurred during that process, the owner's silence is now part of the record, and I am moving forward with the legal steps necessary to address what happened to my property. This post is being made to document the lack of acknowledgment and to ensure transparency as I continue identifying every person involved in the removal, handling, and return of my property. Anyone considering hiring this company should have the full picture of how my belongings were handled and the condition they were returned in. If anyone associated with Alex Movers has information about the cleanout, packing, transport, or unloading of my property, you may contact me directly.

There's good and bad with these guys... let's start with the good…read more They came out and physically saw our home and what needed to be moved, and we received an affordable quote to move from Silver Lake to the northern metro. They were very accommodating of our schedule, saying that they'd pick up on Thursday and drop off on Friday, which worked for us well. The work that was done was quick and efficient. They were very respectful with our stuff, the only thing we found an issue with was a dented lampshade. Totally expected when moving. As for the bad, the quote we got IN WRITING never stated anything about their inability to work with chemicals or in an area with mice. We lived in town but only blocks from a farm field, and we see mice in the fall on the regular. Once the team showed up the day of the move, they wanted to stop before they started because they said they saw rat droppings. I can say without a doubt, we've never had rats. Ever. They then tried to shut it down again in our garage for the same reason. They refused to take packaged and sealed chemicals, although this was never mentioned to us beforehand either. After the second refusal, my husband asked for the supervisor and he came out and tried to say it was unsafe working conditions, and my husband asked why this was never mentioned in the quote or addressed previously. Again, we're basically steps away from farmland in the fall, this is bound to happen. It wasn't an infestation, but maybe a mouse or two that had been in there at some point. They also tried to tell my husband that there was more than they anticipated. Um, that's on your boss cause he came out and walked the property. We literally only had bought a few rugs for our new place after he came out to do the walk through. It really seemed like they didn't want to do the work, and maybe because it was raining, but that's what they were hired for. The next day, for drop off, they showed up and it was again raining. They weren't keen on bringing the items that were very well labeled (every box and container was labeled on the top and the side) to the places we asked them to be placed. I had a piece of paper at every location stating that was where I would like it, but there's many boxes in my garage that don't go there. I heard one of the movers complaining and dropping multiple f- bombs about having to bring items downstairs. My husband also had an arcade that he was asking to be placed in his man cave downstairs. They told us it was too heavy to go down the inside stairs and too muddy to do in the rain via the outside. When my husband said he wanted in writing when they'd return to move it, it was miraculously not too heavy to get down the inside stairs. I can honestly say we won't use them again, in part because we don't need movers from Hutchinson again, but also because of the frequent excuses and problems we ran into with the team.

I think they were intentionally slow so they could charge us 4x's the amount quoted to me for an entire day (which is only 4 hours for them). They also broke multiple items, even with their "insurance" I was not reimbursed for anything. I also had to have them correct the contract 5 times before they actually got it correct. This company is horrible, if I could give them negative stars I would. This company is so crooked they are a circle! Response: your crew did not take an unpaid lunch break, it was included in the time they added to my bill at the end. They also very much pressure me to tip them because, as they put it, "This company does not pay us very well." Not only was I quoted roughly $1500, and it ended up costing me almost $5K for the service, I ended up tipping them because they know where I live and I didn't want anything to happen to my wife, and your crew took more breaks than they actually worked.
