TLDR; My mammogram and ultrasound took 2 hrs. Not looking forward to coming here again, but I don't have better choices. My previous radiologist cancelled my appointment twice, and they offered to book me a third appointment 4 months out (I already waited 2 months for the first appointment). Not wanting to deal with them again, I booked an appointment with Rye Radiology. They have more procedures than I'm used to...my appointment had to be a certain number of days after my period, and they needed the last 7 years of records. I had to think really hard about who I saw in that time and request record transfers. During my appointment, the mammogram itself didn't take long. But I had to wait for the doctor to review the results and get called in for the ultrasound (which seemed to take forever). During that time, 5 other women sat with me in the waiting area. Finally I had the ultrasound and again, the doctor needed to look at the results. I waited on the exam table a while and was told that they needed more images. So I got some more ultrasounds and waited for the doctor again. This time I timed it: 40 minutes passed between the second ultrasound and the doctor's evaluation. And yes, I was on the exam table the entire time. Mind you, I never spoke to a doctor: the news was relayed through the technician. This entire time, I was bored because I put my purse and phone in the locker. They need to do a better job managing and appointments and at the very least, provide reading materials. read more

Financially devastating and not an office practicing in good faith, to be sure. I went in for my first routine mammogram because I turned 40. They told me my tissue was too dense to see anything so they'd need to take "additional pictures." It was the exact procedure they had done minutes before and they made it sound routine. It ended up costing me $638. All they told me was it was diagnostic but the average person doesn't know the difference between scan and diagnostic will cost you over $600. I asked to talk to administrator Wendy Tutara and left her countless messages and never heard back. My first visit for mammogram and went smooth as can be. I was nervous as hell but the experience was quick, easy and very organized. The ladies working there are all very polite especially the tech. I can't say it was painful because it wasn't, but uncomfortable for max of 10 seconds. Due to covid they take extra precautions so be prepared with mask. read more

I have been coming here for a few years and until this year, would have recommended RR to my friends. Yes, we are dealing with Covid this year and YES, I want to see safety precautions taken but RR has gone out of their way to protect them and not their patients. First, I was left outside in the rain while they had me answer the usual list of "Do you have any of these symptoms" (call pt's the day before to tell them they will have to call the office from their car before being allowed in. Don't make them learn this in the rain outside your door). After filling out paperwork I was brought back to change in the waiting room. You aren't allowed to use the lockers so bring your bag, your clothes and your wet umbrella with you. (How about you at least offer a bag for people to put their clothing in and maybe a place to leave wet umbrellas?) They had so many of us waiting in the waiting room that I had to sit in the changing closet. ARE YOU SERIOUS? You made me wait in the rain and then you jam up your waiting room? I was informed that I would have my mammo done that day but the Drs. are no longer doing breast exams. (You are Drs. You should be taking your job more seriously. You treat people. You need to touch the people you treat. You should be embarrassed) My mammo was done quickly and with the usual professionalism but instead of speaking with a doctor about my results, I spoke with the same girl who showed me where to change. She let me know my results were "fine". I asked if I was even going to speak to a dr (maybe I had a question) and she said no. How do I know a dr even review my results? Did a technician? Maybe this nice young lady with a sharp eye for breast abnormalities? I have no idea. Why not call patients in their cars if you can't stomach the idea of a face to face? This is not what we pay for and not the services a doctor should render. I made sure my insurance company knew that they should not be charged for anything other than the mammo itself. This has turned me off to this practice forever. You know they don't care about you or your health. They should just stay closed. read more

Nice staff but do not expect them to have your prescription or paperwork faxed from your doctor , i have been here several times and they always say that they do not have the prescription. I had my doctor fax it twice on 2 separate weeks and when i called the day of my appointment they still said they had nothing. They had to call my doctors office to get it from them. The day of my appointment as im waiting to be seen, a lady that arrived there for her appointment experienced the same problem, she was calling her doctors office because the staff told her that they did not have her prescription. I couldn't disagree more with Tina M's review. I have been using Rye Radiology for years. I was asked if I wanted their most up to date imaging, but it was not pushed. It's not covered by insurance and only costs $100 more. I decided to avail myself of this and last July, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. Not only were they professional, they were extremely compassionate. My surgeon and oncologist have a very high regard for this facility and consider them a part of the "team". This is the premier place for radiology services for women. All of the staff is marvelous - knowledgeable, caring, and flexible. Dr.LoRusso saved my life by diagnosing my breast cancer.
