Pick up was at Sorrento Pierre where you are provided with safety instructions and wet suits, flippers and snorkelling gear. The staff were very friendly and numerous and were always doing their best to ensure your safety. This is an package designed for strong swimmers especially on those windy days. I really struggled as I was a weak swimmer but my partner had a ball being able to interact so closely with dolphins and seals in the harbour. They did their best to entertain those who did not choose to go under by bringing the sea life aboard like the rock crab. People on board were able to view the dolphins closely too as they approached the boat curious of what was happening. The dolphins approaches our boat to investigate the commotion. They were so beautiful. We finished off the day with a free swim by a common resting area for seals. The seals were really friendly and one pup was even brave enough to approach the swimmers for a play. It was a great experience and definitely something you have to add to your bucket list.

One involved crawling through pipes - A hall of crazy mirrors - some bird spotting - giant games like chess, checkers, connect 4 - definitely for families. Not for solo travellers.

One of the better surf beaches in the area!…read more Patrolled after 10am by the local life saving club, flags and all, it's pretty good for the kids to go out and have a paddle. There's also a lot of surfers here, and it's a great place to take the body board out and catch a wave or two. This is a proper surf beach, with waves (and swells) of over 2 metres; please be careful - as always - around the water... but have fun! :)

However, while you…read morecan swim in the sea, they also have a pretty cool pool at one end, and honestly, I'm actually more of a swimming in the pool type of person than swimming in the ocean (unless I am out far enough where I am not touching the bottom). The reserve itself is pretty cool, especially all of the bollards that are around the place, which has been painted to appear to be people. In fact these bollards seem to be an aspect of Geelong that make the city unique.

Walking upon the boardwalk heading into 'the beach section' you will notice metal plaques on each piece of slats with a name on it, the individuals kindly paid and donated that particular slats for the boardwalk. In the beach section, apart from swimming, you can have lots of fun where there are floating islands where you could play by sliding off a rotating barrel and into the water or simply climb up a large diving tower for that big splash you were hanging out for plus more. You can see many lifeguards patrolling the area that puts your mind at ease as well. If you want something to eat or have a cool drink or treat, there are kiosks there to cater for your needs. They also have a picnic area with facilities or playgrounds if you don't want to get wet - lots to do there. But what this beach is famously known for is their Baywalk Bollards, scattered all over the place. Each set of bollards represent a story of the city's past, the bollards are from old timbers and piles from a city pier and transformed into beautiful work of art by an Australian artist Jan Mitchell. If you want to know the story that goes with the bollards, there is a book available for purchase from the Carousel at the Waterfront. And yes... I couldn't help myself, I had to take a photo of myself with these characters. You could easily spend a whole day there with plenty to do and see.

The north end appear to be where single men meet & the middle is usually more couples oriented & entire families are often at the middle & south end of the beach. This is our favourite Melbourne beach & my wife & I love it there.

This beach is easily accessible and reasonably private, considering it ajoins a camp! You can get…read morethere via a 5 min walk along a thin path, starting out North from the car park or by walking directly on the rocks around the bend. As this beach faces the bay, the water is cool and calm and it is a bit more protected from the weather and elements than some other beachs (such as point impossible) As with all nudist beaches, the creepy male presence is high and detracts from the experience, especially if you are female. I actually ended up confronting one particular man after he stared at me non stop for a good 30 min. Also had a funny moment with a passing by stand up paddle boarder who I thought would fall into the water considering he didn't watch where he was going for a good 5 min until I waved and he promptly pretended the water was more interesting. I was pleased to see that I wasn't the only women on the beach (as I often am) and that the people were quite friendly. We ended up meeting a few nice people who chatted easily and shared stories. Unfortunately some of these stories were about sexual assaults perpetrated on the beach :( I encourage women to frequent places like this and speak up and report inappropriate behaviors. This is the only way we can change the sexist culture and enjoy our own freedoms. Ladies, next time you feel gawked at, say something. You'd be surprised by how well supported you will feel by the regulars who frequent this beach and want everyone to feel safe
