I am a retired mechanical engineer (BSME 1969) and have always been impressed with Heyward's knowledge and diagnostic ability. If you see a negative review (about not keeping an appointment or calling) I'd bet whomever posted that was confused about who they had called since in my experience Heyward has always been very punctual and I can't believe he would fail to call anyone he had an appointment with if he was not able to keep it. I strongly recommend him!

I said to him that I had just paid almost $1700 for looking into this issue along with repairs for other services the diagnostic revealed needed to be done and I didn't understand why I had to pay again and the original issue was never resolved. I am sure the average person would question paying additional money but I guess I'm not average because it insulted him. I understand if I needed to pay additional money for parts or the labor for actually getting the issue fix, but I was asked to pay for the tech to look into the same issue I just paid him to look into a few days prior. In fact, the same day I went to pick up my car, I had to turn around before I got home and bring it back for the same issue. After immediately bringing it back the technician (Shaun who was very nice and helpful) stated he would need more time to look into it and to bring it back the next week because they are closed on weekends. Well after I brought it back on Monday of the next week, I questioned Mr. Owner, (Alex ) and he sat erect in his chair and with a raised tone of voice began to read very aggressively from the computer in front of him spewing a list of services that had been done on my car saying none of them had anything to do with what I was currently there for. He stated that he didn't appreciate my insinuating his business did something wrong and that I needed to leave! I said to him I understood what he was saying but I didn't appreciate his delivery and his business may not have a successful future if he speaks to customers in this manner. He became indignant and stated "he didn't need my business and that he had several successful businesses and as the owner he could do and say anything he wants to and there's the door you can leave !" I want Alex to know that my business/$1600 may not mean anything to him but it was a huge sacrifice for me to pay and if future customers are treated in such a way, those dollars or lack of dollars add up and customer retention can make or break a business. So now I am out of lots of money and still can't see to drive after dark because of an electrical issue causing my headlight bulbs to blow out has not been fixed. So I would think twice about taking your vehicle here or you may end up spending lots of money and then told you aren't valued as a customer and to get out of the establishment like I was told to.

When the motor returned from the machine shop, that price went up to $8500 because he said he underestimated the cost of the machine shop work. The lack of communication was unreal. Then the week of installing the engine he gives me a bill for $11,984.01 because he said the quote did not include his labor. Additionally, the parts HE ordered (headers, radiator) did not fit. His solution to this problem was for me to reorder these parts at my own expense!! And he was very disrespectful about it as if I ordered I made the mistake! It took ALL of my military bearing to remain calm with this guy. He initially told me he had to order all of the parts for this project and now he wanted me to order parts for a misquoted job. I refused! I forfeited my engine and deposit and just took it as a horrible and costly experience. I wasn't giving him anymore money because if you're incompetent enough to order the wrong parts then who knows how the motor will run..especially for nearly $12k!!! I was fooled by the good reviews and did not read into the bad ones, which point out the same issues I experienced. There were several flags you should pick up on if you ever consider using this place...heck I should've picked up on these flags but he starts off very professional until he gets your money of course. 1st flag: the business does not take Visa, Mastercard, etc. or that's what I was told. I had to pay all in cash. 2nd flag: his quotes are very vague, sketchy, misleading and he won't give you much in writing. 3rd flag: he is a very rude guy who lacks customer service skills. He will turn belligerent as soon as you question him on something. 4th flag: He rarely has any customers at his shop. (This is when I realized I had been scammed) This is a shady establishment, please BEWARE!! Don't be like me, READ THE BAD REVIEWS and do your due diligence.
