Today I waited an hour to get a script refill... should I be expecting $100 in the mail for my time? It's clear this clinic is more about profit than professional care. The staff run around frantically. Stresses are high, 1 ailment per visit policy, no results or prescription refills over the phone... it feels like patients are a burden to the staff at this clinic. The clinic is also filled with copious amounts of bulletins, rules and regulations taped all over the walls. Several of the notices were announcements from 2019/2020... it's 2022... it looks trashy and the clinic clearly lacks responsible leadership and management. When I asked about Telehealth options for their physicians I was told,by my now former doctor, "Telehealth is the death of family care. No we don't offer Telehealth." I firmly disagree. Capitalistic "healthcare", bolstered by horrendous service and lack of professionalism will be the death of "family care" and this clinic. Adapt or be overcome...this was my final visit to this poor excuse of a clinic. 1 star because Yelp doesn't allow 0 stars.

The great thing about Dominion is that my location (Century Park) called the MacTaggart location to find out how many people were waiting. It turned out to be 3 and they added me to the list. By the time I drive there (which was only about a 10 minute drive) I was at the front of the list. This Dominion is much like my own. Nice, modern and clean. Staff are very friendly and polite. The Doctor I saw was very personable. I really don't have any complaints from my visit here. What I will do next time though is my location can sometimes be busy. If it is I will ask how many people are waiting in MacTaggart. If it's a much shorter list it is worth the drive to that location.

I've always found it easy to get an appointment with my doctor, but when she has been unavailable, I've seen other doctors at the clinic (at least four) and been comfortable with them all. Since all my charts and files are kept at the clinic, whichever doctor I see has my history there, and my regular GP can access them next time I see her. The thing I love the most about this clinic is that it is also a walk in, and my doctor reserves a couple of walk in spots a day for her regular patients. When I have had need of walk in services, I've been able to call the clinic when it opens and often get a quick visit with my doctor. I hate going to the doctor, so if I like a clinic, it's worth sharing!

I waited for 30 days to get in with this doctor; I had been searching for quite some time for a female doctor taking on new patients, so I was very excited to have finally found one. However, after one brief meeting with this person, I can see why they are one of the only doctors in Edmonton who does not have a full patient load. I arrived for my 1 o'clock appointment and waited at least five minutes before I was even acknowledged by the receptionist, who was busy loudly talking on her cell phone to what I can only assume was a friend, because the conversation was clearly not about work matters. Finally I was checked in and waited 50 minutes before being roomed. When I inquired as to why it had taken nearly an hour for me to be seen, I was told that the doctor was on her lunch break. Not sure why patients are scheduled during a break time, but I chose to continue with the appointment as I did have some concerns I hoped to address with the doctor. The doctor finally arrived, shuffling into the room as if she were half asleep, made no eye contact with me, did not greet me, and began to grunt 1-2 word sentences and questions at me. "Previous diagnoses?" I replied no. "Meds?" I explained what meds I was on and she snapped, "so then you DO have diagnoses then. Blood work?" At this point I am trying to contain my frustration, but again, hoping to at least address the reasons I am there to see a doctor in the first place. I begin to explain that I have in fact had recent blood work and that I was concerned with some of the results, including high cholesterol. Her response was, "everyone has high cholesterol". At this point she has still not even looked in my direction and continues typing on her computer. It was truly taking everything in me not to walk out of this appointment. I decided to address my current issue that I came to see her for: some concerns with my hormone levels and reproductive health. I went on further to explain that I had not had my period in 6 months and that I wanted a pelvic exam due to some other concerns. The doctor then asks me if I have a picture on my phone of my private parts. I was confused and slowly replied, "....no...." She then states, "I can't look at it today, next time.... unless you want to go take a picture in the washroom and come back so I can look at it." Again, completely confused and shocked, I inquired as to why she could not simply examine me today in the room to address my concerns, to which she replied, "too much trouble". At this point I had lost all patience. I said, "Okay, well then this is not going to work, and quite frankly, you're just being lazy." She stood up without a word and began to exit the room. I then added, "I wonder what the CPSA will say about this?" to which she replied, "whatever, I don't care". Not only could she have maybe respectfully told me she did not have time for the exam, that we would schedule it for next time, or just acknowledged my concerns in the slightest, but she also spoke to me with zero basic respect and completely belittled me every time I spoke. I mainly want this review to serve the interest of others; I would hate for a vulnerable person with an illness to see her and be dismissed the way I was and to have their condition worsen. From the other reviews I have read, this is unfortunately not even a rare experience with this person, and it seems that no one is addressing the very serious concerns around her conduct. A complaint has been filed to the CPSA, I have so much more to say as the clinic has since harassed me but I am at max characters! Please please don't waste your time going here unless you want to be extremely disappointed. Since this appointment I have received a call from the manager John who continued to justify and defend this incompetent doctor despite my many anecdotes and concerns. The PA Wendy is also EXTREMELY rude. I received a call yesterday asking for another patients name "Darlene Bennett", and despite me telling her I was not Darlene but Sarah BARRETT she accused me of lying and said "tell your mom we have her blood results.", and hung up. Speechless and confused I called back to try to understand the situation. The receptionist said "this is the phone number for Darlene and you have the same last name.. (we don't)... and she continued to not believe me that I wasn't Darlene. I cannot make this stuff up.

My only complaint is the wait but, then again, what medical facility don't you have to wait at. I've always found my techs to be friendly and gentle. We always make a bit of small talk and then get down to business. They seem to always compliment me for how I react to having my blood taken (I don't know if it's because I don't faint or flinch, but it's something). I know that sounds funny but I enjoy compliments no matter where they come from or what they are about! The people at the desk are sometimes not as friendly but they deal with a lot every day. Overall, I like this location. It is convenient and I have never had a bad experience there.

They just told me I have to go and drop the sample at this lab. I went with the sample and the lady at the front desk looked at the sample and told me there is no label and you have to label the sample. I asked for a label to fill it out and put it on the container, but she said there is no such a thing and I have to write my information on the label that was on the container. So she made me write all information, on a container full of urine, in front of a bunch of people and I don't think that is right. I understand this business has monopoly and people don't have any choice but going to their lab, but I have a suggestion for the higher management of this company. If your management team is just made of a bunch of medical doctors, go hire someone who has a designation in business and knows about customer service and knows how to actually run a business. Just think about this situation and imagine you guys were in exactly the same situation. A label costs less than 10 cents which a patient can use to write the information and put it on a container! Just think about it for a second!
