I wanted to order in time for next day delivery so I didn't pay enough attention to the fact that they were not actually local. I ordered flowers, balloon, and teddy bear with an expected delivery of the following morning. When the time came and went, I called asking for a status update. I was told not to worry, they'd arrive by EOD. As the end of the day approached, I called about 4 more times because no one could tell me where the driver was. I contacted them via email and the response responses I was getting made me feel like this was a scam. The way they were wording their sentences just didn't seem right. They said they would have to get in contact with their delivery service and see the next day. It was a very significant and personal anniversary and I chose Ruth's Roses because it indicated same day delivery and website show cased beautiful floral arrangements. When I placed order- delivery was "free" but there was a service charge $18 and change. 1/29 I was leaving work- no text or email that the flowers delivery was made. So I emailed and called. On the phone, I was told "Due to an unforeseen supply issue" flowers would be delivered tomorrow 1/30. So I asked since your website says same day delivery and you are not delivering on the day requested- can you remove the service fee. I was told no. 1/30 around 430p, l left work- no email or text that flowers were delivered. I sent email and called. Told my order was being worked on!! I called prior to ordering to confirm if this was accurate and they said yes. I ordered my flowers Monday and expected my flowers to arrive on Monday. I received an order confirmation and that's all I receive. I did not receive a tracking number. I did not receive a photo of the flowers. I did not receive a delivery confirmation. For the next 24 hours I received nothing. I called the following day around 2:00 p.m. asking where my flowers were, and they said my order is under investigation. So I wanted to cancel my order because it was late. They said they could not cancel my order because it's "under investigation" They delivered the flowers Tuesday late afternoon, but didn't tell me until Wednesday. The lack of communication was extremely frustrating. Just because they made the delivery does not mean the order was correct. I needed those flowers to be there at a very specific time because this is a sympathy bouquet. When I called the store, they were completely unsympathetic, unapologetic, and unaccommodating. I was traveling on March 14th, about 3-4 hours from Columbus, OH, for the funeral of a close friend, and was already dealing with grief and stress. My experience started poorly when I called about a pricing discrepancy on the website. The representative, Brittany, was unprofessional, repeatedly insisted I was wrong, and ultimately hung up on me. I called back and requested a manager. The manager was polite during the return call and offered a small discount, but the process was time-consuming and stressful during an already emotional time. Unfortunately, the service continued to decline. At 11:26 a.m. on the scheduled delivery date, less than 30 minutes before the promised delivery window ended, I received an email from Dave stating the order could not be fulfilled. At that point, it was too late to make other arrangements through them. In the end, I had to rely on a florist in my own community, who stepped in compassionately and professionally to help me handle what I had to before making my drive to Kentucky. I understand that issues can happen, but customer service, communication, and compassion matter, especially when customers are ordering sympathy arrangements during a time of loss. Sadly, the experience ended just as poorly as it began.
