They sent me a notice for yet another class action tort. This time it is the "domestic airline settlement". I resided outside the USA during the entire period cited in the notice. I bought no qualifying domestic airline tickets.
The notice opening line said, "Our records show you may have purchased a domestic airline ticket from American, Delta, Southwest, United, Continental Airlines, or US Airways between July 1, 2011 and June 14, 2018.". I wrote them demanding access to the "records" containing my name. Their response was "Thank you for your email. At this time, there is no flight data available to us, the Administrator". That is what I call a contradiction.
I wrote them again demanding that they name the airline that gave them my name. I received no answer.
Clearly they did not get my name from any of the cited airlines. They pulled it off a mailing list. I would not be surprised if the list was obtained illegally. read more
