Cheeky. Besides all the ruckus, they have 30 different kinds of lavender and they sell quite a few gifts and plants out of their garage store. The puppies won't stop herding you. They also have a festival coming up July 13 if I remember correctly. This place is so much fun!!!

When we pulled up, the gates were locked, but the sign said they were open seven days a week 10am-4pm until September 15th. It was noon September 8th. When I told him we'd come all the way because the website said they were open, he told me, without a hint of apology for our wasteful trip, "when you get your own lavender farm, you can make the rules."

I thought that the sign was left over from some business that was long gone. I'm glad that today I was so desperate to get some potting soil that I looked up their phone number and called them! SURPRISE--YOU CAN'T SEE ANY OF THE NURSERY FROM THE HIGHWAY! You turn in off the highway into the construction yard, where nothing seems to be happening, and the entrance to the nursery is on the right, out of view of the highway. Secret Gardens is absolutely beautiful, and reminds me of the Portland Nursery on SE Division St. in Portland, Oregon, which, like Secret Gardens, is so enjoyable because it really feels like a garden as you walk around and look at all the plants, pots, etc. At Secret Gardens, the prices are lower, but just as in Portland, the plants look healthy and vigorous, there's a wide variety, and the staff is friendly and relaxed.
