Please hold this on a different road. 41 is a main road and people need to get places.

This was my first year attending the Sunshine Music Festival at Vinoy Park in downtown St Pete, and…read moreI thoroughly enjoyed a day of great bands! Between two stages keeping the live music going all day, the sets were primarily rock-based, including bands with heavy soul & jazz influences. The selection of artists was outstanding, and I only wished the weather was warmer so we could have stayed later into the night. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but once we accepted the fact that we'd have to walk several blocks, we found plenty of free public parking in lots north of the beach volleyball nets. The entrance was not as far south as I've seen for other ticketed festivals & events at Vinoy Park, yet with only two gates, we had quite a wait to get inside, hours after the event began. Interestingly, one gate's line was long but very orderly, while the other gate was a chaotic mob of people with no visible movement. I chose the civilized line. Bags were checked & we were wanded, but security wasn't as tight as the slowly-moving line indicated. We were able to bring our own chairs & easily found a spot in the grass near the main stage. Lots of local food trucks were on-site, along with beer, wine & cocktails at separate booths, plus many vendors selling jewelry, shirts, sweaters, hats, etc. The alcohol options were rather broad for a festival, but unfortunately, cash-only. Luckily, I did have enough cash to share two 24oz domestic beers with hubs ($11 each, Miller Lite or Yung lingerie cans). FYI, an ATM was available, but I didn't check the fees. And merchandise vendors did accept cards. Port-a-potties were plentiful at the south end of the park, with minimal wait. They were well-stocked but still nasty. Hubs said he saw a hand-washing station but I didn't & was glad I'd brought hand-sanitizer. Vinoy Park was a beautiful setting for the Sunshine Music Festival, with a relaxed vibe & great music. What a fun afternoon! I'm definitely interested in attending again next year.

Many vendors were set up selling food, as well as lots hippie type items. There was alcohol for sale for those who like to drink, and plenty of port-a-potties. Nearby parking was very scarce, so walking was mandatory. The scenery was nice, though, overlooking the water. I would like to attend again.

Whether it is a hand painted local artist drawing on a building, a super detailed mural, or an art gallery somewhere. Every step you take, you will find something. I didn't come for the festival per se, but I came to see what is left from it. Beautiful art on the walls are everywhere especially on Central Ave. and in the back of Central Ave. You can take a paid tour, or just do your own. Everything I see makes me smile, and I wish I could be as artistic drawing wise as I am with coming up with the ideas. I'm happy we can see them here every where we go.

If you want to graffiti why not make it as an art for people to enjoy. The Shine Mural wall art is something that you should not miss in this city. I am a fan for this type of art that is lasting. You can enjoy the art while you walking the street. This year something to remember is our old city pier will be demolished and a new pier will be build to last for another 100 years. Who know the old pier is the upside down pyramid. There are so many of my favorites in my book while we are visiting. There is one piece of art make good use of corner wall and make it become table edge. There is an awesome shark tooth attack. I have attached the newest painted pieces in the photo that you just need to follow the printed address for locations. Some of the old painting that you may encounter and they are very good. I would say go enjoy yourself if you want to make this a jogging trail.

The weather was extremely poor, which significantly affected the event, yet it still went on without any real adjustments or consideration for guest comfort. Long waits in the cold and rain, general disorganization, and a lack of clear direction made the evening stressful rather than enjoyable -- especially for families with children. The overall experience did not come close to what was advertised or priced. When we reached out afterward, customer service was slow and unresponsive, and a refund was denied despite the circumstances. The alternative offered was a future-use gift card, which isn't helpful if you're unable to return. To make matters worse, the amount offered didn't even match what we actually paid. Between the event itself and the way concerns were handled afterward, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. We would not recommend this event based on how it was run and how customer issues were addressed.

I don't know if I could name one local brewery that wasn't at this festival... plus, there were many home brewers, and soon-to-be breweries here as well. What an amazing job on bringing the entire community together! I tried just about every non IPA at the festival, and briefly chatted with just about every brewer. I think the longest I ever waited in line was about 45 seconds. What a lovely change of pace compared to other popular beer festivals with long lines for each pour. I heard that the food situation was a bit rough, but luckily, I had just eaten before coming out. Regardless, I'm kicking myself for not knowing about this event until now. It's unbelievable, and I'll never miss it again.

But I have to say, my favorite beers tasted were from newcomer Croxbone, a ghost pepper beer which was spicy and intriguing, yet well balanced and an excellent mango saison. It was very nice in the Florida heat to attend an indoor festival at the Coliseum, and the crowd was enthusiastic but not rowdy. The live music was a nice touch as well. The three hour time period seemed a little on the short side but there was a VIP access option of an additional hour.
