At Buffalo Exchange, my items get me $90+ in store credit. At Fashion Runway, they've given me $15 and $0... And even when you do try to buy a few things, there's rarely anything you actually want to spend that credit on - it's mostly old-person outdoors under layers, stretched-out tank tops with built-in bras, generic boho Free People, and outdated tops, dresses, and jumpers that nobody really wears anymore. The policy is where it really falls apart. They require everything to be washed within 24 hours before selling - while I understand why, this isn't realistic for anyone with a job or a imperfect dryer. I started washing clothes three days ago and finally finished everything this morning and was declined all of my items. They simply asked me to rewash my items again... After all the rewashing, drying, and rushing to make their deadline, I will be able to have just driven to the valley, gone to Buffalo Exchange, and left with good pieces and actual store credit. Despite other reviews, the staff have been fine. The young employees have always been sympathetic and kind. The problem isn't them - it's the policies and the way this place is run. You're having teenagers enforce policies they don't agree with, earning yourself bad reviews, and these teens are going to have aWeSoMe experiences that lead them into adulthood. read more

What in the world was this place? lol The men's selection is very small - mostly cheap clothing spare a few decent pairs of jeans of sevens and AG but odd sizing. Their pricing on the shoes are absolutely laughable - $85 for some beat up Hookas? they had some raged levi's for $38 which can be bought brand new for $10 more - not even vintage. i've tried donating to the store twice and both times have been a mess. Neither times they sent me a text about my items, and I had to call them to check in with my bag multiple times. The first time I was able to receive my cash offer, however the most recent time they had no communication and proceeded to donate my items, my bag, and only provide store credit. I do not recommend donating clothes to this company and I am very unhappy with my service. read more

I can attest to all the other horrible reviews this business has. The employees need to be re trained in customer service so badly. I walked in to sell some clothes today, I was told to fill out a form while a nasty, mean girl was talking horribly about a lady that had brought their clothing in also - directly across the counter from me... After dropping off, they said they'd text in 30min to an hour for my offer. I waited around in bend for 2.5 hours and called to check in. The girl who answered the phone was a BITCH. The worst attitude, I can't believe she had the confidence to treat a customer that way and still be employed. I believe her name was DYLAN and genuinely someone needs to sit her down and chat. I have been coming here since before the pandemic. Like many people I work at home, so always checking out the activewear etc as well as Free People and jeans for going out/concerts etc. They have a steady stream of new items. I read through some of the reviews about rudeness and have personally never experienced that, Ellen the manager is great and the other ladies are also really friendly and helpful. The only thing I'd give notes on is perhaps a slightly higher % for clothes when they are sold, however, I do look at a lot of the prices on Lululemon, Free People, and other big brands, and they are well below instore prices so its a trade off. As far as the wait, yes sometimes it can be long, but it totally depends on time of year etc, and they do text so you don't have to just wait around which is nice. They are open if you want to ask price on a certain item they took, and its too low, you can pass which is nice. Definitely a great local option in Central Oregon, before you had to go to Pdx or the valley to buy second hand options, now its very convenient to go in. read more

I went here the first time about a week ago. I've sold at other runways many time and I have never had issues with them. But this runway is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. When I went to drop my stuff off they were very unhelpful and uncooperative. They barely talked to me and asked for my phone number over 6 times. She never gave me a time estimate on when my stuff was going to be done. They held my stuff for over a week to take nothing. All the stuff I brought in was on trend, clean, and in good condition. I got a call today asking me to come pick my stuff up in which the girl who called me was unprofessional and rude. The call felt like a humiliation ritual. She was extremely short on the phone and had a rude tone. She stated that I needed to pick my clothes up today. And how my clothes were "hazardous". This is not true all the clothes were washed the day before I brought them in. And she stated that my clothes were such a "hazard" that she couldn't take anything. And that I needed to come in right now because of how dangerous it is to the employees. While also complain to me that there are way too many bags and how they can not go through all of them. Is that not her job? I have never been treated like this by an employee in my life. And have never had any complaints about my clothes selling in the past. This experience was absolutely awful and I will never be stepping foot in the store again. read more

I've tried to "sell" items there twice, they are very selective which I understand so when they took 3 items and then texted me and told me to come pick up items about 30 minutes later I called to ask how many items they kept and their response was they couldn't tell me over the phone. I live quite a ways away and I didn't want to have to take another trip back so I called the manager and asked her and she told me the same thing that they couldn't tell me over the top phone. I explained to her that I was quite a ways away I would like to know if it was worth my trip back or not so she told me they kept all three items, I don't understand why the text said I needed to come pick up my ups so I asked her that she was very rude and said to me well if you would've listened to me, I just explained that to you. She did not explain it to me. I felt belittled talked down to, and I think that if you're of a certain age i.e. 50+ you're treated differently. read more

I've never sold clothes here before, but I've shopped with my friends a few times. I had three pairs of jeans that I wanted to sell. They were American eagle and Levi strauss, and had each only been worn 4-5 times. I called before I drove the 40 minutes to see if they had any specific instructions for bringing clothes in (because some consignment stores are picky). I told the gal on the phone that I had three pairs of jeans that had been washed yesterday, and she said to bring them in a bag. I drove in, and left the jeans with my information and said "there's just three pairs of jeans in there" and the gal said "okay" so I waited for an hour and got the text that they were done. So I went back, and they didn't take any of the jeans and they told me "yeah we don't take skinny jeans" would've been nice to know before I drove 24 miles and waited for an hour. Also everytime I come in with my friends, the girls that work there are not kind. B words to be exact. They seem genuinely unhappy to be living. read more

I've gone here a couple times to bring clothes and never really had a great experience. The ladies at the counter are typically rude and act like it's a High-end boutique shop with all the attitude. I just brought a full bag of designer mens clothing that was washed on Sunday to bring in. Thinking they were closed on Monday for New Years, I go in on Tuesday, 36 hours after they were washed and they refused to look through the bag. What a joke...Smh! I've sold a lot of clothes to various companies, and Runway won't be a place I'll waste my time again. I'd prefer to head to Portland and sell to Buffalo Exchange or any of the resellers up there before stepping into this place. Just look at the reviews they have on all of their platforms. This store has to be a joke I have never once wrote a review but with this place i just had to. i walked in and and uncalled for glance followed by a massive eye roll appeared in my direction. I seriously couldn't even believe i wasn't greeted when i entered the store, the smell was like moldy cinnamon. First thing i look at is basic tank tops for 25 plus dollars while getting eyed down by the employees, having to listen to their loud conversation and seeing them all huddled behind the counter, clearly not doing their jobs (unless their jobs is being mean to customers) as i was looking through the old and warn down selection they call high end fashion i picked out a few over priced items to try on. Then i asked the worker to open the dressing room who replied with "yea, they are actually closing" even though the store didn't close for an hour. Every time i try to sell clothes here it is an absolute catastrophe and waste of time. Takes multiple hours to look through a small bin of clothes with an outcome of 50$ for 100s of dollars worth of clothing. They have the tendency to say it will take about 3 hours to look through the clothes and you will get a text when it's ready, then never text you. when you go back in the store to ask if they are done looking through your clothes they ask if you can come in a different day because they didn't get to it or their "buyer left early" The workers are lazy and more often then not wont even look through your clothes and say they did. Unless you have ALL DAY to sit around and wait for them to reject 99% of your clothes and rip you off for what they do decide meet their standards i would take your business elsewhere. I used to love this place. Pretty decent selection of clothes. Every time i went i starting liking it less and less. Most of the workers are mean, and short with you. It gets much worse... i started selling my clothes with them. You can only bring one bag at a time, which is a pain, if you haven't washed it within 24 hours they can't take it which is dumb, and they will literally have a panic attack if you haven't. That's not even the worst of it. I brought in a massive bag of clothes that were all in good condition brand like Pacsun, American Eagle, even Lululemon i had literally worn once (which i got an absolutely absurdly awful price for) all together with this bag that had hundreds worth i received 48 dollars! Another time i was trying to sell clothes they told me it would be 2 hours, i waited around for literally almost 3 and went in and they told me they couldn't go through my clothes after i waited around in bend for hours. I called asking, if they knew if they had a very generic clothing item ( black rain coat) in store. I got a snip-pity rude associate ( T'halia) who told me she didn't know and I should come down to the store. I'm sorry but can't you take a few moments to look? I asked if they had bought some recently and she again gave me a rude comment about how they are a small business. I have personal experience working at thrift stores as a clothes sorter/pricer, so I feel qualified to say that the pricing here mystifies me. Some of the items are damaged/dirty and should not be sold (a hole in the seat of jersey shorts--yikes). Others are Ross/TJ Maxx brands and priced higher than they originally were at those stores. The stock rotation is pretty slow which is discouraging. Maybe it's because they don't have the competition of stores like Plato's Closet, Crossroads or Buffalo in town, but they could do a lot better and be fairer to their customers. read more

My friend and I both brought in two big bags of clothes. They told us it would take about 5 hours (mind you, there was one person in front of us, which the employee even told us) and to come back in the morning. We go in the next day and they tell us that they had to do a full pass on everything. These were two big garbage bags, which one had new and new with tag items, and a very cute pair of unworn square toe heels which are very in trend right now. After telling us that they had to pass because our items were "too worn" and "not trendy", I knew they hadn't even opened the bags because we had tied them, the shoes were still on top, and all clothing was still in the same spot. It's very frustrating hearing these girls always give the same schpeel "everything was too worn" or "not trendy." I feel like a lot of people that try to come here know this by now. This consignment store carries some of the worst, worn clothes that aren't in trend at all and worn shoes. It's also a complete waste of time for the employees to make customers wait, just to actually not go through the clothes. Whoever trains these girls, seriously needs to step it up because I'm not the only one who thinks selling here is an absolute joke. Oh, also. Would love it if I could get more than $2 for a new shirt. read more

I have thrifted for over 10 years and love it. I have purchased and exchanged clothes at many stores. Though, this store was a disappointment instead of a fun carefree experience I associate while thrifting. Most importantly I felt ripped off during an exchange. For the first time I took back product they wanted to purchase. I will continue to thrift because it is fun. This place is not fun and felt really seedy. I was in this store last week to drop off clothes to be considered for consignment. The lady at the front asked if the clothes had been washed. (well yes, gross and not polite not too.). She asked when had they been washed, ummm, maybe 5 days ago, washed, dried and put in a bag to take to this store. No go, she says they have to be washed within 24 hours. Sign, I know things are different because of C-19 but really? Clean and in a bag. I also have not had a good experience with this store with consigning, but I wanted to give them another shot. The first time I took clothes in and went back to pick up what they didn't want, they chose to pass on name brands in good condition; items the would fit nicely in their store and customer base. It seemed like the girl didn't even know nice brands - Anthropology, American Eagle, Mavi Jeans to name a few. It's too bad, it could be a cool store, with some great finds if the staff was nicer and more knowledgeable. read more

I won't be going back and I'll be telling everyone I know not to either. The store was better when it first opened but has gotten worse every time I've gone in, and I keep thinking it'll get better, that it was just a fluke. But no, I'm done and here's why. I took in about 25 items all in great condition and high end name brands. Everything else I usually give to friends or Goodwill. The girl that took the clothes told me it would be a couple hours but I could come back, the way she said it was as if I was an irate customer or something? But at that point I was in a perfectly fine mood and smiling. It was weird. When I came back the box I had taken in looked like it didn't have hardly anything taken out of it. I was told that they were looking for more sophisticated items. Which made me think based upon the appearance of the box and what she said, that they didn't take that much. She offered me 16 bucks in cash or 19 something in credit. When I got home I went through the box to see what I could give to Goodwill or to friends and there were only 5 things in there. One of the things (a coat) was bunched up really bulky and the other 4 laying on top making it look like the box was full. So that meant they kept 20 of the items that I gave them. That means I made less than a dollar per item. Ridiculous!!!!! Right?! I've been trading at places like Buffalo exchange and the bag lady for years and never had an experience even close to this. There are some hot brands here they just don't know so they're super cheap. I won't mention them because we don't need them jacking prices. I came into the store today to just browse around. I'm from out of town so my friends and I just thought it be a nice outing. After five minutes of being in the store I spotted some really cute leggings that were on a manikin. I saw that all the employees were busy with customers so I patiently waited by the manikin. An employe, T'halia, asked me harshly can I help you with something. I said no rush, but I just like to try on these leggings. While walking over to me she did the biggest eye roll I have ever seen in my entire life and harshly ripped them off the mannequin. Honestly, I used to really like this store. But after the last time I went to donate some clothes, I changed my mind. First off I'd like to note that the Customer Service is god awful here. I walk in all cheerful and I get 2 little girls behind the desk staring at me, neither one says hello. They did not have masks on, and they put them on as soon as we walked in. So unprofessional. So I myself say hello, and walk up to donate my bag of clothes. Mind this, I have a lot of cute things in this bag! Some of the items are brand new and never worn before. So I leave for a bit, come back, and they told me "we're gonna have to do an entire reject". I asked why, and explained to them that I have Steve Madden Boots and that I have a lot of good cute clothes! I was so confused! She told me that the clothes were "just a bit too worn" and I literally held something up and said "but this is brand new". And then she said "it's not in style" so which is it? Anyways, I was really frustrated because she wasn't being straight up with me and she had a horrible attitude the whole time. It resulted in me just saying "ok" and walking out with my bag. After that experience I really don't want to go back. Who treats customers like that? These little girls need to learn how to be fucking nice to people and do their job. I walked in with my friend on 10/14/19 and we were the only ones in there. The girl behind the counter gave us a dirty look and didn't even greet us. When we said we just needed to drop off clothes she gave a heavy sigh and rolled her eyes. Said it was going to be like a two hour wait and we were fine with that but she wasn't. She was rude and slammed, literally slammed, the pad in front of us to fill out. We asked her if we should just come back a different day because she was in a bad mood and seemed overwhelmed. She said no but she has a lot of bags to do. We ended up just waking out because you don't need to treat your customers with disrespect. It's your job to take in clothes to look at. I'm curious if she treats every customer that way any time it gets busy. We won't be coming back and I don't recommend anyone going. read more

I was contemplating writing this but feel I should. I have been shopping and selling clothes here for years. Since they opened so 2 ish? Regardless, I bring the same 2 ikea bags every single time. This time was the last straw. When I walked in, I set them down because they were heavy. T'ahra or whatever her name (red hair... manager I believe) got all huffy with me because they wernt on the counter and they they were heavy. So rude. I just stared at her until she was done with her attitude literally just stared. She said ther was a small bag limit. Is this new because I've brought the same bags in to her and no issues. I looked around and there was one other person in the store and ZERO bags to go through. I brought them just after opening. When managers make customers feel crappy that is bad bad business. Not only does this store only sell crop tops and shirts with holes in them, yes that's what they buy. (Their audience must be 15 yrs of age) but their attitudes suck. She was overly nice when I came back, which fake... ok but I contemplated leaving my bags there because I didn't want to deal with her and her sucky attitude. Learn how to be nice, your attitude effects others and more importantly your business. Also their reasonings made no sense for not taking clothes, especially looking at the clothes in the racks, I've seen stained and holed clothes that they buy! read more

Went in here today and was treated horribly. The First Lady I encountered I asked what are u taking in cause I have over 50 pairs of designer jeans in my car. Rudely she told me do u have it in a bin or box and are they less than 2 years old? I said no bin or box but I can bring them in. She explained to me that they have a system and since I had them with me they would look at them but that's not normal how they do things. Her face the entire time was I'm sorry but with a glare. She acted as if I was an inconvenience to her. I'm sorry but me selling my clothes to u is how ur store make $ am I wrong? I've worked in customer service for 25 years plus and have never treated anyone like that. Needless to say I left and will never come back. I do not recommend wasting your time here. Today I had the worst thrifting experience I've ever had. I went to exchange clothing (some items brand new) and they only purchased two items for much less than reasonable. The staff was talking very inappropriately and were dressed very inappropriately for working in a "trendy" clothing store. They spoke very condescendingly to me and told me that my clothing was older than 2017 (it was not) when nearly 90% of their clothing is very ugly and quite obviously from earlier than 2017. There clearly needs to be employee training on how to address customers, how to dress, and what appropriate work conversation is. On another note, the store was very dirty - the fitting rooms were unacceptably filthy to the point where I felt uncomfortable. They had no music playing - which made for a very uncomfortable and awkward experience while shopping and allowed for the customers to hear EVERY inappropriate word the associates were saying. All in all, I will not be shopping or selling there again. read more
