Dropped in for a quick lunch. We love that this location has seating rather than just pick up counter. Burger and fries are tasty, and they've got glass bottles of coke! Staff were friendly and place was very clean.

Rude Rudy with fries - not much food for 20 bucks.

Rudy is getting too expensive. I remember it was a quick & cheap eat late at night after having a night out on college or in the clubbing district back when I was in the undergrad. The quality of the food is still consistent doe - the smash burdger is still top tier in the game, and the shoestring fries are irresistible. But then almost 20 dollars for these two? I'm not so sure.

With minimal seating inside this is more so a to go spot but as I've passed by it so many times I finally stopped by to pick up an order. Ordered ahead and it was ready just as I arrived which was great. Place is a bit awkward to get out of based on an odd location, but it really is hard to miss . The burger itself underwhelmed for me. Although the crisp on the edges of the patty was great, my 'Rudy' burger seemed small and the bun, although in proportion, seemed lack luster. I picked up on a promo so ended up with 2 burgers for $10, which was a great deal, but paying $10, the regular price for this, seems high. Cheese was meh, probably better without. Tomatoes nice an juicy but the lettuce was meager and super wilted. Probably pass next time around unless I hear changes have been put in place. Staff was super friendly.. I really wanted to love this place, but can't this time.

Fantastic smash burgers that will do the trick. Perfectly crispy and cheesy and cooked perfectly. loved the chicken burger as well. Bread pudding was phenomena.

We came here around 20 minutes past opening on a weekday morning and the two people working were already so busy with delivery app orders. The person taking our order and making our food was really nice - she even brought it to the table for us. Got the Rudy cheeseburger with a single pattie and it was a straightforward good cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and their own special sauce. I enjoyed the crispy edges of the pattie and unlike other people's experiences, our patties were not burnt. I was also a fan of how light and fluffy the burger bun was. However, it was pretty oily. We shared a regular poutine which was a good size to share between two people. The poutine had a generous amount of cheese curds which is something new as other places are stingy with their cheese. Definitely a good cheeseburger place that I'm glad to have tried.

Great burgers and fries!! I was looking for a casual burger joint that would satisfy the odd "American style" burger cravings I get here and there and this place is it! I got the rude dude with 2 patties and it was so satisfying. Thick cut fries were also great. Coleslaw salad was good but it was a puny portion. Note they seem to be really busy with deliver app orders. And they forgot to include my coleslaw in my order so I had to go back hence docking 1 star.

A solid 4.5. This place definitely lived up to its hype. I have heard so so many good reviews of Rudy but never really got a chance to try them. Yesterday we happened to be in downtown and decided to give them a try. With the pandemic we have just been picking up food and enjoying it in the car. Burgers are easy to to eat and thought why not try Rudy. My order was the cheeseburger, thin cut fries and coleslaw. The cheeseburger was so basic and so lovely I absolutely dislike complicated burgers and with their burger menu so so limited you already know you're at right burger joint. The burger itself was a 9/10. I thought the patty was way overcooked since these are thin patties they become over crispy other than that I truly enjoyed every bite of this burger. The thin cut fries were amazing cooked to perfection. And the temperature was perfect. The coleslaw was not that great so there are two types- vinaigrette or mayonnaise. Theirs is the vinaigrette and I prefer the latter. But overall it was super fresh. Overall a fantastic meal. Definitely amongst one of the best burgers I have had in Toronto.I'm already craving their the burger and fries. Will definitely go back and will also try their famous poutine. The price point is good too.

I heard a lot of Rudy as being one of the better burger places in Toronto. I ordered the Double Cheeseburger with bacon and with a poutine through DoorDash. I thought that the double cheeseburger was kind of small for the price I was paying. It was a small cheeseburger. I was not impressed with the poutine. It came in small container and taste like any other poutine. I was expecting something special from Rudy.

I decided to get the Rudy, there was a massive line up and people ordering in and out like crazy, pretty small size hamburger but really fresh there using fresh beef not frozen not sure if they grind their own meat like ozzy but still pretty good, I think their fries they cut it then freeze it, I also tried their fried chicken burger was really good crispy little spicy and meat super tender but ozzy is still the best in my opinion but this place was pretty decent and good effort

The Big Rudy (tattooed)

The smash burger craze is in full flight in Toronto, and when the mood strikes we've found no better place to go than Rudy - specifically their College Street location. The burgers are consistently, mouth-wateringly delicious. Quality beef is seared perfectly to crispy edged, Maillard Reaction scrumptiousness. This is the secret to a great smash burger. The flattening of the meat onto a hot griddle ensures that more meat is in contact with the high heat - creating a browned, charred and toasty flavour. And smashing the meat properly in the first few seconds of contact with the griddle ensures that the juices are locked in, creating that perfect combination of crispy and juicy that makes a good smash burger crave-worthy. And the Rudy smash burger is crave-worthy indeed. Their burgers are garnished with just the right amount of toppings to complement - but not overwhelm - the perfectly seared meat. We highly recommend that you "tattoo" your burger - as in, add bacon (because bacon makes everything better!). We don't know where Rudy sources their bacon, but daayyyuuummm it's fantastic. Rudy also make a mean chicken burger (The Valentino - as in Rudy Valentino - get it?!? lol), and the fries are scrumptious. We hear that their poutine is off-the-charts good but we can't vouch for that personally as we've not had the poutine - yet! Also from the "We hear it's great but we haven't tried it yet" list: pickle chips and milkshakes (we love, love, love that they do only the holy trinity of flavours - chocolate, strawberry and vanilla!). Why haven't we tried these yet, you may ask? Simple. We're addicted to the tattooed Big Rudy and straight up fries, and no matter how hard we try to break out of that delicious rut we just haven't been able to get there. But we're gonna - someday!

My favourite burger spot in the city! This location is the most consistent with the best quality burgers. Ordered from here for new year's eve and was not disappointed - the burgers and fries were packaged and carried well, the brownie was delicious and the chocolate milkshake (with Kawartha dairy ice cream!) was the best I've ever had. Always looking forward to my next Rudy burger!

Probably the best burger joint in town. Their big Rudy is just too tasty. Bacon is too expensive.

I popped in, sat at the counter, and was greeted immediately by a pleasant woman who took my "to go" order and told me the sandwich would be ready in just a few. While I was waiting, she kindly asked if I needed anything to drink. I declined. Shortly after I took home perhaps the best cubano sandwich I ever had. The warm sandwich had a perfect balance of ingredients. The Cuban bread with a thin crispy crust and soft inside made for a perfect mouth-feel. Absent was globs of mayo and mustard, flavors that often override the real stars of the show, the roast pork and ham. In it's place was a light dressing that complemented the meats perfectly. I've had Cubano sandwichs in Miami and NYC. The Cubano served up at LaCubana is as good, if not better. The only shortcoming: malta (a non- alcoholic malt beverage, popular in Puerto Rico and Cuba) wasn't available.

What we ordered: * Ham and cheese croquetas…read more* Coconut shrimp (special) * Guava bbq short rib (very good!) Service * Server was super nice and even took a picture of us * Very attentive and polite Ambience * Super old school diner vibes with cool Cuban gear and decor * Only downside is the bathroom is down some steep stairs with not a lot of air flow.

Return I did on a recent Saturday and we showed up just as they were opening up for the day, which meant we were able to snag one of the two outdoor tables available. It's a small menu, so ordering the Pastrami sandwich was a no-brainer. We also grabbed a small order of the Coleslaw to try. The food was ready to go within minutes. It's a great sandwich. The meat is super tender and perfectly complemented by the fresh bread and tasty mustard. Do I wish the spicing on the meat were a little more prominent? Yes, definitely, but it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the 'wich. The coleslaw is great, too. I'll surely be returning very soon.

It's a take out deli sandwich shop focusing on quality ingredients with a multitude of sides you can choose from. Other than their sandwiches, you can also purchase deli items like pastrami spice, beef salami, or half sour pickles. I've been waiting for Linny's Luncheonette to open since last year! When I dined at Linny's in Dec 2024, the waiters had hinted that there would be sandwich shop next door. I arrived at Linny's Luncheonette around 11:30am on their opening day (May 9th). The place was busy with customers coming in, however, the service was fast and efficient as chef David Schwartz stood by to make sure everything was running smoothy on the first day. In terms of the decor, think deli retro vibes! The interior is cute with bright orange countertops and a mirror on one side of place to make the space appear bigger. There are a variety of random candies and chips on display you can also purchase. The menu consists of sandwiches - pastrami, potato and pickle and smoked fish, as well as sides (knish, coleslaw, potato salad, karnatzel, cookie). I ordered a pastrami sandwich and a small side of potato salad. My order was made at a reasonable time (less than 5 min) and service was friendly. There isn't any seating inside the restaurant but there are a few chairs outside and 2 small tables. The great thing is that Linny's Luncheonette is located along Ossington so it isn't hard to find a table close by the place. I decided to head to the park to eat my sandwich. Foodwise...the pastrami sandwich was deliciously amazing. I loved the pastrami at Linny's so I knew that Linny's Luncheonette would be the same. The pastrami had the perfect meat to fat ratio...which made it oh so tender and juicy! I am not a huge fan of pastrami to begin with but...I would come back for this sandwich again and again again. Anyways...back to sandwich, the bread held the meat together well where there was a hint of mustard spread as you took each bite. I got sad when I reached my last bite. The potato salad was also great, not too creamy with sizeable chunks of potato. Overall, a great new addition to the Ossington strip! The pastrami sandwich is a must get here!! Can't wait to return for more in the future! (tip - go early as they can sell out)

I only stepped into the…read morerestaurant to glance over the menu and within seconds I was making a purchase because the old happy man was too chummy to refuse. And it pains me to write this review about the bad quality of their entrees. I've been to Naomi twice. The first time I bought the Salmon bibimbap and the second time I bought the Chicken teriyaki. The pictures looked really really good so I opted for them, but both dishes were disgusting. I was really thrown off by how quickly they were able to prepare both dishes. Under 5 minutes?!?! It seemed almost too good to be true. When I opened the container and took the first bite of the meat, I fully understood why. Naomi uses canned meats. For some people, this is okay, but I really could not stand how "plastic" the chicken felt. The meats weren't even seasoned, rather covered in mediocre sauces. The teriyaki sauce wasn't even teriyaki sauce... it was a transluscent orange with a syrupy consistency. The bibimbap was also poorly done. There was no sunny side up egg, and the only veggies consisted of bland bean sprouts, overcooked carrots, and boiled spinach. Although, the "gochujang" sauce was not bad. However, my friends have all claimed that Naomi's sandwiches are extremely tasty, but after my two bad experiences, I'm probably not going to come back. TLDR: don't get any entrees. Stick with the cafe classics.
