This is a great place to eat out if you like steak...which conveniently I do! Reasonable prices…read moreand a lot of choices makes for a perfect night. Definitely a place to go if the weather is nice so you can make the most of the garden and outdoor bar. Only drawback is it's a little far from anywhere else, so if you're hoping to make a night of it you have a longish walk ahead of you or expect to get a taxi....or (ohmygod) someone can't drink!!

On arrival the place was very cheesy, with dubious film memorabelia covering every surface. The waitress was nice, but tried to seat us in a small dark table in an awkward corner, despite it being a sunny day and the place being empty. We opted to move by the window. The room was hot and had that 'old people's home' smell so we asked the waitress to open the door. She did, then informed us that the regular menu wasn't being served and it was Sunday roast only. One of our party was vegetarian, and this wasn't ideal. Fortunately they did make her a large starter to have as a main course. As for the food itself the roast was poor, the meat was tough and the gravy very salty, it seemed to be Bisto or similar. No one eat much. We ducked out of deserts and made a quick exit, pausing only to marvel at the awfulness of the 'Hollywood' themed garden (again more cheesy film stuff). Coming from London I think we are spoiled for choice, and this place wouldn't last two minutes in a more competitive environment. We won't be returning.

It's quicker to go to Colombia and back for your hot drink than to die waiting forever unacknowledged and neglected; despite them using a hot drink dispenser similar to those in Weatherspoons......! Pathetic and ludicrous. If busy I could understand, but with only 2 tickets waiting, the attitude of the bar creature was disgusting! It's no wonder the inside and bar was COMPLETELY empty! If you want disappointment and mistreatment, this is the place....!

We really enjoyed our meals here, and after walking all up and down the seafront, we stopped back here for Devonshire Cream tea...I couldn't wait. Now I'm hooked! There's something delightful about cream tea. I can't find a decent scone around home...much less, one that comes served at a beautiful table over looking the sea. Pier Point has such a lovely view, we always sat outside. They are ready for all meal times and needs. Their website would be a great one to check before heading here so you can know what is available. I would go back quickly, if only I could!

I had already booked for 13:00, but then wanted to change to the evening, but fully booked, so kept to the original booking. Sat near the window, which was open and a view over the sea. There was an error on the bill but this was quickly rectified. we had: Drinks: Aperol Spritz - £5.95 3 bottles of coke - £8.25 A pint of Kronenbourg - £4.25 A bottle of Viognier - £19.95 A large (250ml) glass of Malbec - £8.95 Food: 1 x Two fixed price lunch courses - £10.95 Tartes Flambées - Traditionnelle (My son hadn't realised that they used goats' cheese, and not to his liking) Ice Cream (Selection) 3 x Three fixed 3 x Dock Meatballs (only two meatballs, but delicious) Poulet au citron Steak Frites (supplement £1.00) Rump Steak (supplement £3.95) Crème Brulee Coupe blanche au chocolat Lemon Tart Friendly staff, and great food.

I've heard from people who live in…read moreTorquay that this place is exceptionally good compared to many of the other restaurants in the area. While dinner is pricey, they have a great lunch deal. Two courses for £11, three courses for £13, and you have a wide variety of options. We started by sharing some marinated olives and luscious chorizo bites soaked in honey. The whole roasted garlic bulb was delicious too, though really overpriced given the size and how much garlic costs. For my appetizer, I got the warm salad of roasted beetroot with goat cheese and candied walnuts. It was small, but delicious. The ingredients were warm and fragrant, and the flavors went wonderfully together. My salmon entree was lovely too - simple and fresh, with french beans and a light butter sauce. All the lunches come with potatoes and vegetables. I didn't think much of the fries - not warm enough or crispy enough - but the roasted potatoes were very nice. Because someone in our party had their food come out late, we were given lots of extra sides and her meal was taken off the bill, a great way to handle it. Several of us got dessert - the creme brûlée was a simple, classic version of the dish, and very tasty. Such a great deal for all that food! I was a bit dissatisfied with the service, although our server was friendly, helpful, and warm, it was incredibly slow. We were there for hours! It took so long for each course to come out. We had our empty appetizer plates in front of us for 15 minutes before they were removed, and it took even longer before the entrees came out. Still, because the food and atmosphere was so nice (great views out the big front windows), I can't fault them too much! Wouldn't keep me from returning at all, just don't go if you're in a hurry!
