After the attorney assigned to my case was laid off, I was never contacted or informed of the change. I ultimately found out my case had been dropped during an extremely rude and abrupt phone call. The woman informed me (without explanation or empathy) that the firm would no longer represent me and that my file would be sent immediately. That never happened. During onboarding, multiple customer support reps reached out, creating the impression that I'd be well taken care of.. especially considering the $ignificant percentage of the settlement this firm charges. Despite multiple calls, emails, and even a certified letter requesting my case file, I received no response. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions. My journey with Rubinstein Law has unfortunately been frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. From the beginning, communication was lacking, and updates on my case were vague or non-existent. I found myself constantly having to call for information while dealing with significant pain, surgery, and ongoing treatment. At one point, I was informed my case would go to trial--which I understood would increase the attorney's fee, and I was okay with that. Later, I was told the case settled in mediation and that the fee would be reduced accordingly. That turned out not to be true. Every conversation I had with different representatives resulted in conflicting information, which made it extremely difficult to trust the process. Once my case reached the "trial" stage, I began receiving monthly check-in calls, during which I expressed concerns about treatment support and the continued lack of communication--none of which were ever meaningfully addressed. To make matters worse, when I finally received my settlement check, it was rejected by my bank. Bank of America advised me that there had been recent returned checks on the account from which my settlement was issued. Prior to that, Rubinstein Law held my check for over a week while waiting for their own funds to clear before issuing mine. In a time of pain and hardship, I expected professional support and guidance. Sadly, my experience felt more like a series of avoidable obstacles. Gotta say, pretty FREAKING unimpressed ... Let's start at the beginning, I was on a work trip in Florida, I work with Beauty Schools so I was out drinking with some school owners. We were on the way back to the hotel, on foot please note because ... I'd been drinking. I'd like to send out a friendly fuck you to the Orlando police department as well, they literally came to my hospital room asking for the license plate number, make and model of the vehicle and it was very hard for me not to say "Hold on ... what the fuck is your job?" I just got hit by a FREAKING CAR! I was trying to figure out which way was up, I have NO IDEA what the giant metal vehicle FREAKING LOOKED LIKE. All I saw was headlights and I JUMPED cause i've seen karate kid III. After I was hit I woke up in the middle of the intersection and walked to the curb where I tried to chill and waited for the ambulance, to be fair this is also a huge screw you to the state of Florida, apparently when you get hit by a car in Flordia they aren't liable. She clobbered the shit out of me on a red light. I had multiple witnessess and her insurance (geico) basically said we're only liable for 10k get wrecked. While going through a crosswalk in a group of 7. I was hit by a car as a pedestrian, I was rushed to the hospital cause I was "a little beat up" ... fast forward ... I get home and have to start dealing with everything, hospital bills, tracking down info etc. Rubenstein Law was so beyond unhelpful.I found them 100% based on reviews cause I live in Utah. I asked them multiple times what I should do and they basically said ... you do you bra. SO now when the gal who hit me (who was very sweet by the way, she even stayed at the scene of the accident to make sure I was ok) buuut she doesn't have insurance for hitting the crap out of me with her car as a pedestrian (cause thats not required in florida, she gotta save a buck no judgment on her). First they say they won't take my case. So I send them all the information, THEN call them and make them review, after they accept my case ... time goes by ... 3 months go by. I get a call from Rubenstein saying hey homie, we DROPPED YOUR CASE BECAUSE SHE'S NOT COVERED, sometimes people have uninsured motorist coverage, but yeah you're screwed bro. So I look up my coverage and guess what I have it. Uninsured motorist coverage for 50K. Freaking golden, so I send them my coverage. They call me back and say sorry bro you don't have a case. I LITERALLY MAKE THEM PULL UP THE EMAIL I SENT AND SHOW THEM I HAVE FREAKING COVERAGE. The dude on the phone is literally saying to me "yeah ... I don't get it, it says you have coverage right here. Let me talk to the lawyer and get back to you." So they call me back and say yeah you have coverage. We'll take your case back up. So they pick my case up again and wouldn't you know it, it won. ALL DUE TO ME FREAKING FIGHTING AND MAKING THEM DO THEIR FREAKING JOB. Then the freaking lawyer gal GAS LIGHTS ME LIKE CRAZY, sorry I don't have notes of that, sorry, we never would have dropped your case if you'd provided the requested documents. B!^ch, I sent them Then I find out they upped the originally discussed amount we agreed on. When we first spoke the dude who accepted my case said it's 33% I told him I googled it and the national average was 30% (after regoogling it looks like I was wrong, it was 33ish %, but thats not what they verbally agreed to) they did drop my fee to the originally discussed 30%, but I had to make them accept my case TWICE. one of which was because they can't freaking read an insurance statement. Stay away from this law firm. They are completely unreliable. They took on my brain injury case back in 2017 and during the 7 years my case was going on they switched attorneys on my case five times. Attorneys come and go at this law firm. The last attorney Evan Abel is the worth attorneys I have ever dealt with. Communication with him was poor and when I reached out for assistance he took days to reply. In July of 2024 I had no choice and I complaint to the law form about Evan's poor communication. Once I send the complaint days later Evans emailed me to advise me that., "I have discussed the issues you have raised with management. While we do our best to provide first class legal services to all our clients, we respect your opinion and have decided to withdraw from your case to allow you to seek other representation. We will file the motion, set same for hearing, and ask the judge to give you 60 days from that date to retain counsel. We will send you copies of both the motion to withdraw and the hearing date. We wish you the very best with your case. As we are withdrawing, we will not place a charging lien on your file." After 7 years they just drop the case just because I complained about one of their attorneys. There are other attorneys out there that care about their clients and will do a better job. read more

Avoid this law firm. Their communication skills are horrible. I was a pedestrian hit by a car on Nov 30 2017. My case MOSTLY settled in December 2018. In between those dates, I had a few problems with this firm. They didn't reply at all to one inquiry of mine. Another one or two simple emails were never responded to and required me calling to get action. When I got my settlement check, I had to sign papers. Would you believe I was first presented with papers and check for some other client? Very sloppy is the one of the nicer descriptions I can call that piece of work by RL. RL also sent me for an MRI to most incompetent medical office I have ever encountered. RL routinely sends settlement checks from their main office to WPB on Friday. In between, I emailed Karina. Again I said I'd pick up the check in WPB. See I was in the middle of moving. This morning I called RL around 10 a.m. to inquire if the checks were in WPB yet. I was at my wife's work, which is about halfway between where I live and the WPB office. Two telephone operators in Miami refused to connect me to the WPB office because Karina wasn't in yet. I said all I needed to know was if the checks were there. They refused to help me. One operator rudely hung up the phone on me. Rather than go to RL in WPB, I went back in the direction of home to do an errand. While in the store, I called RL to see about the check. Karina is in. Guess what? Karina tells me the check wasn't in WPB. It was still in Miami even though it had been clearly communicated to send it here. I was furious. Karina when told of my 2 earlier phone calls apologized for how they were handled. I should have been taken care of when I made those calls. Then I tell Karina to mail the check to my home but I also made it clear how unhappy I was and I that I would never recommend RL to anyone based on their horrible client/lawyer communication skills. You will hardly believe happens next. Karina calls me back a few minutes after her first call to say the check is in WPB after all! I should have been told that 3 phone calls ago. I called her an idiot, and to be honest, that's a g-rated understatement of how I feel about the RL people I encountered that day. By the time I was FINALLY COMMUNICATED TO Properly, I was not going to head off for WPB anymore because it would take a great deal of time. This office can not handle simple communications with their clients. On this basis alone, people should avoid Rubenstein Law for their legal matters. They were great in the beginning. But when they heard the insurance company accepted liability and there was no uninsured motorist they dropped us like a hot potato. Because that means less money. They tried to say it was because my daughter was cited for the crash, they knew this from the start. So I call BS. Ironically, the ins said they took liability the day before they dropped us. Rubenstein's employees brainwash you making you feel that you won't have to pay for the medical bills that THEY send you to rack up. They only send you to the physicians and medical professionals that they want to send you to even if it's miles and miles away from where you live- how does that work especially when you have been injured from a near death car accident? They initially send someone to your house to assess you then that person hides if you contact them. The employees at the office were hardly around for our case, we had to call multiple times, leave voice messages, then call back AGAIN. Sorry, are we the client here or are are YOU the client? Let's be honest here, Rubenstein Law strung us along for months when they knew very early in there was no compensation for us; the victim in a major not at fault car accident BUT kept us around to collect their own funds from our insurance- well now we know! Not even sure if all these "great" reviews are real considering the experience my family had with this company.
