Ruben was super friendly and very professional! He gave me exactly what I wanted and had a variety of fonts to choose from. Would highly recommend to all grads and soon to be grads. I dropped off my sash on a Thursday and had it ready by Saturday. But if I were you try to drop of desire item(s) a week in advance only bc there were other students from other cal states that were dropping in theirs as well. He did an amazing job and left very content and satisfied with how my sash turned out. Here's a before and after. Also FYI his new location is at 1911 E. Gage av los Angeles ca 90001- the new place is a place/swapmeet. As long as you ask someone that works there just ask if they can direct you to the area of where do tinted windows. Great prices and turnaround time, but inconsistent quality of work! Ruben charges $5 per line and was able to get my sashes embroidered within 3 days, even in the middle of busy graduation season. Pretty amazing! My one significant complaint, however, is that the quality of work was inconsistent. I took 2 sashes in for embroidery. One turned out great, no complaints; the other was passable but not optimal at all. I've included a picture of the meh one, as well as the photo I sent to Ruben as a model to work off of. Pretty big difference between what I got vs. requested! You can tell that the font spacing is inconsistent on the actual sash, but the worst part is that the last "l" in "Electrical" looks like it was forgotten and then squeezed in. In person it's really obvious--that "l" is slightly crooked and much thinner/more squished than all the other letters! Oh well...not the end of the world, at least it generally looked okay in photos. Anyway, Ruben's shop is a bit hard to find, but if you walk toward the stage, it's around there--it's one of the shops that you'll find on your right. I'd definitely come back here if I needed a quick and cheap embroidery job done, but if I had more time and a bit more cash to spare then I would try to look elsewhere! read more

AWESOME experience here 11/10! I'm surprised not many more USC students know about this place, as it's only a mile away. I wanted to get some words embroidered on my graduation sash but USC itself charges $3 a letter (no thanks) and Ruben (I think that was his name) only charged me $5 a line! Wonderful service, he definitely knew what he was doing, and the embroidery came out PERFECTLY! I expected to have to go through the hassle of dropping it off and picking it up. I already knew some people who were on a month's waitlist at some other places, but I only had to wait about 20 minutes, as Ruben did it right on the spot! I came on a weekday at around noon, I believe his hours are usually 10am-7pm but he's closed on Wednesdays. His place is a little hard to find, but upon entering the Los Amigos mall on the south end you head straight towards the stage, make a right, and he's there! read more

I called to check for pricing. To my surprise it was great 5$ per-line. I went to get my cap embroidered very simple. He was in a rush but I assured it was just words I wanted to get done. I spelled the words out and picked my font and thread color. Ruben is super nice and friendly. When the stitching was done I fell in love with the results. We'll be recommending my friends to this place ! 5 stars . For anyone looking for cap decoration ideas here are the details. 1. got a black table cloth that matched the color of my cap. 2. Got it stitched by Ruben. 3. glued the cloth to my cap 4. Decorated using mini flowers and fake diamonds from downtown and done! It is quite a hassle but since you can't stitch your cap this was the easiest way I thought of doing so. So my boyfriend procrastinated until the last minute to get his sash embroidered. All the shops I asked in fashion district either did not take orders of only one sash or they gave unreasonable prices. Luckily, I found Ruben on yelp. This embroidery shop is amazing! I am graduating tomorrow and I wanted to add on to my current sash another degree. The guy was extremely busy when I got there, but he asked me to give him an hour. When I got back less than an hour oh, it was already completed! And it looks just like the writing that was already there (2017). He added on the 2019 version. He only charged me $5 a line, just like everyone else is saying. Which is great because being so late everyone else was charging 60 + dollars to have it completed. Parking is in the back or you can park on the street in the front. And he only takes cash. The shop was a little hard to find so I asked the security card on the south entrance and I walked right past where it was supposed to be so he walkied the security guard on north entrance to tell me where to go. So coming from the south entrance Walk straight until you see the little kid rides and make a right you will see him set up with a bunch of hats in a display case. read more

I called a few days ago and they said they would be able to embroider my sash on the spot. I was looking into prices and this was the best price but I wasn't able to go because I didn't have my sash. I finally got my sash and called back to check for the wait time and he told me he wouldn't be able to do it on the spot. That I would have to wait until Monday.
