Picture of embroidered sash, perfect professional quality!

AWESOME experience here 11/10! I'm surprised not many more USC students know about this place, as it's only a mile away. I wanted to get some words embroidered on my graduation sash but USC itself charges $3 a letter (no thanks) and Ruben (I think that was his name) only charged me $5 a line! Wonderful service, he definitely knew what he was doing, and the embroidery came out PERFECTLY! I expected to have to go through the hassle of dropping it off and picking it up. I already knew some people who were on a month's waitlist at some other places, but I only had to wait about 20 minutes, as Ruben did it right on the spot! I came on a weekday at around noon, I believe his hours are usually 10am-7pm but he's closed on Wednesdays. His place is a little hard to find, but upon entering the Los Amigos mall on the south end you head straight towards the stage, make a right, and he's there!

I called to check for pricing. To my surprise it was great 5$ per-line. I went to get my cap embroidered very simple. He was in a rush but I assured it was just words I wanted to get done. I spelled the words out and picked my font and thread color. Ruben is super nice and friendly. When the stitching was done I fell in love with the results. We'll be recommending my friends to this place ! 5 stars . For anyone looking for cap decoration ideas here are the details. 1. got a black table cloth that matched the color of my cap. 2. Got it stitched by Ruben. 3. glued the cloth to my cap 4. Decorated using mini flowers and fake diamonds from downtown and done! It is quite a hassle but since you can't stitch your cap this was the easiest way I thought of doing so. Extremely happy with the end results and feel free to use my cap decoration for inspiration.

From Ruben's Embroidery: "Bachelor of Science Biology" perfectly matches color and font on the rest of the stole. $5 per line.

I was in a rush to have my graduation stole embroidered. I contacted Ruben's embroidery and the owners were quick to respond and very helpful. Upon arrival, they made sure the spacing of words, font and color of thread were all to my liking. The embroidery was done within 15 minutes! It is $5 per line. The quality was impeccable for an incredibly reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!

So my boyfriend procrastinated until the last minute to get his sash embroidered. All the shops I asked in fashion district either did not take orders of only one sash or they gave unreasonable prices. Luckily, I found Ruben on yelp. I gave him a call and he told me he could give me my sash at the end of the weekend. He was the nicest and most professional person I talked to and his price was the most reasonable of all! Best of all, he did a great job on the embroidery too! I've attached a picture of my boyfriend wearing the sash so you can see for yourself! Such an underrated shop, would recommend to anyone that needs embroidery done!

Ruben had my sash ready within a few days and it was perfect! This is my first Yelp review because I hope that more USC students learn about this place and support a local business!

Such a great experience! He's very talented and works well with the customer. Definitely a great option for USC students!

Wow! I went in on Tuesday around noon, tried on my dress, told her where I wanted it shortened to,…read moreand she estimated a cost of $12 to shorten it--polyester bridesmaid dress with a liner and an additional piece hanging down the front--and it was done on Thursday morning! For speed, this place gets a 5... However, the rating gets knocked down to a 3 because I give her a 2 for quality. She did what I asked and for much less than the other places who quoted $20-$160, but she didn't do it that well. It was almost a step above me having cut the dress and thrown a few hand stitches in. What she did was cut the top layer (the main part of the dress) and put in professional stitches to hold the cut but not hide it, i.e., she did not fold over the material to sew in a folded cut, so occasionally, you see some threads sticking out. Ironically, she did fold over the liner before sewing it, so that looks just fine, and she did a great job with the piece hanging over the front. So, she has potential; she just forgot to use it on the main and most important part of the garment. This is one of those times when I would agree: you get what you pay for. I have a sense, however, that if you tell her to make sure the material is folded before sewing, she would obey and do an awesome job for an awesome price. So, I shall use her again and just give her more direction. Note: The tailor's primary language is espanol.

I brought two of my dresses and a blouse into Guadalupe Veloz last week to get altered with very…read morespecific instructions and they came out great. It's hard to find a good tailor that actually listens to exactly what you want and delivers. Not only that but finding one that doesn't try to rip you off is even more difficult. I put my stamp of approval on Guadalupe Veloz!
