Originally built as a love shack, this was home to Neruda and his mistress and later wife, Matilde, whenever they were in the city. The rooms are varied and they're also quite small. You can definitely tell that the years have made height requirements for houses different. That being said, the house is full of eclectic trinkets. It's said that Matilde moved rooms in the house after Neruda died, never being able to sleep in the room that was once theirs. Sad. The tour for La Chascona is about an hour. They give you an audio tour with options in Spanish, English, or Portuguese. Note, though, that you can only take photos of the exterior of the house.

It is a great place to go for a drink and dance after dinner in Bellavista. Very fun and easy going crowd with great music by both international and Chilean DJ's as well as live bands (a great escape from all the reggaeton which is so popular in chile). They have two dance floors and one is more tecno focused while the other is funk mixed with classic pop (depending on the night). I have always had a great time here and my friends and I have danced until the wee hours of the night. They also have great cocktails and happy hour - they even have servers up until around 12am where you will then have to fight your way to one of the bars. Tip: Bring your ID - I know that is a given, but I have gotten super lax about it and if you don't have one on you, the bouncers wont let you in. Also, if you come before 11pm you can get in free - otherwise you will have to pay. Keep an eye out on their Twitter or FB page as a lot of times you can get in free by adding yourself to the guest list.

CIAN is not only an art gallery but also a space for local clothing and jewelry designers to display their work as well as Chilean gourmet products. CIAN is open Monday through Saturday and is constantly changing its available work and exhibits. This is open for all local artists and you can event rent out the space for events. Whats more, is they have a small but great cafe inside. You are able to enjoy your coffee in an idyllic atmosphere. Plus, the owner of the cafe is a recent transplant from India and although he doesn't speak much Spanish, he is very helpful in trying to explain about his delicious, yet simple menu. Apart from serving the normal coffee drinks, he serves what he has coined "Bollywood Snacks" including Chai Tea (REAL Chai tea from India) Lassis, Halwa, Badji and chapatis. Right now he has these all-vegetarian options but he is planning on opening up the selection in a few months time. Overall, a beautifully artistic and hip place to have your next coffee date (I guarantee you will be leaving with more than just a coffee).

Well, they will NOT let you anywhere in the winery without a tour, except the gift shop and restaurant. So that was too bad. I ordered pizza, and it was a gloppy mess of gooey cheese. We stuck around and tried some of their wines and enjoyed a selection of cheeses that were amazing! The tour is so interesting. I won't spoil it by describing other than the grounds and cellars are worth the trip alone and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. They do tours in English, spanish and portuguese all at different times so pay attention to that when you sign up. Plan at least 3 hours for your visit. You'll probably want to stay longer than that.
