I have to say that this place felt like it was aimed at women and couples who have a mature mindset, and it sells quality products....I did not see one cheap & tacky item! The staff were very welcoming... and may I add female, which I am positive for some shy customers would provide a more comfortable shopping experience. Even the packaging was discreet!

The sales assistant (bloody gorgeous btw) spotted my prudish Northern blush and took me under his wing by trying out a (unused, you dirty pups) vibrator on my nose, apparently the most sensitive non-rude bit of one's bod. 20 minutes later and I'm helping him pick out a DVD (Disney they ain't) and all sorts of other things that I barely understood, but which I am sure Mr Irish Friend will thoroughly enjoy. The prices seemed totally reasonable; you can get 6 Tenga Egg toys for £50 and 3 'specialist' DVDs for £40 (it seemed expensive to me, but Irish Friend assured me it's jolly good value). Sex shops often seem a little dirty and scary, but this little shop of naughty, opposite neon paradise Baa Bar, is not so much back-street-sex-shop as Anne Summers for the boys. It's a great place for all your, erm, needs. The service is fab, too, and the sales bloke really knew what he was talking about. I have no idea, because during this search in the gay village we found ourselves in Clone Zone and proceeded to titter ourselves into oblivion. I hence forgot our quest. Two girls in their twenties can be so immature. But sex toys, homosexual or otherwise, are funny when they're on the shelves. There's no getting around it. It's like the fact that two people copulating just looks stupid unless it's been pornographically choreographed. Just look at Ross and Rachel's reaction to the videotape of them conceiving their daughter. As Rebecca wisely says, one can think of Clone Zone as a boy's Ann Summers. The fact that it manages to look jovial and flashy without the tacky smuttiness of Ann's says a lot. The gay community just do this stuff far better. Come on, who can even walk into Miss Summers' gaff without thinking of Benny Hill or Carry On. At least in Clone Zone they don't hide all the naughties downstairs, they proudly display their beads and plugs and erotic DVDs. And why shouldn't they? Isn't that why people are in there in the first place except if by accident?

Full of great fancy dress costumes and bits to add to fancy dress costumes, that part is obvious from the very bright and tacky shop window. Dig deeper and you'll find tons of different tights, colours and types and sizes for everyone and every occasion, really good quality and really cheap too!

Neon tutu's, legwarmers tons of different colours and patterns of tights - things like that. The mannequins styled in the window give you a good idea what to expect. Its all a bit mish mash in here but for fancy dress it is less packagey and samey than going to the bigger Luvyababes a few doors down in the Arndale.
