I know when it comes to charities it is silly to have favourites, but there is such a multitude of them out there, so in some ways it can be helpful on a personal level to pick a few. RSPCA is one of my few. This is partly due to my total love for animals and partly because I love their Headingley shop.
Don't ask me why, but whenever I go into this one I always find something that I can't leave behind. Usually it is from their little glass jewellery counter at the front, but they always have some lovely pair of shoes or gorgeous scarf or clothing item - the list goes on. They always have a lot of items in their bargain bins out front and have a reasonably good selection of gift cards too.
Perhaps it's because they take a lot of care with their displays and refrain from buying in a load of wholesale jewellery items like some of the other charity shops. This does tend to mean the majority of their pieces are unique at least.
Anyhow, the RSPCA shop is a lovely little charity shop, which seems to me to stand out in the Headingley charity shop haven. read more
