A great staff and good prices for advertising. Highly recommended, especially Dana, Mel, Steve, Dillon, Todd and Gregg. I'm a happy client!

This Station airs simultaneously in the High Desert as "103.7" FM and "1250" AM. Why 1 star? What…read morecan a radio station do so wrong to deserve only 1 star? This Station is one of the few AM stations that is receivable in 29 Palms and Wonder Valley (daylight hours only). My 1 star award is not politically motivated but rather based on the fact that over the past 12 years of listening to K-News with one-ear in and one-ear out, the station has evolved from approximately 10 minutes of commercial-time per hour to, currently over 30 minutes (who's counting?) of commercial-time per hour. Regardless of what persuasion of politics any program broadcaster might be trying to convey to listeners, all is lost because it is impossible to stay tuned-in or remember to tune back in after you hit the mute button when commercials come on.

This is an interesting station in that nearly everyone has mixed feelings about it. Their early…read moremorning show is for the local progressive and/or LGBTQetc crowd, then they plunge straight into the country's most popular conservative talk shows for the rest of the day and evening, then overnight feature a "way out there" show which, in my unhumble opinion, occasionally touches on real possibilities that get almost nothing but snark from the rest of the media. Here's one of my own: seeing as along with talk radio the Jerry Springer Show has been broadcast into outer space for decades now, can you see any reason why the nearest galactic empire, whose neighborhood we're in, wouldn't have already targeted us for extermination? (For those who need to be told, I'm joking. But if they exist, it becomes a valid question.) Like probably a lot of their other occasional listeners, I'm an independent who grew up in the '50s/60s and got caught up in some of the counterculture trends, but never really discarded the basic values I was taught - never thew out the baby with the bathwater. Mom was a Democrat, Dad was Republican - and after I'd accumulated enough experience of my own I ended up with some views from both sides along with a few that don't fit into the mainstream(s) at all. As I heard a guest say on Sharyl Attkinsson's online news show not long ago, one of the big lies we are constantly told is "there are two sides" to a story: no, there are MANY sides. But most news media wants only two - to keep people at each others throats because that's how they get the cage fights they want and think they need for ratings and advertising $$$. So that's the problem with this station - all morning, day and evening you can count on getting primarily only one "side" or the other. You will be totally reliant on your own decency and bias filters. Here's an example: there are a few issues I strongly disagree with Rush on, but especially around election times I tune in to him sometimes because he's excellent at analyzing the political strategies being employed by leftists. One morning I turned the radio on about five or ten minutes early, and the "progressive" show was still on. They were discussing which '70s movies were best to watch while dropping acid, like Caligula or A Clockwork Orange. Great. When that's considered just one more amusing topic on our public airwaves (some kids and teens are always going to hear it), is there any wonder why we see increasing drug use and degradation all around us? My guess is that this station is being run for maximum profit on a basic free market model, so bully for them. But for the sake of your sanity and reason I recommend finding most of your news/opinion from sources where more centrist content is available, like realclearpolitics.com. That way if alien overlords ever do land, you can show them your search history and prove that you never fully joined the political tribes that were wrecking everything. -------------------------------------------- Postscript: If a host won't ever give credit when it's due to the people he/she is opposed to - or twists their words - if they refuse to recognize that there are people with good intentions on "the other side," that host is practicing extremism so is doing some harm along with any of the good they do.
