Roy and his team were the best company I have worked with for a move! Roy was exceptionally kind and responsive throughout the process. I had a last minute move on January 1. I contacted Roy two days prior to see if he happened to have availability and he said he could squeeze me in. He offered to stop by my place to do an evaluation of the items that needed to be moved or to do a virtual meeting. We opted for a virtual meeting, which was great, so he knew exactly what needed to be moved. The next day, he contacted me to confirm my move the following day at 9 a.m. His team of 4 guys plus Roy arrived promptly at around 8:50. We did a quick walkthrough of the place to review what was to be moved by them and the condition of our boxes, and then the team immediately got to work! The elevator at the apartment we left from was not able to be locked down that day since no one was at the office, but Roy and his team were kind and understanding and worked around this hurdle. Throughout the move, they were communicative, kind and professional and kept all of our items in perfect condition. They even were able to disassemble and reassembled our king bed frame from Ikea, which is a feat on it's own! From the beginning Roy quoted a very reasonable price for the move, particularly given there were 5 guys on the job and everything was included (wrapping of large items, blankets, truck, mattress cover, etc.)! We were able to pay via Zelle, which was also convenient, as we did not have to go to the bank for cash and carry it around all day. We completed a final walk-through once the move was complete to ensure everything was good to go. I would highly recommend Roy's services and will definitely use him again if I move! Best OUT OF STATE MOVE...yes I said OUT OF STATE this company is not just within city move company.... reliable, punctual, fast, trustworthy, safe, Instant delivery (you will not see instant delivery with any other company) what else I can say ...... Due to job change I had to move from Naperville to Tennessee. I moved several times before, but this was my first move with any moving company. So I did lots of search for good moving company. After reading lots of review on yelp (don't trust reviews from companies own site) I found its hard to find a reliable and safe company (most of them give you cheaper quote but charge extra $$$ (hidden cost) when you actually move and not reliable about delivery nor safety of your fragile items) I found Roys moving 1 on yelp but didn't know if they do out of state moves. I called them @ 9 am (just one week before moving), Roy gave me instant quote over phone, @ 12 pm he came to my apartment to gave final and more accurate quote. Excellent moving service!!! Had not moved in 12 years and have used Roy's Moving services 3 times in the past 9 months. Roy and his crew are professional, punctual, courteous, and careful. They are also incredibly fast and efficient, working like a well-oiled machine. Move #1: Last December, found out mid-month that I had to move out of my rental by 12/31 (building sold). Found Roy's Moving on Yelp. Called mid month for a 12/30 move and Roy was able to squeeze me in. Move went so well that I decided to use him for my next move. Move #2: Expected to close on a home in March, but the stressful process took an extra 3 months as my close date was rescheduled several times. Roy was patient, solution-oriented and accommodating throughout the entire process (and all my cancellations) even offering to move my things to storage or store them in the truck overnight, if needed. Move #3: Last month, hired Roy to move my mom's belongings from storage to her new home. Her stuff was stored on the 5th floor of a facility with possibly the oldest freight elevator in the city that could only be staff-operated. Despite these conditions, Roy's crew was fabulous and still managed to finish the job in a few hours. Additionally, the moving facility agent had only positive compliments for Roy's team. This is review is well overdue and I meant to post this a month ago. I don't do a lot of reviews but when I do, it's well deserved. I reached out to this company a little over a week before I needed to move. I requested a quote via Yelp and a response came less than 24hrs later. I spoke with Roy, the owner and found him to be very professional and to the point. I sent him a list and pictures of items I needed moved from one apartment to another. The quote he gave was beyond reasonable considering movers I've used in the past were nearly double his rate. I booked the move which included 3 movers. The movers, Matthew, Michael and Terrance were absolute professionals and hard workers. The move took almost 5 hours and they did it all without taking a break. The only break they had was driving my stuff from one apartment to another which was less than 8 minutes away. Did I mention they called 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know they were on their way AND called when they were close. They also disassembled and reassembled my King Bed and glass TV stand that holds my 55 inch TV. WOW, I can't rave enough about this company. I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone that needs great, reliable movers with no nonsense pricing and care when moving expensive furniture. Upon considering booking Roy to do my move, I was skeptical he'd even want to take on my move out in Woodridge being that he was based in the city. However, he was glad to do it and did a FaceTime assessment of my house. VERY CONVENIENT. No house visit, dealing with company packets, or paper work. Some family members recommended Roy's Moving help me move me this past April after he successfully moved them out of Chicago. I was really pleased with the level of service and attention I received with this local business and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Moving out was a breeze for me, as I watched three movers get all of my furniture and belongings down two flights of spiral staircases. Everything survived storage and two moves, except my bed which suffered such negligible damage. It's Ikea anyway so it had it coming. For the first time ever, I didn't have to throw something out after a move because it broke! Leroy and his colleagues create a no-hassle experience while getting the job done carefully and expeditiously. It helped a lot too that Leroy is knowledgeable of resources for people who are not great at moving. He referred me to a storage facility a few blocks from my new home, which offered the LOWEST prices I've seen anywhere. I really hope I don't have to move again anytime soon. My girlfriend and I moved from Chicago to Pennsylvania and Roy and his team made this stressful process easy as ever. First, when you call, Roy talks to you himself! He is a very friendly and personable guy who you immediately feel comfortable around. Not only does Roy offer very fair and competitive prices, he actually gives you an exact day and time he will come pick up all your belongings! If you have ever moved cross country, most moving companies give you a 3-day window, but not Roy. He was at our apartment at 9 a.m. on the dot and delivered early the next morning in Pennsylvania. And although Roy himself is great, so is his team! They came in and got the job done quickly and efficiently but while still being careful of all belongings. Roy and his team recently did a stellar job for me on an out of state move in January. They were extremely professional movers as well as being genuinely nice folks . This was a complicated move involving moving out of a Chicago apartment, driving about 400 miles, loading furniture out of the house there and then moving my stuff in. Considering the distance and effort involved, the quote was quite reasonable and well worth it. These guys were able to move some large pieces of furniture down staircases and through doorways and around corners with considerably less difficulty than previous movers (who had to take the door off the hinges to get a huge cabinet through it.) But the same item did not faze Roy a bit; in fact at the new place he got it into a room with a smaller doorway that I had doubted it would go through. Fragile items arrived safely too. He made smart choices and was very helpful throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend them for a move within the Chicago area or out of town like ours. read more

Based on some research and great overall reviews, I hired Roy's Moving 1 to move two very heavy pieces of antique dining furniture. The best part was the day I called, on a holiday weekend, Roy had some availability and we booked the move. Dealing with Roy specifically is great, he's very professional, courteous and down to earth. Our communications back and forth were easy and timely, and he and his helper showed up on time, called 20 minutes out, and were utmost professionals through the whole experience. The pieces were heavy and fragile, and the basement we were taking them out of was tight with low ceilings and tight doorway. Roy and his team carefully planned the move and wrapped the items for optimal protection. They had no problem moving the items, were done quickly, and the move into my house was more of the same. After last minute preparation for my May 1 move, I quickly turned to Yelp to find moving companies with great reviews because I was very worried about having just anyone "move" my furniture. Roy was my first choice bc of location from my old place to new place...I called on a Monday (had to move Thursday)and of course they only had availability to move a 1 bedroom (and I had 2). Kinda bummed I called other companies with no success! So I called Roy back and asked if they could just move the big pieces of furniture in the time they had available. Same day he came over and did a walk thru..and was in fact able to move me! I was told 2 things 1. Have everything packed and 2. Make sure my daughter and kitty wasn't present! His team showed up Thursday morning very professional and efficient! I literally didn't have to touch anything. They even took apart my bed and daughters crib and resembled at the new place. This review is long overdue, as Roy's team helped me move from Chicago to Columbus back in late October. Customer service was fantastic, as I always spoke directly with Roy, and he made it very clear exactly how the process would go down, how many people would be coming, and how long everything would take. An added bonus was that they were the only company that could guarantee that they could get our stuff from Chicago to Columbus in one day; any other company I had researched gave me at least a 6-8 day window, which wasn't going to work. They were incredibly efficient in packing and unpacking everything. A few things got slightly dinged up (table legs, etc.) but we had a ton of furniture, and any scratches and dings were very minor. Price-wise, you're never going to find a long-distance moving company that is going to be cheap, but Roy's was very reasonably priced. All told, not including tips for his crew, we paid $4300. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Best moving experience I ever had with Roy and his crew! Roy came over and personally reviewed the job and gave me a bid. It was the best I received. I liked all of the positive Yelp reviews and also checked BBB and hired him. Also Roy is personable and just a great guy! He delivered on his bid with no surprises. He told me to pack everything, and I had that done when they arrived. Moving day was October 1, 2018. Roy's crew arrived on time, and they really got right to work. He brought plenty of help, and all of his workers are great movers. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and careful in wrapping furniture, paintings, heavy glass tabletops etc. It all got to Indiana and was delivered in good shape. Even the big pieces of furniture, which included a seven foot 440 pound armoire I have a hip problem and couldn't help other than just stay out of their way. We moved from a 5-story building (with a small elevator) in the insanely-hard-to-park Edgewater neighborhood to a 3-story building (with absolutely NO elevator) up in Evanston. Sure, moving yourself (renting a truck, parking said truck, and doing all of the loading and unloading) is always the cheapest option, but me and my girlfriend didn't want to go crazy and end up hating each other at the end of the day. Ray's moved us from a River North high rise to a home on the Michigan lake shore. Very professional from start to finish. Ray personally handles everything. His guys showed up on time, were efficient and were very careful with our belongings, wrapping things with shrink wrap and, when needed, blankets. Nothing broken and items were reassembled that were dismantled. They did the entire move in one day. Other movers we spoke with would not do that; instead would be warehousing our stuff who knows where and how and delivering within "5 to 7 days". Ray also accepts credit cards and does not require payment until the job is done. No having to hassle with cashier's cheque in the midst of packing and moving. The final bill was exactly what he quoted. Definitely recommend Ray's and would use again. read more

Roy's Moving did a fantastic job helping us move! We were moving out of state with our own truck and Roy's team helped us load it. We had to reschedule the move multiple times and he was very understanding and willing to work with us to adjust the date. Once moving day came Roy and his crew arrived on time and went straight to work. They handled elevator issues and a long hallway without batting an eye. They remained friendly and professional throughout. The final price ended up being slightly higher than the quote I got from them but given how long it took to do the job I considered the change to be fair. Roy and his team moved our furniture and many many boxes from our apartment in Chicago, stored them for a month and then delivered them to our new place in California -- right on time and with a smile. Roy is one of the rare people who seems to truly love moving, and that joy really makes a difference! We got quotes from several big national companies for this cross-country move. Roy and his team moved me from my 3 bedroom home in the suburbs to a 2 bedroom apt in the city. They were fantastic. Roy and his 3 guys treated me and my belongings like family. Roy was responsive and his quotes were fair. No shenanigans. When I called, he either answered or returned my call within a reasonable time frame. Roy and his team were prompt, professional, friendly, and careful. They even had to move me over two days because I had so much stuff and the truck they had was not large enough to take everything in one trip. - he didn't charge me a dime more for the second day and they worked just as hard the second day as the first.
