History

Established in 1990.

It seemed that teaching in the classroom afforded little opportunity to actually teach or to provide individual help to students. So, I embarked on creating my own learning environment. I address both Math topic gaps and "belief system" barriers to success, while supporting the student's innate strengths, in a non-judgmental environment.

Meet the Business Owner: Royanne L.

By my senior year in High School I knew that I would be working toward a teaching credential, which I obtained through the University of California at Berkeley, with a major in Mathematics, and a minor in English. I have more than 20 years' experience teaching, including eight years full-time classroom teaching. I have taught in a number of contexts, including tutoring, substituting, home instruction, and on the adolescent ward in a psychiatric hospital. Other experience includes 12 years in technology, web production, project management, and creation of HTML-based learning applications. I pride myself on an holistic approach to teaching Math, taking into account multiple factors that affect how a student learns Math, and what his/her goal is.
