Since moving from Chicago to Grand Rapids it's been a difficult road locating a good massage therapist. I had decided to try this place because of a few good reviews on google. But not on Yelp. I had talked with the owner and he said that Linda was his best. I was excited to show up at 1225 for my 1230p appt. I was told to pay first and this struck me as odd. Never have I paid for a massage before it happened. I questioned him as to why and he responded some clients ran out without paying. Now I understand why. He took me back to the so called massage room and said here is your small towel and lay down . I said I want a larger sheet because I am over six feet tall and need more than a small hand towel. It was now 1245p and Linda came in and started the massage. Soon there after she complained about being too warm and stopped abruptly and reached into a cabinet to get a small fan. Then I heard a glass bottle break and said no worries. Her technique was avg . I was quite uncomfortable because no support for my legs and finally at the end I was given a pillow for my head. At 1230 she said all finished. I was then told not to fall asleep. When I went to complain about the 45 min massage. The owner got very angry with me and said I was crazy. I paid up front for an hour massage and was given only 45 at best. Stay away from this place!!!!!

Her practice is in a very nice building over in Kentwood-ish. Her office is is cozy and the room is private. Chris practices therapeutic massage so she employs all the tricks of the trade. Think deep tissue, Swiss, lymphatic drainage, the works. She really does like to get to know you as a client so she does ask questions, mostly to understand how best to help. I tend to want to sleep. No questions for me. But beyond that, her technique is top notch. She is thorough and fearless ... she's great at detecting what muscle needs to be released and doesn't stop until it's done. THAT is a great therapist. The approach is not for the faint-hearted but if you know what you're looking for in a massage Chris has the knowledge and skill will deliver. Most massages charge for ambiance ... the aforementioned vanilla candle, the steam room, lockers. I suppose that's all great but I'd rather spend the money on a great massage. I'll find a spa treatment a different day. Give Chris a call!
