My Mother's house, when she became deceased, was controlled by the Liquidator of her Estate, as hired by the other beneficiary (my brother). He also decided to hire the Realtors the "Tandem Team" (spouses) of Savas Sgouromitis & Venetia Kardaras, even though Mr. Sgouromitis had recently disappointed my Mother with his dalliances to rent out the upper unit of her home, while she was still alive and dealing with a terminal illness. Unfathomable.
Regardless, her house went on the market, after her death, in November 2016. After only 2 Open House Weekends, it was allowed to sell for 20K LESS than the asking price! These same Realtors explained that it was ultimately the decision of the Liquidator (and my wealthy brother, it seems) and that I did not have a say in the matter, being the other beneficiary of the Estate. That did not sit well for me, as I adamantly tried to communicate through them that they should continue to show the house until a few more offers were presented on the table. That just seemed like common sense to me.
What transpired was the following: My needs and concerns were dismissed and thrown to the curb (so to speak) and they expressed little interest to deal with me any further. Ultimately, they desired more to guarantee their lofty 5% commission for doing very little, then pretending to care for anything else (including my Mother's plants, as was promised).
So, if cold- hearted, calculating and solely caring for a commission appeal to you, then they are YOUR people. read more
