She then proceeded to tell me about the photos on the wall which showed the pub how it looked in the past, and also told me that there used to be a lady's lounge (at which point one of the old guys blurted out that ladies don't come to the pub anymore). There was a beer garden out the back, but it seemed to be more like a back garden with some tables thrown around, not that it was bad per se, it was just a lot more homely. Simple request from a guest should be met....If a customer wants to talk to the GM or have their card deliver it to them no keep intervening with dispute resolution mechanisms. Soap and shampoo on tap in shower (hadn't seen it in liquid form before - one normally gets it in small bars) Also liquid soap over vanity with tissues and hair dryer. Great overall feel of room. Toast, kettle and tea/coffee items and fridge. The staff were happy to give us an extra free Pura cold bottled milk when asked. Gave us more discount on cost we were told by Tourist Info centre. We were there in August of this year. Would certainly stay here and highly recommend. Not a usual budget motel. :)

I had a deeply disappointing experience trying to book Rostrata Country House. The property looked…read morebeautiful, peaceful, and perfect for night photography and the reviews were great. I was genuinely looking forward to staying there. As someone with a disability, I travel with an accredited assistance dog and a Guide Dog in training. I have used Airbnb for years with excellent reviews and have never had an issue. As a courtesy, though I am not legally required to, I informed the host in advance about the dogs, who are professionally trained and sleep in crates overnight. Shortly after disclosing this, my booking was declined, despite the property still showing as available. When I asked why, the host vaguely cited "personal reasons" and said she should have blocked the dates, though she never did. I raised this with Airbnb, and after an investigation, they confirmed the host had violated Airbnb's Accessibility Policy. As a result, the listing was temporarily suspended. The experience left me feeling unwelcome and deeply upset. Travellers with disabilities should not have to fight for the basic right to stay in accommodation, especially when accompanied by legally recognised assistance animals. I won't be staying at Rostrata Country House and will instead support inclusive hosts who understand and respect the rights of all travellers.

This property says it all seeing is believing a must stay in between st Arnauds and bendigo you won't go wrong. Heritage and knowledge is a must if your lucky enough to meet the owners like me.
