Forget worrying about restaurants in Noosa when the best quality is at your hotel. Now back to the hotel - in Outrigger fashion, the rooms are well appointed. However, one major fault. There is no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. My bride and I love each other but there are some things we simply do not like to "share". Perhaps our room was a one-of-a-kind. Walk distance to the beach (excellent for long board). You could rent a board if you didn't already have one. For backpackers, it often comes down to two things. Electricity and internet. I was lucky to wait for only a day for the guy next to the plug to check out, got his bed, and happily lived with my power plug for the next couple of weeks. Also, it was next to the backdoor where connects to the terrace, extra jackpot there. The only inconvenience would be the kitchen, where it's located at the another building, and also a bit small given the number of people stay around here (which was almost always full, by the way). But hey, couldn't beat the view here, up in the little hill here in Noosa Heads. My previous company actually got a branch here, and I was jokingly saying that I was down to just move in here. Well, not after I realized how expensive the actual residence here that would cost me...

I was impressed to find a microwave, toaster and crockery/cutlery, in addition to the standard bar fridge and tea/coffee facilities. For 4-star accommodation I expected nicer linen; the towels were of average quality and rough and the sheets were in good condition but thin. I liked the mounted squeeze bottles of shampoo and body wash, and hand wash in the bathroom. The water pressure - particularly coming from Brisbane - was divine! The property has a pool and spa, which we unfortunately didn't have time to try. It is situated at the front of the property and while nicely maintained, there is no shade or privacy, which detracts from the appeal. Overall I was happy with our stay, but the overall ambiance of the place could do with some work. I would probably consider this place again for a short-stay, but if I were taking a longer holiday I would want to stay somewhere a bit more lush.

The accommodation is more like a hotel than a motel - new furniture, furnishings and finishes - with the added bonus of crockery & cutlery. The room is spacious, modern, immaculately clean. The bed is comfortable and firm and the hosts are lovely. Across the road from Lake Weyba, the Anchor Motel makes for very affordable and comfortable Noosa accommodation.
