Brecher Lighting

For the past 5 years (since we've lived in louisville), my husband always points and yells "we need…read moreto stop in there!" everytime we pass Brechers. Everytime. He's more of a window shopper as I like to go into places where if I like it, I can purchase it. Long story short, we bought a house and actually have a need to check this place out. And as we almost pass the place again, he points towards the lights and I nod my head in agreement. Here we go. Upon entering, I noticed how uncomfortable it would be for anyone taller than 6 feet to navigate through this gorgeous store. I even had to duck a few times. There were a few people there checking out the fixtures. They had chandeliers, fans, mirrors, etc of all styles and prices. and here's a tip: each light can be turned on by pulling the cord next to it! just make sure to turn it back off because I'm sure their light bill is high enough as it is. Someone offered to help us but we explained how we were just scoping the place out and she let us browse as long as we wanted. That's when she mentioned the tip about the light switches. Anyway, I'm glad we stopped in to check out all the pretty lights. There's soooo much to choose from!

Like a huge showroom floor of the best stuff. We went on a late Thursday morning and there wasn't many people there at all. Our issue was the workers. The few we spoke too seemed to either be unknowledgeable, uninterested and lacked customer service skills. The lady working the front entrance I hope was new because she was clueless about everything including the layout. The representing that she finally got for us after about 15 min of us roaming around seemed like she would rather get a route canal then help us out. Also kinda spoke to us like we were the expert and should know about the brands and product. When the main focus of our visit is to to see what our options were and to see what we liked. I'd say about 24-48 hours we made our purchase but not from here. The customer service experience turned us off. The pricing at This establishment is in the high end. However as mentioned they only have high end things on the showroom floor. So that is to be expected. Most people including us do not mind to spend a little extra for nicer things but we do expect to recover knowledgeable and helpful information before making a purchase of large magnitude.

Worst customer service I have ever seen. First, when we entered the store she told us that there…read morewas limited capacity and that we would have to wait in the car until they called. I honestly didn't have a huge problem with that until I heard a lady say she was going to look at something real fast and they let her enter. After we got to enter the showroom and found some items we loved, she couldn't help because she had to stand at the door, but we could be put on a waitlist or look it up online. I did not drive to the store to then go look it up online. This store has some really nice pieces, but very poor customer service. They took social distancing to a new level! All in all, we wanted to purchase items for our bathroom remodel today, but I refuse to buy from a place with poor customer service.

I really like this shop. The first time I went, I was looking for a harp for a vintage lamp bought…read morein Japan with an unusual fitting. Jennifer helped me, and it took a couple of tries, but we found the perfect replacement harp. I then brought them a little bedside lamp I had as a child. It needed some repairs. They quoted a priced and also noted a crack in one plastic piece I hadn't even noticed. They said they'd try to repair that too but if they had to source a replacement part, it might cost a bit more. I agreed. The lamp came back repaired and with a stylish metal piece to replace the broken part. It did cost a couple dollars more, but I am so pleased to have that lamp working and beautiful again. When picking up the the little lamp, I found another table lamp I liked. Their shop is jam-packed with great inventory, many styles and themes otherwise hard to find. I brought the new lamp home, but the shade didn't work in the space. I took the shade back (still in original wrapping) and they sent me home with 3 others we picked out to try. One worked beautifully, so I bought it and they even gave me a credit on the original included lampshade since I returned it. Then today I went back looking for a floor lamp for a tight space. Jennifer helped me again, patiently helping me try out a couple of options in the shop. I chose a sleek brass floor lamp with a stunning black shade. She told me if it didn't work out, I could bring it back and try the other one. It's now in its space, looking so elegant that there's no way it's being returned. This shop has become my go-to for lamp and lamp accessories!

They spent a good deal of time with me - sometimes both at once - to help me reach my decision. While I was there, several other customers came in with what appeared to be lamp repairs, and the shop also has plenty of lamps for sale as well. I ended up purchasing two small modern off-white shades for antique bedside lamps and a really cool clover-shaped tan shade for a living room floor lamp. The prices were fair and in line with what I was expecting to pay so overall I was extremely pleased with the experience and will definitely return with any future lamp-related needs.
