The front desk is AMAZING!! this is definitely not about them. My mother came in for antibiotics and to get a tooth pulled, we missed the appointment for the tooth removal and we rescheduled. Dr.Chris Marsh was supposed to give her 2 weeks of antibiotics and only gave 1 week, so by the time we got in for the tooth removal an abscess had come back. When we met with him my mom told him it had come back and that she did not want it removed while it was there. He very rudely replied to her "Then go somewhere else" and walked out he then gave us a dismissal. The first visit even Dr.Chris Marsh didn't want us leaving without paying 600$ for the procedure even when we said we don't have that kind of money he would ask if we could get someone to pay for it or come up with it somehow, we felt very uncomfortable knowing the procedure was not needed asap. Hundreds of 5 Star Reviews eh? I'm guessing 99% of those were for the prior office staff and dentist. I'm 72 y.o. and keep pretty quiet, don't swear (not in public), and am pretty easy to get along with......today Dr. Marsh went mental....at the top of his lungs even though I wasn't even talking.....he wouldn't let me say a thing. This will probably take a turn for the worse....here goes. My guess is the good reviews came before Dr. Marsh purchased the practice from Dr. Daniels. Dr. Marsh literally went berserk today in his office, grabbing me by the arm and physically escorting me out of his office (he's fortunate I was in a good mood or that could have escalated). Anyway here is the post I just put on Google...... Well, I got four veneers, $8,000 from Dr. Daniels, the prior owner of My Family Dentist), 2 of them kept popping off, they were done originally by Dr. Daniels. My Family Practise boasts decades of experience on their website...that's between both dentists, (Dr. Marsh probably not even a year, check the dates on those reviews) and was purchased by Dr. Marsh (who in my opinion is either on drugs or is bipolar!! or both he was so out of line today). One of those two popped off at least half a dozen times and Dr. Marsh finally put a crown on it at no charge as he told me he was taking care of Dr. Daniels previous patients). Last Friday night a different veneer popped off....I contacted Dr Marsh who was as nice as could be, met me on Sat 4 pm, and put a half-ass temp on it. Looks terrible. He said to come in Monday and we'll put a permanent crown on it. 2 p.m. appt Mon, got numbed up and a lady shows up asking for $1,895 to do the crown. Needless to say, I am not paying that and will begin taking another course of action. I have never sued anyone before, but maybe this time. I'm sure all those previous 5-star reviews were for Dr. Daniels and maybe a few for Dr. Marsh. I do believe Dr. Marsh needs a psych eval...he physically escorted me out of his office with a room full of patients! Yelling at the top of his voice. That could have easily escalated, but I did not let it. Come home to go over directions from my neighbor as I will feed his cats while he's on vacation and come to find out he's going through a similar incident with Dr. Marsh....my guess is both our cases will go to court. You've been warned, he comes off sweet as can be blond hair blued buddy......turned into Lucifer when he heard the word sue. I asked, and I was very quiet so customers in the lobby couldn't hear me....I asked the front desk girls if they knew how I could contact Dr. Daniels and they didn't so I said "Well I guess I'll just sue you guys and we can find him later"....that's when Dr. Jekle grabbed my arm and started yelling and escorted me out without speaking with me. Regarding Dr. Chris Marsh @ MyFamily Dentist in Sedona That man has apparently had never heard of the Hippocratic Oath. I recently visited him and had a fairly reasonable visit, decent diagnostics, and scheduled an appt to get some work done. When the appt came I noticed on my chart that they were planning to do work on a different tooth than what was bothering me... I mentioned it and they realized that they had made a mistake... They did some more diagnostics and suggested a root canal and some other work instead, a procedure that would cost about five times as much. That's fine... I had been sitting in a dentist chair for an hr or so at that point and it was too late to start that procedure, so we scheduled it for later in the month. I made the appt but within a few days noticed that it wasn't financially feasible for me at this time so I called and cancelled the appt with at least ten days notice. He said something on the phone like, "Fuck you, we don't do cancellations." We had kind of joking conversation at the dentist so I honestly thought he was joking. I told him that I wanted to proceed with the rest of the treatment plan but couldn't do the $2600 root canal at this time and he said, "No way man." I laughed and said, "Talk with you later Dr. Marsh." A few days later a friend of mine had a dental emergency... His face swoll up as if he had half a baseball in his cheek. I drove him to the ER for an antibiotic prescription, and then picked up the antibiotics at the pharmacy. I called Dr. Marsh and notified him of the emergency and he agreed to get my friend in the same day. When we got there and he saw us he said, "You're the one that cancelled a few days ago? Yeah, fuck you, I'm not servicing you." The whole thing was so absurd that I, my friend, and my girlfriend still thought he was joking. I asked if he was and he yelled even louder, "GET THE FUCK OUT OR I'M CALLING THE COPS!" The whole thing was honestly absolutely psychotic. He was actually talking during the appt about doing nitrous recreationally "in the back" with the dental technicians. This guy is a loose cannon... I will absolutely be reporting him to the BBB and every Google and Yelp type site I can find. My friend is still having a life-threatening dental issue... What kind of a person reacts this way to a cancellation with ten days notice? He should have his license revoked... my friend is having a medical emergency. Yes, I agreed to the root canal treatment plan tentatively, but I was extremely stressed from sitting in a dentist chair for over an hr without anything being done, only to find that my treatment plan was wrong, etc, etc. I tried to be as respectful and with as much notice as possible and this dentist acted more unprofessionally than anyone I've ever seen in this field. He doesn't deserve a license... this was absolutely psychotic. read more

I am on vacation here in Cottonwood over the Memorial Day weekend. My filling was agitated by the flight over and wouldn't stop throbbing. After talking with my dentist back home, I felt the next action was to remove my tooth. I called around Memorial Day in hopes of reaching a dentist and saw that Dr. Marsh did emergency procedures. He prescribed me some antibiotics and Tylenol to take the edge off and told me to come in first thing when their office opened. This was my first (and hopefully my last time) getting my teeth extracted. Since I needed my wisdom tooth extracted as well, Dr. Marsh got it done. I was put under local anesthesia and felt nervous. Dr. Marsh walked me though the process and Glenn his assistant was very supportive throughout the whole process. Billing was easy even though I am from California, his front desk made sure all the details were taken care of. I highly recommend Dr. Marsh, he took care of me and answered any questions I had on his day off. STAY AWAY!!!! Though this dentist has some 5 star reviews, I encourage you to look carefully at the 1 star reviews and I think you will see a pattern sufficient to make you think twice. Dr. Marsh pretends to be professional, pretends to be 'nice' but... BEWARE! After some confusion, I had a crown made and placed in his office. It fit poorly and his fix was to attempt to grind down my good teeth to make a ill-fitting crown, fit better. Common sense tells you do not grind good teeth to adjust a poorly fitting crown. My bite was thrown off by the poorly made and ill-fitting crown, causing me to crack a bicuspid in multiple pieces. The remainder of that tooth needed to be extracted. I am so very disappointed about losing that tooth. I have worked all my life to keep my teeth. Then bc I now had pain in my back tooth where the poorly made crown was placed, he wanted me to get a root canal on the crowned tooth. At this point my trust was lost. After getting two second opinions, the crown needed to be redone. I asked Dr. Marsh for a refund and he said okay, if I give him the two second opinion letters. After giving him the letters he immediately, flatly and only said, "NO!" and walked away. I am left with filing a complaint with the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners and taking him to small claims court. Something definitely seems wrong in his office and with him. It is my opinion that Dr. Marsh puts his goal of making money way, way out in front of being of service and doing good for anyone. One can feel good about earning money from helping others, but charging them for work that not only does not help but causes more work and expense is... UNCONSCIONABLE. On a recent hiking trip to Sedona, an old crown failed and required replacement. I was fortunate to happen upon Dr Marsh at My Family Dental who graciously squeezed me into his busy schedule at the end of the day. Because he had the latest equipment on hand he was able to form and install the new crown in one visit of @ 1 1/2 hours. The last time I had a crown installed it took a few weeks. Dr Marsh was very pleasant, answered my many questions and quite competent in his work. His tech assistant was equally pleasant and competent. I had fallen in a dark parking lot, late night, sustaining some serious dental damage. Worse, I'm a visitor from out-of-state. It was now early AM. At first glance, this office and its staff appear state-of-the-art. The receptionists, dental hygienists, and even Dr. Roy Daniels himself were pleasant, welcoming, charming even. That's because most SCAM ARTISTS are. I booked a new patient appointment for a teeth cleaning, and what I got when I left over an hour later was: no teeth cleaning and a BILL for services I neither asked for or consented to. I have commercial insurance that they assured me they took and covered my appointment. I was subjected to X-rays and flash photography that I did not ask for. I came for a simple teeth cleaning, and ended up with a terrible head-shot that they charged me 100s of dollars for. I will be reporting this crook of a practice to the State Board of Dentistry so other people are not subjected to their criminal enterprise. read more

Pretty useless in an emergency. My husband lost a front crown when we were in town for a couple of days. They advertised very heavily on their website that they specialize in emergency care and go to great lengths to text you, send links, pop up with chat boxes on the website, etc. when I let them know the issue, they texted a link and we were able to make an appointment for the next morning on their website, which offered time slots and available dates. It was also soothing to see that other customers had left reviews that they were seen quickly (maybe the reviews aren't real?) . We checked out of our place early , had filled out all of the medical and insurance info and arrived 15 minutes early as they requested and you know what? They never showed up. Never texted, never called, never emailed, nothing. The answering service couldn't help at all. Not being open is their prerogative, but offering an appointment on a day that you're closed and sending a confirmation that you'll be seen is incredibly irresponsible. Dr. Daniels is an excellent practitioner whom my wife and I have used as our dentist for 20 years. Unfortunately, his office manager lacks customer service common sense. I've spent five figures in his office over the years and recently missed an appointment for the first time. She insisted that she charge me $50 for the missed appointment. I had severe tooth pain a couple of days into my honeymoon. I searched for dentists online overnight and hoped that one could fit me in. I saw reviews of people in similar situations and called Dr. Daniels' office as soon as they opened. A very friendly person (Melanie) answered the phone and fit me in the same day for an emergency visit. Dr. Daniels was awesome and caring and I loved his assistant. He took time to figure out exactly what was wrong with my tooth and got me an appointment for an emergency root canal the next day.
