History
Established in 1930.
The Roxy was built in 1930 at a cost of $35,000. It was built to replace the Lincoln Paramount Theatre, a silent movie house that was located in a storefront two doors to the west. The original owners were F. X. Faust and Anthony Wolke, Since its construction, the Roxy has been modernized to include the newest types of projection and sound and amenities, but it still retains its 1930s charm -- in fact all of the lobby doors and finishes are still original.
Meet the Business Owner: Mike B.
Mike Blakesley and his brother-in-law Tom Clifford purchased the Roxy in 1979 after both had been employed as projectionists for several years. They immediately embarked on a series of improvements and upgrades to the theatre's seating, projection and concession areas which continue to this day. Blakesley and Clifford operated the business as a team until 1992, when Blakesley took over as sole owner. Blakesley married Lynette Hecht, of Billings, in 2000 and today they operate the business together.
